Lactic acid burn as you go anaerobic. Basically because you are unfit you aren't getting enought oxygen to your muscles for respiration to be efficient when you climb. You're body also isn't used to the effort of climbing and isn't coping with the lactate and very quickly it's building up in your muscles and causing the burn.

Ride more, climb more, get fitter, ride harder and faster, but as Lemond said…."it doesn't get easier, you just get faster".

Edge is called the edge for 2 reasons according to Bono….

He originally used to sit on the 'edge' of the group and not really join in much when they first got together and Edge's brother Dick was in the band….

Other reason is that he's got a pointy edge shaped head!

Joystick Maxx 2 is the newest version with smart port (the adaptor point can also be used to power a rear LED light etc).

Joystic Maxx is the previous incarnation and looks the same, has the same output (Maxx 3 hrs, mid 10 hrs and low 24 hrs).

Joystick is the original light with lower output and burn time, removable battey etc.

If you can live without the smartport then a bargain could be had with a Joystick Maxx.

    ace ride, ugly as sin.

find out of you'll get any customer service from CRC before you buy as they Sinister don't make it anymore and are have no uk importer atm IIRC…

External BB fits fine to the swift in the normal way. The threaded section of the Phil Wood ebb works in exactly the same way as normal BB threads.

Excellent choice of frame BTW! Cool bikes, geometery and look is spot on.

Deano and I had a good race…14th in mens pairs riding singlespeed. Interested to know if there were any singlespeed teams in front of us? I did 6 laps, Deano did 8. I should have snuck out for another one at 11:45 but could not be arsed….we'd probably snook into the top ten if I had.
Course was hard work, felt like lots of climbing but REALLY enjoyed the bombhole descent and the long fast one back off the top of the clifclimb.

    Great weekend.

I wouldn’t have thought so on the Off the peg model Brant….but the full custom looks very familiar in build style and I could probably take a guess at who put that particular set of tube together ;0)

Full custom is 853 protein with a stainless steel chainstay hence the lack of paint. Fillet brazed as thats currently the only way to get the stainlass stay to stick to the cromo BB shell and is also the builders prefered method of construction and it LOOKS NICE. Full custom geo AND can be built SS OR GEARED. And any Pantone colour you like.

Off the peg bike will be Tig welded 853, minus the stainless chainstay I believe and standard geo.
Spoke to Adrian at the show and gleened the pic and info there. BUT I had consumed a good deal of Innis and Gunn so all details may not be correct!

the three sections unscrew (back plate obviously comes off, then there is a thread between the main body and the front section. This is a tight fit as it’s not designed to be undone, but it could be.

BUT…send it to USE and get them to have a look…they can normally sort most problems. G.

don’t think sam is releasing the fork separately…i meant you can have a go on my singular bikes to get a feel for it if you like.

can measure the forks for you later…never know, sam might be able to sort you out with some.

thepilot…if you are near the north or south downs then you can try either of my singulars out.

I have proto hummingbird 69er (with the configuration of fork you are talking about so that it can also run a 26 inch front wheel and 120mm sus fork). See this months singletrack for a review.

also have proto gryphon which is a drop bar 29er.

That’s normal policy in most state schools and goes by the government guidlines.

Basically they unauthorise it, you still take him/her out of school for the week and it goes down as unauthorised. This means little unless your child has a history of being off a lot then you might get a visit from the EWO. Otherwise it’ll never be a problem.

Nothing to do with ‘we know best’. Although there is reasonable evidence and it’s reasonably obvious that prolonged periods of absence lead to poor exam performance. Also, as the school has to record it as unauthorsied then their % attendance goes down. This does not look good and is another government target that needs to be hit.

Take him to Florida, enjoy it, just don;t go to chuffin’ Disney if you want it to be educational ;0)
