Ha! Funny tinternerd hardman. You display all the classic symptoms of "small man syndrome".Personally I reckon you're eff all.
Knowing people as I do having served 8 years and being a payed up, badge wearing commando (regular not TA). Why don't you go back to bikegaydar or biketragic? You fitted in a lot better there.

    Yes of course you did.

Get a bit of flack and you get all hissy and shouty. If you'd actually served any time in HM Forces, you'd have a bit more of a spine than that.

I know who you are – you'd struggle ride up a small incline without gasping for breath nowadays. Still you can always hang on to your claimed past can't you?

My past is as I say it is mate and I'm bloody proud as it took a lot of hard work. If you knew who I was then you'd know this. Hence you obviously have no idea!
I'm also very calm, it would take far more than you to wind me up.
Talking of hissy and shouty; why were you banned from bikeradar again? Wasn't it for an argument about CARS?!?WTF?
I'm also riding up a lot steeper hills than you nowadays, don't you live in cornwall?

When my best mate had his little'un and the subject of christenings was mentioned my heart sank.
I really didn't want to be asked.
Luckily my mate knew me well enough to tell his wife that I'd be a great "uncle" (why is it always uncle?)taking him to play, bike rides, birthday pressies and I'd look out for him if anything happened to his mum and dad, but that I'd not want all the ceremony and religious hoohar.
So his brother in laws got the task instead….poor kid!!

I stayed here when I went to Exeter for a meeting.
About ten minutes down the bypass from Exeter, nice and quiet and the rooms/food were excellent.

I've got their stuff on my cross bike and road bike.
I have the sti shifters on the cross bike and I can't fault them.As easy to shift up as Shimano and a good solid down shift.
Also have the "Arsis" carbon rear mech on the road bike, running with Shimano Ultegra everything else. Not put a foot wrong so far.
I think Roy Hunt(Vets champ) runs it for cross.
Best thing about them is that when you're on the hoods you just knuckle to shift down, genius.

Thepodge, Chris at the Rodley shop was the mechanic at Chevin before he went to Crosstrax and you didn't hear too many complaints about chevins servicing.
Just out of interest, what was the terrible customer service you experienced?

Gutted Cheeky. And with the Alpine being freshly Knackerised back to perfection as well!
I'll keep an eye out for them while I'm about.
Chances are they'll be spotted at the bmx track or even at Thackley, they're likely to be that stupid.

Hope either me or knacker spots them, you'll have a scrote skin rug for by the fire place! 😆

airace pump roadI bought one of these from Chevin cycles last weekend when my oh so tiny lipstick sized pump died.

It works great and has a rubber hose that hides inside the main body so you dont snap your valves off.

pumped my road tyres back upto about 110 psi.(rock solid!)

If you're in Yorkshire then the Cavendish cafe in Bolton abbey is a good place to meet road racers on a Saturday morning.
Just jump on the back of the bunch as it leaves for Otley and beyond and along the way spark up a conversation.
I'm sure you'll get all the info you need to start racing.
And if you're still on the front at pool bank then you might also do quite well!
There's some good lads go out this way too,
    Scott Thwaites- Endura racing
    Tom Barras-Team Raleigh
    The Brownlees- world class triathletes
    Mark Thwaites- Team Giordana

As for Sportives not being racing and racers not being bothered with them…………….

Hoathwaite farm at Torver near Coniston.
No toilets ( you must take your own, there are emptying facilities), no showers ( there are taps dotted about though) but you can camp a stones throw from the lake.
It's a short but steep ride to grizedale, there's the Walna scar routes, also the bike path upto hodge close and langdale is very trail centre-esque.

I put these on my spesh front and rear when they first came out, I was given them to test by a friend who was sponsored to ride maxxis tyres.
I hated them! they rolled over, lost grip on the front,I had no confidence in them at all.

Then, I rode a yeti on a demo day.I commented how good the tyres were and upon inspection found them to be Crossmarks!!
However, the front was being run (ran?) back to front.
I put them back on my bike the "wrong" way round and they're still on now.
I've had them round dalby in the wet and bone dry,the lakes, whinlatter,Gisburn,Ilkley moor,Baildon moor,Ogden moor and I've raced them in the Calderdale mountain bike marathon, which is good mix of terrain.
They aren't the best tyre in the mud but they do cope and as long as you spin them quick they clear fairly well.
I've not punctured them yet either.
I see them as I see my cyclocross tyres, they dont work well everywhere, but they're fast and 90% of the time thy're great.

the only place I change them is Llandegla in the wet.For some reason those little chipping stones that poke through the surface of the track make them slide like a hot knife through butter and it's "iffy" to say the least!!

Apart from that I love them.

Without doubt THE no1 mouse trap meal of choice is………….the humble fishmeal trout pellet!
Just grab a bag of 4mm sinking feed pellets from your local angling shop.
Set the trap, gently sprinkle them on the killing plate and wait for Trixie and Dixie to come a picnicking!

They won't be going to mouseville with Mr Jangles anymore, no siree!! 😆

I have a compact on my road bike 50/34 I think.I also have a 25 block on the back. The big ring gets used a lot and I'm not one of the top lads( I'm not slow either though).
In summer when the ground is hard and open the the big ring gets used a lot, I am a grinder though, I like to push big gears and in a 50 min cross race it's not going to break you.
I would like a smaller inner ring and a bigger outer for the 3 peaks though. It's always too hard up hill and I spin out on the way into Horton!
In winter mud though I do consider a smaller outer ring and bigger inner ring than this a good idea.
