Samuri I know exactly what you mean, I still can’t cross a railway line without worrying about getting my football boots stuck!

Loads of cheeky trails round linthwaite area, you’ll have great fun finding and linking together into a ride, used to live at Cowlersley and still managed to find a great one the other day 1/2 mile from my old house that I’d been riding/driving past for years!

Nice one thanks for trialing that for me! Saved me wasting my time on a useless winter project! 😆

Do you think you could make them with pop rivets or would they wear out too quickly?

How tall are you and where are you? I have a friend in huddersfield who is selling a Genesis Core which has only been ridden about 5 times. I think he wants £300 for it but I’ll have to check. I wouldn’t spend too much on your first bike and definately start on a hardtail then after you’ve been riding for a while you’ll have a lot more idea what type of bike you want to progress on to. At that point you would be best demo-ing a few to find what suits you best.

Forget the alps! Fuengirola is where it’s at. Sierra Cycling is the company to go with so i’ve heard anyway! 😆

I would agree with you there uplink. I think part of the problem of not thinking much to the riding in that area may have been that the rides were tailored to the overall ability of the group and that some of the more experienced riders would have missed out on the fantastic trails nearby. It wouldn’t have been fair to take the ‘nervous’ members of the group down the ‘SRAM’ test track at Mijas or the technical routes above Caserabonela.

As long as the barmaids are less scary than the ones in Innerleithan we’ll be fine! 😆

Skinners it is then! I’ll meet you about 9ish Nige. Don’t bother bringing any gear we’ll just get it from the guy outside. I’ve just checked Google street maps and he’s still there! 😉

Loads of riding from ‘Scape’ and loads within a short drive eg. Calderdale or Holme Valley or both doable on longer rides. You’ll have great fun adventuring and finding all the good stuff, just remember just because it’s marked on a map doesn’t mean anyone human has been down it in the last century! Everything is fair game around here though just be polite and all the walkers will be really friendly! Only downside about Scape means all your rides will finish on a climb, sometimes a really big climb!

Prices don’t look too good for the chance you will take on quality. Some of their normal gear in the sales section is great though. The boxes of 3 pairs of kangol socks for £3 are absolutely brilliant. (thanks Mum!) although i made the mistake of telling my mum and I’m now guaranteed a set every birthday and Christmas! I’ve also used the umbro undershorts (for under my baggies) and for £7 they last for ever.

Loads of great routes around Marsden area. Still finding new stuff around the Huddersfield/Marsden/Holmfirth area and I’ve been riding round here for years.

I’m using the Gusset Bachelor (Push up non sprung one). Like you I thought it would be a hassle but I think it works great and they are cheap enough £13? Not difficult to get the wheel out and that’s the only time I’ve had to adjust the chain tension as I had a puncture.

Yes looked very much like that was driving through the centre of milsbridge and they were heading up morley lane towards cowlersley. I’ll keep my eye out for it as i live in Golcar.

Just read your story and realised you’re not local to huddersfield so if it is your bike it has most likely been sold on. I’ll keep my eye out though cos i thought it was quite a distinctive Nukeproof as i drove past and I’ll pass you any details.

I’m 5 10 and rode an 18 which was spot on. Whereabouts are you as I’ve an 18 inch slidey dropout inbred frame in the garage. Paint is tatty but still great.

I thought from your first post you’d bumped into this guy in the pub, didn’t realise you had met him on the trail itself. We don’t ride that much maybe twice a year tops, I can’t see how he can own it and I’ve never met any dog walkers on it. He probably saw some lights coming down the hillside in winter and your the first cyclist he’s managed to bump into on the trail that he can vent his anger on!

Onion thrower is on the other side of Hebden. We hardly ever ride behind the Fox and Goose so it won’t be us anyway. Hora you should have said ‘Get off my train’ to him!

Not guilty your honour! We were in Bingley on weds! Must have been the Beaujolais faction but there’s only about six of them! Onion thrower footpath got ruined ages ago by someone putting stiles on it! Made me chuckle though cos I was the bloke who had the onions thrown at me.

I’ve a Pendle 3 bike towball mounted bikerack for sale. Only used once as I realised I needed the bolt on one. Towball one is perfect if you don’t need to tow anything else at same time. £50 I’m in Huddersfield if interested.

If it’s only leaking when central heating is on it will be the expansion vessel that requires recharging with air. When boiler is cool pressure gauge will probably read 1-2bar, with heating on it will go upto around 3 bar where it will start dripping from pressure relief pipe as the safety valve opens. It needs someone that knows what they are doing and a footpump to resolve.
