Haven ridden both pushbikes and motorbikes off road I find the worst thing for making a mess of a trail is a horse. And it leaves shite everywhere too.
Loud pipes save lives.
No worries, will post one up over the next couple of days, I’m busy getting my shit together for Christmas just now. I done a solo European tour a couple of years earlier than the France trip. Got as far as slovenia. I’ll.put it up on my blog in the new year.
Get a grip GW. £1000???
I know the bike you’re talking about. For £1000 you wouldn’t get the grips on the bars. Its a proper classic. £2000 would be a more sensible offer.
Just add sugar and water. Follow the instructions and it should turn out good. Make sure its kept warm (comfortable room temperature) when brewing and store it in a cool place once kegged. I keep mine in the outhouse.
The only problems you should encounter with the brewing will be if you haven’t sterilised the equipment properly, or rinsed it off properly. After some use the kegs might need seals replaced so its usefull to have some spares kicking around but they are cheap as chips.
Go for it, you’ll have good beer and you’ll save a fortune. I have around 120 pints of various stuff in the shed that cost me around 40 quid to make.
Laptop. I(fanny)pads are ok till you use them. My mates Ipad slowed right down trying to browse the net! Utter shite. Nice if you’re of the apple mind though. They don’t work that well with anything other than apple, but they look good.
I’ve been up and seen them, they are pretty cool too look at up close. The best bit about the windfarms are the tracks around them. I can blat up them on the GS and feel like Ewan MacGregor. There’s just to many of the things now. Its ruined the novelty factor.
No way as good as nuclear bunkers. 😆
Don Simon – I did have a link to a website that showed what energy sources were powering the grid but I cant find the wensite. Epic fail on my behalf, I know.
GW, be up in half an hour, just after I’ve shaved…..
TJ, a few are quite nice, but now the lammys are covered in them. They’ve even destroyed an ancient right of way, the herring road, to build the windmills. They do (sometimes) produce energy but are in no way cost effective.
I’m going to get myself some waterproof over layers in case it rains. I’ll be able to dry any wet gear at work. The more I think about it the more convinced I’m getting. 🙂
With the wee Cubs you just need to be more “committed.” Plus they are super cheap and keep the miles off your big bike.
We even used the C90 as a drunken trials bike (don’t try this at home) at a mates party. Great fun!
Karinofnine – Depends on the bike. You’ll be nice and warm on something like a pan euro or old BMW and as my old man says “the thottle works baith ways..”
I’m a lazy bastard and my car cost me £300 3 years ago so I’m not too fussed about it. 🙂
My main reason for not cycling is that my old place of work was another town, only five miles away but down hill all the way there. On top of that there is often a headwind on the way back. I have a wee honda C90 that I used to use for work but there won’t be secure parking for it at my new building (pushbike can be kept inside), arguably that would be cheaper than cycling. It uses hardly any fuel compared to how much I eat after a big cycle. 😆
I’ll not have any really early mornings as the earliest I start is 9. Sometimes I’ll finish at 3.30am though. That’ll be cold in winter but ace in the summer time.
