March there are very few tris, although the Grizedale Duathlon may be just up your street, thats on March the 13th

April, there is the Skipton tri (its a sprint) and is very good (i will be doing it) thats north yorkshire and is on the 17th or there is another sprint distance, the kendal tri on the 24th April

may 22nd is the keswick mountain festival tri, another good event

or in june you have the capenwray sprint tri (i will be doing this one as well) another great event, with the swim being in the cleanest water in the UK

    Hope that helps

not done a day in the lakes, but from what i have heard it is a tough one, you mention that the Antwerp 70.3 is further, if you mean that Antwerp is further then you are right, however in terms of race distance they are both “middle distance”

What month do you want to do your Tri in?,

You obviously have a fitness base so no worries, get yourself a signed into one and get a training plan, it will be tough but definitely doable.

the wooden drop is easy once you have done it, but its a lot steeper than the pic shows.

I wimped out a few times, but now ace it every time after coming down the descent prior to it.

I prefer riding on my own (at night or day) something about the solitude. Anyway on a recent ride I stumbled into a gypsy camp with about 20 blokes stood round some burning trash all pi££ed. Made a sharp exit with a few of them shouting at me.

The various torches strapped to helmets are like Skodas. Everyone who has one always goes on about how its really a VW and just as good/powerful but cheaper.

The shed built lights are like Caterhams, super powerful, but a bit raw. Their owners will go on about how you don’t need the frills of the big brands.

Lights like Exposures are the equivalent of a BMW. No comprimises, they are the best. I guess not everyone apreciates this, but at least theres a choice for everyone.

Possibly the most sense anyone has made on STW – well put !

    Got a 2011 maxx d and a 2011 diablo, portable sun.

use them for road and MTB

A previous poster said that the toro was a tighter beam pattern, that may have been but Exposure confirmed that for 2011 the beam pattern on toro and maxx d is the same.

Love mine, very happy with the purchase.

there are some good 2010 deals out there, i have seen the joystick for £100

Get one (or two) you wont be dissapointed

Not much to do in my opinion for kids that age, except sand sun and sea.

i was going down the inside of the traffic as thats where the big red cycle lane is, was doing about 15mph, just didnt expect him to turn left, he was stationary in the queue and obviously got impatient so wanted to nip down a rat run. (he didnt indicate)

Yes i am a triathlete, the bars stay on all the time, i dont actually commute, i was coming back from a ride, ironicly i had my maxx d on the bike, but it was off which is what led me to thinking about if i had it on flash in daylight, might i have not hit him.

I am now a lot more carefull going down the inside of traffic 😉

and how can you mangle a shifter and a mech with no damage elsewhere??

I was going down the inside of a long queue of stationary traffic, one guy decided he wasnt going to wait in the traffic so swung hard left into a side road, we collided, my hands were on the hood, broke his wing mirror with my hand, dented the side of his car and the derraillier was pushed against the side of the car.

Not a huge amount of visible damage, but 11 speed has very little tolerances and the bike shop could not get it to index correctly, turns out some of the internal gubbins were damaged
