Idle control valve possibly needing a clean, or throttle position sensor?

You’ve always been able to filter ‘my results’ on a segment, is that what you mean?

With my old formula’s, if you push one piston back in, the opposite one just came out further. So you had to push them both out at the same time.
Now these have 4 pistons, how am I supposed to do them all at the same time with the pads out?

Screwdriver method is what I usually do, but end up taking a chunk out of the pads.
Not too bothered when they cost £4 a pair from superstar but these aren’t cheap 8O

Best to have a demo and see what you prefer/fits best?

I demo’d a 2015 spicy and never noticed my heel clipping.

No, you need to check bolt PCD and wheel offset. You may also need spigot rings, and the bolts need to be the same type (some bolt heads sit at different angles).

I’m in for the 5 stages on Sunday :P

Yes I had that on strava, but if you change the map from terrain to satellite it works! :-)

The different models usually have different turbo’s, intercooler’s and sometimes different clutches, so I would check that a remap is suitable for your engine.

Downside is that you put more stress on engine parts, so engine life may be reduced (I’ve heard 10% reduction mentioned, but this will vary).
Clutch life will be the main thing to look at, due to the extra torque produced.

If your going to get a remap, get a live map on a rolling road, rather than a generic bluefin type ‘chip’.

I think the first time I did the full red it took me about 4 hours (with a few cake stops), I can do it in about 2 now.

I wouldn’t do the full route with some non-bikers, personally I’d set off from the visitor centre, do the blue route from there and meet up with the red route to do the last third.

There’s some good riding at dalby, but doing the full red can be a bit tedious. Some of the sections are a bit samey.

It depends, some events you get to pick your start time, so if you are near the start you don’t have to wait around much.

PMBA series was set up like this last year, and the slower riders generally set off first.

Some are a free for all, so if you don’t get to the start of stage 1 early, you’ll be waiting round for people to set off. I did hamsterley this year, and was near the back and had to wait around 30mins at each stage. The track also got chewed up more so you were at a bit of a disadvantage, was my excuse anyway :)

Some info on the Audi 2.0tdi engine problems here, it’s the ‘BRB’ engine you want to avoid really.
    http://www.audi-sport.net/xf/threads/2-0tdi-oil-pump-balancer-shaft-problems-the-definitive-guide-audi-vw-skoda-seat.140949/

I’ve got the PD170 ‘BRD’ which has been faultless since I’ve owned it, now on 113,000 miles.

They aren’t quite as economical as the CR engines (I get 45-55mpg on a long run), and are a bit noisier.

Every car has it’s problems, but I don’t think it’s as widespread as people make out.

They go under the rotor bolts, between the bolt heads and rotor.
Guess they are to stop the bolts coming loose?

jpegout works but the quality is rubbish. You could plot as a PDF, then use something like Gimp to export as jpeg?

There’s probably a quicker way around it though…

Did you all do the full practise lap the day before?

Had my first trip upto glentress last month and noticed I did do one of the 2013 stages on the black route, probably the best trail centre descent I’ve done, loved it! :D

Sounds do-able then, I was just about at my limit by the end of the ‘Ard rock last year, and I missed a stage out in practice. Hopefully fitness has improved for this next year, I’ll try get some big rides in this winter!

MTB I’ve done 74 rides this year and 742 miles, which on average are really short rides! I’ve commuted roughly 2000 miles this year too.

Not sure if there is a difference, but I do have an E-type SLX mech at home if you want it, £12 posted. It was only used for a month before I went 1×10.

If it’s the pacestar compound, it won’t be any improvement on wet roots/rocks, trailstar is much better for that.

I’ll be doing the full one :)

I reckon they’ll miss off stages 3 and 4 for the sport version.

ETA: Actually, it says you still ride the full route, I thought you would miss out some of the long transitions. I think the first 2 stages were the most technical?

No, they usually just set you off in groups so there isn’t a huge queue once you get to the stage start line.

There’s 3 timed stages, but you will set off in groups and ride the full loop, like all enduro’s :)

I’m running a minion DHF on the back, seems good in the mud and I commute 55 miles a week, it’s not great on the road but imagine it’ll be a fair bit easier than the Medusa!

How close to the pavement are you? Maybe try riding a bit further into the road to force drivers to think more about the overtake?

Haven’t had one yet, only been riding 2 years though. I’ve had a few quite a few falls but have got away with cuts and bruises so far. I have near misses all the time where I feel lucky that it didn’t messy. I’m certainly due one

I wasn’t keen on my crossrides, fairly heavy and not particularly strong. Whats your budget? You can pick up some second hand stans rims on pro2 hubs for £180-200

I do love changing conditions, it’s dark early, it’s getting pretty slick in the greasy mud, the leaves are falling, hiding roots. It’s pretty nervy, you’re tyres are skitting about hoping to find grip. Love it :D

(might not be saying this when a hidden root sends me off!)

I’ve got a set of shimano deore’s on one bike and formula rx’s on the other.

The shimano brakes are cheap and reliable but I don’t like the way they feel, the lever is very light to pull but there is very little modulation, they are either on or off. Not so great in mud, or when your going through rough stuff and want a little dab of brake.

Much prefer the feel of the formula’s, but they do seem to lack in stopping power a little, I think I’ll go for a set of hope’s when I can afford some!

Going from Schwalbe pacestar to trailstar compound, the difference in grip on wet rocks/roots is massive, so I’d assume it’ll be similar for black chilli.
