Does it really make that much difference over the nobby nics?

Not too bad that cyclopark. Nice for practising on the bermy stuff but you’re right it doesn’t flow the best. Did have a go on the road route but got bored after a lap. The bmx pump track looks good but you need to have coaching before attempting that!

Back in bluewater scoffing down a Wahaco mexican. Yum!

Popped up to the heath this afternoon. Couldn’t find any of the jumps but its not bad for a couple of hours plodding about. Weather was great too :)

Bluewater was great. Massive place and dead quiet on an evening! Had a tasty wagamama’s to fill up after my ride.
Think ill be back there tomorrow to try the tapas place. Indian sounds good too so will have a look for Thursday night possibly.

Think i will try the cyclocross place tomorrow, wouldn’t mind giving the bmx track ago if they will let me on.
Will have a look on my maps and check out the oter areas mentioned. Thanks for the help!

Is there a bike shop around? Brought 3 spare tubes with me but picked up 2 punctures at cannock and another today :(
Bitterly disappointed with my new mountain kings!

When i was playing with it is was inside and fairly dark, not sure if that would make a difference?

These are the sort of shots i’m getting, its hard to keep the dogs still!

Would a post video screengrab come out better, or would it be any better in daylight?

I’ve since updated teh firmware so will try it out again and see if its improved. I’ve also noticed that when doing the burst photo mode the shots come out dark, is this due to teh low light levels?

Its a GoPro 3 black if that helps.

Thanks, i heard the white clip actually tightens the mount up so does help slightly to reduce the shake.

I will have a play this weekend with the chest mount and see how i get on, looks like it may need to be mounted upside down to get the right angle. Will try it pointing backwards too.

The static shots do look good quality! I probably will get a tripod but for the moment ill be cheap and mount it to a stick in the ground or something.

Anyone else have the issue with blurry photo’s? I think it may improve the shutter speed if i do the burst shots instead?

Nice vids, looks a little shaky i guess but if theres not alot you can do then i won’t worry. Did you use the little white clip it came with? And what resolution and fps do yuo normally use?

I like the perspective a chest mount gives so want to stick with it really. I have tried a handlebar mount but that was very shaky on my hardtail.

The camera does come with a small white clip, but im not sure how it mounts. Does this reduce the shake?

My LBS was shut so just went to evans cycles which didn’t have the right size.
My dad can get them from work so just wanted to know which type.
Cheers will go for the chromed ones.

Anyone? Will SS bearings be fine?

    yorkshire89

I have taken the hub apart and cones are fine. One side does have some minor hairline cracks in the cup but I am just going to replace the bearings for now. When the hub finally goes I will work out whether the hub is worth replacing or whether to bin it.

LBS only had some 1/4″ bearings for the rear hub so I need to find some 3/16″ bearings. Does it matter whether I buy some hardened bearings or stainless steel? I assume stainless steel will break up easier buy may help the hub last a little longer?

Daveh I was a little confused about the shield, most deore types do look a little different!

Im supposed to be out for a ride next weekend so could do with it fixing by then. Is there a bearing kit anywhere or do i just need to buy the loose bearings? 12 or so each side?

I’ve just noticed the rotor says ‘Resin pads only’, and i’m currently running sintered. Will i die?

I have the 10mm allen key but cant get into the hub without the cassette tool so will have to wait until tomorrow before i can strip it.

    The hub is a HB-M535.

I’ve taken a few photo’s, i managed to get the dropout and cone off by hand while i was out but now the dropout is stuck and i don’t have spanners with me. I took the cone off and 2 or the balls were shattered, there doesn’t appear to be a great deal of damage but i can’t really see properly until its all apart.

The dropout does look off centre looking from the disc side, do you think its repairable or new wheel time?

    yorkshire89

Cheers, I will go grab the wheel and have a look, all i have noticed is that it says shimano deore on the hub but will look for a M… code.

I have a set of allen keys on me now and my multitool, my cassette tool is at home which i can pick up tomorrow. Do i need cone spanners or will any small adjustable work?

What is a centre lock hub exactly?

The spokes and rim are in good condition but are standard to the bike and are nothing special (bontranger).
I’ve never built a wheel up so if i need a new hub will have to visit the LBS to be built up, which could be fairly costly vs buying a new wheel set.

Cheers, where can i buy these from?

I will give it a strip and rebuild and see how it holds up for now.

I’ve heard a few horror stories about Warranty wise and Warranty direct not paying out. I would personally stick with the Subaru warranty they will be much more likely to pay out.

Been a poor week so far, popped to cannock and apparently its over knee height in some parts so gave it a miss, then went to Aston hill which was just compact ice :(

Don’t use the mobile guys, do it properly with a full chemical strip, sandblast and powdercoat. Then give the wheels a seal before putting them on, will help when it comes to cleaning them.

I paid £200 for a full powder (no refurb needed) and they were brilliant.

Also, the bluemotions and ‘eco’ friendly models may have them. Im not sure about other cars.
