I would love to own one of your lights troutie but i cant justify the cost. Its not a dig at your pricing…most high end lights are insanely expensive. If i didnt get a troutie id get an exposure.

My DX light lasted me just over a year, then i replaced it for about £35 and reused the old batteries. I hate the throwaway society but its hard to avoid. 😕

Why are people getting wound up so much, someone doesnt think supercars should be allowed/used on public roads. Thats just their opinion ffs.

FWIW my opinion is I dont care what people drive, as long as they do it safely. Id rather see celebrities doing 100mph down A roads than the local chav doing 40-50 down 30mph roads. I wonder which one causes more peds and innocent motorists to die.

does anyone remember the story recently about the polish blokes who stole 8k worth of Garmins or something?

Yes, because the poles are really stealing the most from businesses im sure.

i cant see how a stem-knee interface error would occur from wheel slippage.

Everyone i know runs one on the drive side. I use the on one chain tug which was a fiver and works okay.

poppers are total fail. I had some roller hockey pads with poppers, even sweat rusted them so fast most people only had 1-2 of the 4 original poppers. Most pads now are coming with velcro…

My knee pads have a 4 inch wide strip of velcro that is about 8 inches of attachement area. Never any trouble.

i love the engineer comments – i worked in a bike shop(..okay halfords) for 18 months and the engineer line comes out quite regularly. Once every 2-3 months and i only did 8 hours a week! I hate to think what its like for full time bike shop staff.

even riding all through the winter my pro2s are faultless after about a year of use. The rims are also amazing. You should be able to get the hope built set for around 260 quid if you look.

I played roller hockey to a regional level at about 14-15 years old. Not sure if its what aracer is talking about though. I play the one referred to as “rink hockey” in the EU on quad skates and a stack that is the same as REALLY old field hockey sticks. Good fun, nobody cries about getting hurt like in football.

Try going down a steep hill on a fixed, you VERY quickly learn how to pedal properly. At 150rpm + you cant just wing it, you have to work just to keep your feet on the pedals even with spds.

I’ve seen a fella with no legs on a recumbnant looking bike where the cranks were the handlebars. Quite a good product i felt and not stupid like that pos.

iDave, you change bikes between stages and even on a stage so i guess he could do that!

I, or someone in the group, always asks if people we go past are okay. They could have concussion or something! It only takes 2 seconds and a minor slowing down and everyone feels good afterwards.

    mmhhmmm warm and fuzzy.

Meandering further off topic – I love it when people slow down waiting to pass me and forget to change gear. The sound of a car chugging from 15 up to 30mph in 4th or even 5th is a real pleasure.

And meandering back – Doesnt the highway code say if a bike is travelling at a reasonable speed, ie 18mph or more on a road that isnt a 60 it cant be considered as impeding traffic. I know some tractors go this slow!

regardless of which side of the fence you stand – elmos last point is unforgivable. One person died for whatever reason. There are 90 people dead in norway who had no choice.

I dont think yunki or others are saying EVERYONE has a choice to take drugs, for a significant amount of people it may seem the only option even if I personally dont think it is. Its much harder to see the best option from the easy option.

Ive seen a lot of people who are of average intelligience with good backgrounds, they could all of gone to university and attained good jobs. Instead they chose to drink, party and waste 4 years of their life. Im coming to the end of university with a job already lined up and most of them are still iving at home with part time jobs at tesco. Im not saying drugs made this happen but it played a part in some of their lives along with copious amounts of alcohol.

Whenever you drug-advocates (see, i can be small minded too) say those of us on the other side are being naive. How about you explain that point and stop talking shit. You are choosing to see our viewpoints as small minded and dont really know your own argument.

I can tell you, from first hard experience, a little story.

One of my friends got chucked out of his home by his mum, I offered to take him in. For the first 4-5 months he paid no rent until he eventually got a job. I told him he couldnt smoke in the house or smoke weed on the property but he ignored both of these simple rules. In the end he stopped paying rent so he could buy alcohol and weed. Is this fair on the people around you? no. He lost a brilliant girlfriend and lost ALL of his friends. Think about people who arent drug users when you take drugs and how intimidating and annoying drug taking can be for them.

Final word – just lock this thread now and bin it.

used it on the sides occasionaly but dont see the point – it doesnt last and muc off and a bit of a scrub gives similar results.

Be careful not to get it on disc rotors, not as bad as grease but still affects braking. Wet mud slathered on generously will sort it out if you do though.

I barely ever post but occasionally make posts to try and wind people up, i doubt it ever works. The thing is, because my post count is so low im not a recognised person and as such i think i get away with it ALL THE TIME.

The first time someone said “full-fat coke” to me, i found it a slightly amusing if odd way of describing the relative sugar levels. Now, after the billionth time someone has asked me the same question, I just want to kill them.

This is the most interesting part of bivvying, this here thread. I never knew the world of bivvying is like the world of road cycling. All these little rules no one ever talks about but must be obeyed.

if your going to go for a laugh and not really worried about going fast then i would go for forks on the front if they arent to heavy. I love rigid but its not always the best idea in a place youve never ridden before.

MTG i’ve seen one of those ridden and you almost always have one foot on the floor. Also i think that picture is innacurate. Fairly centre they have a small amount of rake. Not much though so probably tough to ride.

wow this sounds like a really secret spot, near to some electricity pylons that have access kept open in case they need to be repaired.

Perhaps if people used their bikes instead of cars they would find lots more “secret trails” or even good local trails. I live in the middle of portsmouth and can do a 12 mile loop with 9 of it being offroad and no repeats. edit: thats without leaving the island.

I dont see anything wrong with the stem if its being used on a mountain stage or by a protected rider – A slightly more comfortable bike would be very useful if you dont have to worry about the wind resistance.

The only people who ride brakeless fixies are either stupid fast couriers or idiot fashionistas who have such a low gear they cant break past 10 mph.

Its a shame, i want one to race me.

edit: i think mattscom needs a new front brake, mine is the shittest of the shit and it can still lift the back wheel with my weight on the saddle.
