Just fitted corrugated metal panels with an anti condensation layer.  So far so good.  Fitted a corrugated bitumen roof to my summer house and glad i didnt use the same on the garage roof as it would have needed more work on the frame. Waiting on the disposal of the asbestos now.  Like the idea of SIP.

Thanks folks. The current roof has a shallow apex, (about 20deg ish). I have currently got foil bubble wrap stuff stuck to the underside of the roof panels and almost entirely eliminated the condensation issue, which is why I don’t want to go back there. So thinking that I go OSB, with insulation and bitumen panels on top. Will I need to worry that the osb will get damp and rot and need replacing in 5 yes?

I’ve missed the last few as my daughter’s dance show has been this weekend, but this year is definitely now penciled into the diary.

Oh, good point. I hit 70kph at the weekend on the road bike, which would be in excess of 500rpm. So yeah. Will have a look at the battery.

Unless the EMP is part of the planning consent, there might be nothing you can do, as its used as a guide for the contractor. But if there is nuisance or its part of planning, contact the local council and complain.

If it didn’t millions of people wouldn’t do it and there wouldn’t be a multi-billion drinks industry

So you think that the drinks industry would stop what they are doing if someone found it wasnt good for you, but they carried on wanting to drink anyway? Like smoking. Big business does not care if your unwell, they only care they are making money from you.

Most of my MTB-ing involves getting in the car. Most of my road riding I do from the front door – gravel riding is also a carless ideal. Easy, cheap, quiet Sunday mornings, often with a coffee/cake involved somewhere i would rarely drive to.

We stayed in the Holiday Inn in Lancaster going back north from France a couple of years ago. The only redeaming feature of an otherwise horrid hotel was it had a pool and it was on the river. Nice walk along the river.

judging by the way they have toe boards, two horizontal rails on the working platform and fully boarded out platform, they are way ahead of the majority of domestic scaffolds i have seen.
Yes it should be built and signed off before being used, and checked weekly at least, but you should be impressed by the standard…from a loading point of view, a couple of people working on it is significantly different to say when its got a full pallet of tiles or a full roof of tiles piled up on it…

you can’t speed on a bicycle on the road, as there is no limit

Interesting, as a group of us were stopped a few years ago by the Police when descending into a North Yorkshire village and we were told we were speeding and not to do it again…

Pre-covid, we would head somewhere warm where MrsYeti and kids would hang around the pool getting tanned, whilst i would do the four points of the compass and explore the area. Visits to Silverstone, BTCC, London, etc have filled this year, and my feet have never had so many blisters. Its been great!

I was wondering this yesterday, whilst on my mtb framed, drop bar 29er, which clearly doesnt fit in anywhere. On the canal most of the folk i passed said hi, but the gravel sporn of the roadies i passed made a distinct effort to ignore my good mornings. So much so that i started saying “thanks for the morning banter” and other such quips after they had ignored me in passing.

    T-shirt printing sheets

We did this for our trip to Silverstone. Cheap T shirts, silly stuff printed on, absolutely unique design know one else had and got loads of questions of where we got them from.. Great for a one off event, not sure how many washes they will take.

the size chart is rather misleading.

B Head tube, on the drawing is labelled D
E Seat tube on the drawing is labelled A
G BB drop on the drawing is H

    etc.

Ive only done the bit in and around Liverpool, so cannot comment on the other 100miles or so, but its rough. Something with a big volume tyre would be good, i was on a 2.1″ tyre at 40psi, with no suspension and found it tough to keep a high speed due to the nature of the surface.

I was thinking that planning would be intertested as i would be altering the front of the property. But yes, building regs as well.

Good stuff. Aimed for 9, got in for about 10. Kids loved it, loads of signatures from the BTCC drivers, Lewis Hamilton’s brother, Plato, Chilton etc etc as well as the other classes. Up close and personal with the racing, and the weather even played ball and got all sunny in the afternoon which is not really like Knockhill! First time at a big event up at Knockhill and as above, really well organised, no big gaps in the racing and a full day of events. Finished in time to listen to the ladies football in the que to get out as well..

Bleed it fully. There will be instructions somewhere on the web for your brakes. There is air trapped somehwere in your system and won’t just bubble out on its own.

When i was about 16, i had chicken box very badly. This left me covered in literally thousands of chicken pox scabs. Possibly the most satisfying thing ever pealing those off over days during my recovery..

My daughter just passed her 4th year at T1D and we drove to France 2 weeks after diagnosis. Assuming your going somewhere warm, we have noticed that her levels are much easier to control in a warm environment than at home. I understand the G6 doesnt like to go swimming for more than an hour or so, and no deep diving. Frio packs are good to keep the insulin cool and/or hire a fridge in the room and when travelling. Hope you have a good time.

We use a tesco points. So far this year, it paid for a weekend away in a 5Star hotel, family visits to varous different “attractions” in London including the Shard (which there would have been no chance of me paying for if i had to pay for it). As well as the Silverstone Museum and various cinema tickets and other “stuff” often at Christmas. usually redeeming at 3x value. Also often reducing £50 bills to under £40 by buying the Clubcard stuff, And most of the points come from the works fuel card. yes its gathering data, and leading you to buy certain products, but they don’t own us do they???

With alcohol you can be completely free of it within 24, to 48h tops, but with weed it can register as being in your system weeks later. So while it might register on their device, you arent under the effect of it.

From what i understand this is wrong. Otherwise the likes of network rail, most power companies and many construction companies wouldn’t throw you off site for testing positive.

About 10 years after leaving uni in Edinburgh, i got invited to an engagement do for a friend from Uni, who i hadn’t seen for a few years. Walked into their flat to be met by one of my best mates from school (from yorkshire, with no known connection to Scotland) who i’d lost contact with who was now my friends fiancé.

Another one, where we were driving through a very remote northern Norway fiord, and saw a vehicle. So as it had UK plates we approached for a chat. Turns out that they were in the same mountaineering club as my brother in Aberdeen.

And the last one, when doing the Pedal for Scotland with my daughter, i took a selfie a the start of her and me. After putting it up on FB later that day it turns out that one of my mountain bike mates from our meet up/fb group was stood next to us and smiled at the camera as i did a the selfie, neither of us had noticed a the time as we weren’t in mtb kit.

I had a car stop and shout at me after a close pass after i had raised an arm and shouted at them (if it helps they were in an audi Q7). Part way through the following “conversation”, the “lady” in the passenger seat said that her husband was a fu*&ing cyclist too, and something along the lines of i needed to get the Fu%$ out of their way and i was holding them up as they had to stop and shout at me. I had enough at this point and told them to fu^$ off and rode away. I then got berated by them as they pulled in front of me again, for swearing in front of their kid in the back, who had obviously witnessed this whole episode of trying to bully another road user even though (in my eyes) they were in the wrong and continued to be in the wrong, which i tried to explain at the time.

This was about 2 years ago now and i still get cross about it, not just the close pass, but the subsequent bullying behaviour by stopping the trying to argue about it, several times, but the poor child in the back will have been exposed to this rubbish for years now.

A mate and i went to a McDonalds drive through by bike in central scotland during lockdown. My order was taken, then at the next window they refused to serve us on H&S grounds. We went and sat at the outdoor seats to have a choc bar and water and then The manager brought our coffees out to us, for free, as she couldn’t sell them to us. Stupid rule, but great people…
