+1 for Inners via Hamsterley, the latter well under rated with lots of tracks and line options.

Whenever I go to Cum Carn I always feel I spent all day on a bus to ride 1 line, 1 wet line. On the plus side, I did nearly get blown off on the bridge there once.

Top doo, good fun, well organised, supportive spectators and cracking course.

Getting muddy and feeling sick for two hours has never been so much fun.

    Sorted, cheers Silverfish.

“The correct part number is F30018, which is a kit to replace both the crank bolt and extracting cap (due to a design change you are best off replacing both)”

For info this is a two part system, a puller cap with 10mm allen hex and the seperate internal bolt which holds the drive side crank arm to the spindle. It’s the internal bolt with the washer that I’m after.

There are two schools of thought how to deal with this pest.

    1) Shoot it. The downside being that if you don’t kill it dead it could get away and die a slow painful death, also the bullet could go astray and strike something unintended, like a bicycle.

    2) Set a pack of dogs upon it. The upside being death is pretty much guaranteed and happens relatively quickly. The downside, the reds will be on your back.

The old favourite, Minion DHF on the front, HighRoller on the rear. 2.5s on the DH bike and 2.35 folding on the 5 inch.

Find the DHF more ‘directional’ in the turns and the HighRoller nice and versaitile. DHF on the rear when its dry and dusty for railing.

For winter swap the DHF for a Swampy but at the moment its Michelin spikes F&R!

I’ve got a Synology DS409+. The DSM management interface is great and download manager means I can download torrents outside of the cap window from my ISP.

Quite pricey but packed with features, I have a 1TB RAID-1 setup where I keep all my media and docs, means I don’t have ‘My Documents’ scattered between my laptop and desktop. I’ve also got an extra drive setup for iSCSI which means you can have a drive in the NAS seen as a local hard drive on you puter, neat and geeky.

You can also setup web servers and file access so you can get at your docs anywhere in the world just by leaving your NAS on, it also registers with Dynamic DNS. It also powers down the hard drives after 20 mins inactivity and wakes them up when you need to access.

Yeah, Pace recon 130-150mm fork but I think it's designed more around 130, was wondering if anyone has run different fork lengths on theirs?

Aye it's alreet. Vallandry side is better, some good tree runs, over Arc 2000 way is a bit of a bowl which means on a board you have to straightline it for ages to make the lifts. Do the off-piste to the right of the trans arc, You'll end up at the top of the valley and have to get a bus back to Piesey but it's well worth it.

I like Cotic, I have one, but the Hemlock is ugly in my opinion. The 575 is a fine looking machine, and probably snaps less often.

    Everything is a compromise.

Santa Cruz VP Free – Alps and downhill
Pace RC405 – Trail centres and tech
    Kona Stuff – Dirt jumping
Kinesis Decade Virsa Singlespeed – winter bike and summer XC racer
Cotic Roadrat – commute and touring
Felt Sector 24 – cruiser for the BMX tracks
Honda XR250 – sometimes you just need an engine

Race 3 of them, ride all of em

I think weed is one of the most dangerous drugs out there, leads onto other drugs and robs you of ambition, nearly ruined my life.

Of course used sensibly it can be safe done at the right time and the right people, but as a teenager most people don’t do this, its all about who can take the biggest caning and if used regularly gives physcosis and paranoia. All my opinion of course, I guess its better if you can keep an eye on yer kids, but it is condoning something which seems to have taken on an air of acceptability, but in my view is worse than E.

willv – I had a similar issue, to start with the rear triangle came in at nearer 125mm, not sure if this was crushed in transit or whether it was a production issue but pace replaced no questions, the wheel set to one side as well but I guess this could have been due to the alignment issues with the rear triangle.

Aside from that, lovely frame, climbs awesome.

One other niggle, the owners manual i got with the frame said the 405 has a 68mm BB shell, but its actually 73mm….
