Ive got plug in audible deterrents in the garage and shed, and not had an issue with rodents since installing them. So if you have an external watertight power point may be worth a punt? They dont appear to deter the cats which still think my garden is a thoroughfare, the nerf gun has deterred a few of these pesky feral bird killing thugs however.

As to increasing endurance, I think at the end of the day it’s just a matter of discipline

I was told this is wrong. From what I was told, for longer rides you need to teach your body to process carbs etc when your riding. Short rides only use your stored energy and don’t allow you to process anything new, so if you only do short rides, you will run out of energy as your body wont be able to process anything new. A mixture is the way forward. I’m currently doing a 40-50min turbo once a week or about 20km, and a 60-80km ride on a sat morning at an easier pace than the turbo. Im not doing this to loose weight, but aiming for a few sportives in the year.

I get this in a silver mondeo which isn’t really the most racy car out there. A lot of people just don’t know how to maintain a steady speed. But there are a lot of stupid board people as well…

Does the builder not get trade prices on such things?

but to keep him under the threshold for tax, may wish to not put it through his books??

There is enough plastic in the environment already, so IMO, plastic grass is a bad thing. However, I have a big petrol driven mower which keeps people from talking to me for 45mins every week or two. Lovely times.

Using a logitech K270 for the last 4 years. Cheap, reliable and appear to deal with the rigours of living in a bag, hotels, construction sites, working in the car etc. What’s not to want?

OP – yep, ours are like this. I think the “business model” is, you’re either well enough to wait, therefore you don’t really need to see a doctor, certainly not today, come back in a week or two for some tablets, or aren’t well enough to wait, so you should go to A&E. They do telephone apps which have been very useful however. And the locums when you get to see a Doc are great. I don’t think i have seen an actual Doc of the practice in about 5 years.

I have a pair of Big Bens on my jump bike, got them from planetx in a silly sale a year or two back. Not great on wet grass, but superb for canal towpath, tarmac etc.

I came here looking for a picture of the dog riding the horse and was disappointed..

A few years ago you needed a licence to use the canals in Scotland (this was not a well known fact) and this was free and downloadable from the website (before Scottish Canals were a thing). On a confrontation with a walker and their out of control dog i was told that i wasn’t allowed to use the canal on a bike. So I produced my licence and asked them for theirs. Obviously they didn’t have one, so i kindly escorted them off the canal at the closest point. Amazingly they obliged and apologised, …. still makes me laugh.

Summer i imagine would be lovely, winter would be a cold, damp challenge to life on board, your bikes would rust as well. Condensation on the hull would be a nightmare unless well insulated, which the ones i have seen are not. Having to move every week or two as well on most canals.

walk before you fly. so Width before height.

If I give dimensions to my wife in mm and m she doesn’t understand them. Give them in cm and she is quite happy. My MIL is another story on its own.

I changed the cables on mine which didn’t make much difference. Then i changed the jockey wheels after another thread on here and its made a massive difference.

Id put some rocks on that to protect the flowers that id planted, then id cut around the flowerbeds. The council will come to cut it, see that someone else has taken the bother and walk away… But i wouldnt post on social media that it was me… I do a similar thing already, but without the rocks and the land actually belongs to a neighbour, but he is a lazy $hite and doesnt look after it, so i do – is this social media?

I got some old office carpet tiles from our office refurb. Taped them down with some double sided tape. No car in the garage and the ones at the edge move around a little, but otherwise a good solution. They did suffer a bit after a flood a year or so ago but as they are rubber backed they did dry out eventually.

My nephews wife is from Ukraine. They have offered her cousins to come and stay with them in Glasgow until its safe to return. The UK government has refused them a visa as they are not a dependant of the uk citizen. So he has taken leave of his job as a doctor to go and help them out in their country.

central Scotland, nothing currently, bit damp, but that’s not unusual. As above this is exactly as forecast, with 80mph breeze to follow later afternoon into tomo morning. There is a real expectation of chaos later.
