The left hand of god is worth a read by Paul Hoffman although he messed up the finish by copying his ‘favourite’ battle from history rather than inventing his own.

The lies of Locke lamora is a good read but he only wrote the first 2 books and then went off the radar due to personal problems, Joe Abercrombie is a good read in a similar vein. I started out on Raymond E Feist, David Eddings and David Gemmell. Eddings and Gemmell may be a bit easy reading for some but if you want some good heroic fantasy and great characters I’d start there along with Magician by Raymond E Feist. Terry Goodkind’s Wizards first rule started off great along with Jordan’s wheel of time but both got lost along the way.

If your pressure is going up when using hot water it isn’t normally expansion vessel. You mention resetting the cut out? Probably the overheat device. Do you know how to repressurise/ top up pressure in boiler with filling loop as mentioned above? You need to repressurise to 1-1.5 bar first if still having pressure/overheat problems could be circulation problem ie pump has gone.

KMC’s have always been great for me and as Glupton says Gusset bachelor, it’s not self tensioning but I can’t remember the last time I had to adjust it.

Ha ha I’m showing my age now! (39) You’d recognise that fire surround after you’d struggled to put one back together and then realised you’d not put the plug back in for the lights or even worse left the baffles out of the heat exchanger! 😉

I’d get your old Glowworm boiler fire checked out, could be one of the pipes where it connects onto the heat exchanger in the chimmney breast or the heat exchanger itself! fingers crossed for you (while sucking air through teeth.)

Good call with the 1885 pub, I didn’t know about that. Look forward to going as I’ve always liked the restaurant. Quite pricy but that’s one of the things that’s nice around this area, loads of choices of restaurants with prices to suit everyone. Ripponden near to Stainland too so all the nice pubs and restaurants there too. I like Ripponden too and it has great access to M62 if Manchester bound. Further out than Stainland if going East but not too far. Todmorden only 30 mins away so we can come and poach all your great riding too!

Stainland is nice, it’s one of the places we were looking at before we ended up in Golcar. We just didn’t find the right house. Access to M62 is great and you are between Halifax and Huddersfield but nicely away from it all. Riding is great as it’s officially ‘Calderdale’ . Good pubs and restaurants nearby too.

I looked into this last year as I wanted to Singlespeed my Hummer and didn’t want to ruin the look or the ‘performance’ with a tensioner. I was used to sliding dropouts on my last frame and convinced that a tensioner would feel different and not work as well. All the other options were complex and costly and what if they wear you have the cost all over again. In the end I fitted a Gusset Bachelor which is a fixed tensioner. I hardly have to adjust it and don’t even notice anymore. If you are just trying single speeding I’d suggest the cheapest option in case it’s not for you! Also it’s for the winter so who cares what it looks like when it’s covered in mud?
EDIT covered in mud all summer too!

On a serious note, the iphone bit is a bit gimmicky and mainly useful for turning heat on on the way home from holiday/work etc. the best bit is the ability to control from your laptop very easily and get into your advanced settings (7 day times and temperatures) very easily which you can alter miles easier than tapping through the settings on a programmer. You could change daily depending on work shifts which would be really useful or as Paulos points out controlling the heating for an elderly relative who lives miles away where you could also set text alerts to notify if the temp in their house drops below a certain level indicating them turning it off or a potential boiler breakdown.

I’ve used Chris from Triple Treatment twice when buying/selling a house and as above he was very good and he doesn’t seem to charge when very minor. Seemed very honest and I think a lot of the local estate agents recommend him. We’re in Huddersfield.

Speedball II was ace and now on the iPad! Hogs of war was class and played Powermonger to death to complete the entire map only to realise it was only one small map in a grid of about 50 maps!
