Oh dear. I didn’t need another bike. Already got an XR29, two hardtails and a smattering of singlespeed pub bikes. That is a glorious looking thing. I bought a Singular Kite frame from a lovely chap on here last year. Love the bike but it needs to be just a tad bigger.

A new larger frame you say sir?

Check out TJ’s evil twins drinks cabinet though.

Dewalt. I’ve had one for years. The fence is superb and it stands upright against the wall of my wkshop. I’ve ripped air dried oak thicker than the cutting depth and then flipped the wood to complete the cut Does it without any fuss and you can make a very nice plywood extension that hooks on to the frame. Very nice bit of kit and well worth the investment. (Not to mention the fact that it fits in the van easily and will cut 800mm to the fence).

Great Ocean Road, Aus stopped and bought coffee from some kind of diner.  Completely suffused in the stench of old chip pan oil. Rank!  Straight out of the window.

Have a look at some of the insulating lime plasters. Keeps the building looking period and the walls will still perform as they should without installing vapour barriers etc.

@Tjagain. That brought a tear to my eye. Both sorts. I’m 52 and have the off wobble.  Embrace it all I say, and hop on your bike OP. (That autocorrected to OAP). I’m convinced this phone is listening to me . .

I also had metal in my eye  which somehow got past the safely glasses whilst grinding some mesh. Second trip to the eye hospital and after a rather late night due to not having to be on site until lunchtime, I found myself a little jittery with head firmly clamped in the stirrup again. The nurse had been poking around with a sterilised needle when suddenly she leapt back and said ‘You’ve got lots of coloured flecks in your iris haven’t you’! I replied yes and she put the needle down.

‘I’ve been trying to dig them out for the last 5 minutes. I’d better stop now.’

This is very sad news. I admired and respected him greatly. A truly brilliant man of words and he always seemed to be above all, kind. There are too few people who seem to be able to manage this.

That is a wonderfully eloquent eulogy. He sounded like an inspiring man. I’ll think on this as I head out in the mud tomorrow.

M&S Colombian beans. Lovely full and rounded flavour. Excellent value for the quality I reckon.

Meet and greet. Bit more expensive, but worth every penny for convenience and speed of arrival and collection. You’ll never look back.

Defo play with the angle of brake levers, especially if you like to ride with a finger or two poised. There are just so many tiny variables, all of which are discernible to a degree.

Just cheese. Never just one cheese. Like chocolate, you need two or three to compare and contrast. No crackers.
I find breakfast cheese is the best cheese.

I’ll second Bumbo. Makes the best daiquiri I’ve ever tasted.
Tipo Tinto also very nice and E.S.A Field white rum is a very good sipper. All best enjoyed in the sunshine though.

Drill a small hole at the end of the split. This should stop it splitting further. Then with a thin wedge, open up the crack, apply some Pva and wiggling the wedge, push it into the crack as you open and close it. When you’ve got as much in as poss (a sheet of paper can help get glue in also), cramp the table tightly for 24 hrs.

I love this forum. The kindness of others never fails to make the day better and to those who find humour amongst all of the other nonsense, I love you more.

My partners cousin had a camera in her nest box, and has footage of chicks being eaten by large black slugs. She was devastated, and rang the RSPB to ask if they had ever heard of this happening before. I know she sent the film to them, but not sure if she’s heard back.

@Jordan. Mine was Vital’s Bike of the Day a couple of months ago. It was like my birthday! Haven’t been that excited for years. DM me if you are serious about one and want to have a proper look and ride. I’m in Berks. I think there were only 3 in existence when I took delivery in Jan this yr.

I’ve got the Curtis XR29. It is indeed a beautiful thing. Climbs incredibly well. Very stable. It is also the longest bike I’ve ever owned by some miles.

I appear to have something in my eye. Amazing adventure. I hope this is the beginning of much much more.

I’m casually marshalling it again this year. Tried entering loads of times; always missed out, then met Mike at Bike fest and he said ‘come and Marshall’. It was one of the best long weekends on a bike I’ve had. Top trails. Top people. Brilliantly organised. I’m already excited, plus I’ve got a days 1-2-1 coaching in the FOD this Friday. Steep and technical skills.

Is it true that with your new artificial arm, you can change gear in a 20th of a second?

TF also swapped the spring for me. I paid postage one way, to return it. Always faultless service from them.

Mons Royale do lovely merino ones. Or Icebreaker. Expensive but they last for years.

My polo (3rd car with no handbrake) rolled down and across my street on lock, up the steps of the very steep hill joining my road, knocked the neighbours wall over and then rolled slowly on to its roof . . On top of his MGF.
Very pregnant wife couldn’t stop laughing. We both knew I’d done him a favour.

Just as well it did. I’ve a set of those to fit to my new frame so I’ve bought the bolts just in case those are the ‘missing’ parts I need to complete the build up.
    Excellent random forum work chaps.

Whereabouts are you based. I’m in West Berks but like this sort of job, always going for ‘interesting’ over boring and straightforward.

I’m also in West Berks. Newbury to be exact. There’s some decent riding round here and if I can be arsed to stick my bike in the van loads more around. Always up foe a ride.

I shall be there, racing and drinking much coffee and beer! Will the members area be well signposted, and what sort of capacity are we looking at therein?
