    Results have just been posted.

55/80 in the seniors, 163/314 overall. Pretty average as usual :-)

Ouch fr0sty! 8O I messed that same corner up in practice, went in too fast and couldn’t make the turn.

Stage one didn’t go too well, was struggling with fitness and messed up that rocky gully near the end of it and had to let a rider pass.

Other stages didn’t go too bad, I got an overall time of 11:51 but haven’t seen the full results yet.

Nothing like sherwood, the XC loop is rooty and fairly technical.
The DH runs are great but it’s a fair push back up.

According to their FB the Hope line, DH lines and homebaked will all be closed on Sunday for the enduro!

Dalby has some moderate technical bits on the red loop, theres a few fairly steep rocky descents, some with smallish drops that could catch you out. Wouldn’t really call it a blue altough the technical bits are few and far between.

For your first just try to get to the end without hurting yourself, don’t worry too much about time, just enjoy it.

I’m there but won’t be camping, there is a camping on site though.

4 stages this time round, and no climbs on the stages (although one stage is quite long apparently), should be good :D

Haha yes the clutch is on (the last few times it came off anyway!).

Interesting about the chain wear, do you replace your chain before a chain checker fits?

Thanks for the replies. I’ve had the chainring about 4-5 months, will have a look and see if there is any noticeable wear but I was hoping it would last a fair while longer…

I’ll tighten the clutch and see if it makes a difference but looks like I should probably buy a top guide.

Leaderboards seem to be a bit slow to load up sometimes, I did a ride and it came up saying I was 3rd on a climb, even though I was in a group and knew others had done it faster. Was about a week or so before the correct times were shown.

Sometimes it also seems to take a couple of hours to show your PB’s, 2nd, 3rd etc on a particular segment.

I like the idea of it for enduro’s, it’s a pain doing the transitions in a full face and seems a better idea than riding the stages with an open face strapped to your back.

It’s obviously not going to offer the same protection as a one piece full face, but I imagine you’ll come away better than you would with no face protection at all.

Remove the red tape and replace with yellow, give the rim a light sanding under the tape to help it stick down. There is a video on the stans website I believe.

    Glad you enjoyed it :)

The enduro route up there was 25 miles and my legs were dead after it, even after walking up some of the climbs! Will have to get out on one of those routes soon.

One of the reasons I like tubeless so much, you can run tyres at a pressure where they work without having to run dual plys.

Until you tear the sidewall open and spray stans fluid all over the place (happened at the weekend), I’ll be running dual ply from now on!

I can see the benefits of spd’s for speed and efficiency, but I couldn’t get on with them, and I wasn’t enjoying my rides trying to get used to them, so they aren’t for me.

Ive got a map of the route if you’d like I can email over?

It’s hilly and pretty exposed up there so go prepared, enjoy :)

Sam Hill always wears flats doesn’t he? and won the last world cup race?
Not that it really matters to us.

I ride flats, couldn’t get on with spd’s, took some of the fun out of riding for me, and I kept coming off.

Look at your technique, keep your heels down and you shouldn’t really come off. 5:10’s will certainly help, it actually felt like been clipped in going from skate shoes to 5:10’s.

Thanks, that might be the better option then. Where did you get yours from? I’ve just seen them on ubyk and hotlines, but they are both £60.

What shock size are you running now? I believe my zesty is 200×57 (I see yours is 2013 though, so may vary).

    Cheers :)

Great event, some quality riding to be had up there!

Had a fall on first stage near the bottom (and lost my flapjack :x ), had a puncture and chain came off on the last stage, other than that it was a really good day!

I’m just planning on getting there early tomorrow and taking it really easy, I don’t plan on going for it on the stages until Sun, but its good to have an idea of whats coming up.

Has anyone seen the route yet?

Set mine up by sag, running around 75psi (recommended was 110-120), not bottomed out yet as far as I’m aware, and not currently running any tokens.

Put yourself down as a named driver (not main), that will reduce the price. £2k isn’t really that bad, I was paying £1700 when I first passed 7 years ago.
