I rode around Loch Etive years ago, and found the top third of the route somewhat slower than the map looked…dunno if its any better now, but there were just lots of sheep trails along the southern side, until the main path kicks in. The northern side may be a better better, I know they did some work on it since then. There is a route out to Loch Awe from Etive, but never done it

I know I can replace hoses on brakes and have the bleed kit, but got a quote from a LBS to lenghten a second hand set of brakes I got. Turned out to be cheaper than buying the hose and olive kit from CRC and doing it myself! – just a thourght…?

I got an old rockhopper, generally with road tyres on for wife and child type rides…got this after an incident with a bike stand at a pub and a broken wheel on the yeti…also have compatibility issues with the child seat with the yeti.

I did have a think along those lines gecko, but also like the look of the wooden type bikes, moving onto a steel frame later. The wooden ones have limited steering, and not sure how to bodge that on a “normal” frame.

we had the isofix maxicosi seat, great when they are young as it also clips into the buggy, and when you engage the seat back into the car its a simple “click”, but expensive and not light weight for swapping between cars, but reasuring as you can’t do it wrong..

overvolting won’t do anything to the brightness – agreed, as its the amps which the LED draws which ultimately dictates how bright, however if there is an alternative to re-building a halogen set up with an LED kit which just plugs in is very interesting especially if its any good.

interested if that works, and if it gives more lightoutput that say a 20W halogen. what LEDs are they? Might try that with one of my plumbing fitting halogen bodges!
