I had 140mm U-turn pikes on mine (thats currently for sale ;) ) and always felt that it would be nicer with a bit more travel.

I can’t imagine climbing being much worse, it doesn’t wonder around too much at 140mm, and I never bothered dropping it down to 90mm for climbs.

Thanks for the map link :) Going to Morzine for the first time on 1st July this year so looking for some nice lift assisted trails away from the bike park stuff!

Nope, probably 6 inches off touching them, I’m 27.
    I stretch most days too…

I have a 2011 XL enduro and love it.

It’s a long bike with modern geometry and handles pretty much anything you throw at it. The only thing I did struggle with are tight and narrow trails, it was fairly hard to chuck around compared to other bikes.

Out in bike park wales last week and it was perfect!

It’s going up for sale if anyone is interested ;) (with new frame bearings and serviced shock).

First time riding in Wales this weekend.

    Fri – Cwmcarn
    Sat – BPW uplift
    Sun – Afan
    Mon – Forest of dean

Popped to Parkwood springs on the way home last night for a session on the dual slalom too.

    Awesome!

Funkhouser – Looks like the SWB, mate has a SWB berlingo (same size) and bikes fit in ok with wheels on and handlebars turned.

Was going to spend the weekend up in Scotland until I saw the forecast. Ended up having one night stay over near Ullswater on thursday then did helvellyn on the friday followed by some climbing :) (bit cosier than camping)

Will keep an eye on this, I’m also going there Mid June for the first time with a friend who’s new to biking so not really looking at the DH stuff other than greens/blues.

See loads of them up near black hambleton, there’s quite a few black rabbits about too which look odd!

Yeah I’ve got a VW Caddy on personal lease through VW.

3 Years with 10,000 miles per year (anything over that is charged at 6p per mile)
Tax and european breakdown cover included, I just have to sort out my insurance.

You could pay extra for free servicing, but since it’s only due 1 service in the 3 years it wasn’t worth the extra cost.

If you do get one over 3 years, you will have to put it through an MOT at the end of the contract.

The red route is quite long (23 miles) and does have a few bits that might be a bit technical for a novice.

Blue loop is shorter but is mainly fireroad (although there are some newer bermy sections).

I’d go to sherwood pines instead. The red loop is shorter and fairly steady going. There’s the bike park to mess around in too.

It’s a bit annoying, it’s nice to see how much I’ve climbed over the year so would be useful if they just had an option to not include the climbing ascent and milage for an uplift day.

You’ve probably got no wax protecting the paint anymore. Give the car a wash, followed by clay bar / iron X to remove any contaminants. Then give it a wax to protect the paint.

Assume it’s because they will need marshalls on the sat if it’s on private land? It’s only for round 4.

Can you practice on the Sunday morning?

It’s a really nice jacket, lovely and windproof but it’s probably not breathable enough to ride in.

Do you know when entries open?

I’ll try get a place, was good fun last year, apart from breaking a wheel

Rhid – what bike is it out of interest?

They’ve not had a hard life so will go ahead and just replace the one. I was a little worried I’d have to keep trueing the wheel up if I didn’t replace the full set.

Will you also be guessing the pattern?

To be honest I think I’ll just give it all to the shop to build, I’ll only mess it up!

Are the standard spokes sapim race on the hope hoops?

Go for it. Fiesta gearbox’s are cheap as chips second hand anyway so it wouldn’t be the end of the world if it ever did go pop.

Do they have receipts for the reconditioned/replaced gearbox?
No reason why a refurbed box shouldn’t last the life of the car. They would usually come with a years warranty depending when/where it was done.
    What mk fiesta is it?

Thanks, I’ve sent bothy bikes an email to buy a trail map of the area.

High burnside looks perfect too, do you know if the trails are easy enough to find? I’ll have a look what I can find on strava explore.
