The problem is not the tiny bit of snow that blocks us southern-ponces in. Its the fact the country just doesnt nkow how to deal with these things. My road turned to ice last year – doesnt matter if you have a 4×4 only studded tyres will grip on ice.

Get off your high horses for god sake. Being prepared is just that – being prepared. If people want to spend a little to feel good about the coming seasons (instead of thinking about the next 6 months of rain) let them!

Wow, i used to race 1/8th nitros. Man they are stupid expensive. Bikes are cheap in comparison simply down to the value!

I remember traxxas being a bit like specialized. Good stuff, not the best value but reliable and easy to get spare bits for. I doubt you will go wrong with one.

Interesting to see all the elctric developments awell.

Yes the test is **** anal, thats the point. Still i think it should be harder because there are some right **** idiots on the road. And about no one noticing your driving faults, im sure they would. I notice every single fault (a normal, ie not police pursuit driver, would make) anyone makes whilst driving. Whether thats me or someone else driving. I quite often tell them about it if i think it will benefit them although most of the time people have a hissy fit if you tell them thy have done something wrong.

For god sake though mate, when you pass do a skid pan course. You’ll realise just how easy it is for your little buddies in their 1.1 saxos to lose control on a roundabout. Even a passenger moving 6 inches can make a car lose control! I was shown this and its scary!

I think saying DX lights are good value whereas trout/exposure arent is silly. They offer different products. One is a budget choice and the other is the super-bells-and-whistles choice.

At the minute I ride with DX lights simply because its all I can afford. If they last a year I’m happy because it costs less than £50 to replace it.

In the future when I have a bit more money i’ll probably go for exposure simply because they have the integrated battery pack, waterproofing and good warranty/after sales. If troutie lights had integrated battery packs, for me, they would be more enticing.

Perhaps in ideal conditions 500 lumens is reasonable. However in sideways rain down narrow tracks where there are many hidden roots and various nasties i want as much light as man can create.

go home, but please dont drive if you are having trouble concentrating and balancing. Get someone to drive you home/take a train or taxi. What if you have a lapse of concentration and kill someone?

p.s this isnt judmentalworld advice, I have done the same in the past.

I believe that tests shouldnt be made much harder but yes they need a shake up. The first thing i would do is introduce some sort of shock factor. For example in a safish environment do something to REALLY disturb the driver like chucking a dead child doll in front of the car and see how they react. Ive seen so many drivers drive into a dangerous situation and just lock up or do nothing. The only time i was nearly hit by a car seriously was a girl driving and she literally just accelerated instead of braking whilst screaming !

the Glen Aber has some good breakfast, ive not tried the dinners though!

I was unimpresed by Stables Bistro, very poor quality food from what i ate and also very loud and busy in a bad way.

Unfortunately I cannot remember the name of the best restaurant. It served normal sorts of foods but was cooked incredibly well for a few quid extra. All I remember is it had a chefs en suise or something, chefs selection in french basically! It was the best meal ive ever eaten out.

A lot of clubs have this rule.

Replace helmet with seatbelt, bike with car and group with country. Whats the difference?

you can fit the drive train in reverse on a fixie. Its 100% possible, its even possible to do it ‘properly’.

Everyone should give fixed mtb a go, it makes you realise how much of a wimp you are being on a geared/suspended/freewheeling bike. The feeling of pedals smashing on stuff is disconcerting in a good kind of way. And skidding your arse down steep inclines is brilliant fun and veyr sketchy.

pretty old video but i dont see why anyone feels sympathy for the runt. He picked a fight with cassey and got the shit kicked out of him. Do you think this was the first instance of bullying whether it be physical or mental ? Maybe he wont try it on again…

Of course, contact the bus company directly (in person?) and the police. I would also contact your council and ask who to speak to. I once saw a taxi driver making some stupid manouvers. The council ended up telling his employers to warn him, not much but hopefuly he’ll think twice before doing it again.

Ive not seen the thread but ive been dealing with this for 18 months now, in my opinion get some white spirit in a spray bottle and apply directly to the leaves.

I would recommend doing that after removing the majority with other methods such as cutting + burning (still a bad idea) and also cutting then pouring weedkiller in teh stem.

But seriously – white spirit is the way forward. It kills it in less than 24 hours in a specific patch.

I live down in portsmouth (MTB mecca NOT) and theres lots of riding, most it however is cheeky or unmarked so im sure up in winchester there must be loads. If your looking for more trail centrey type riding there is swinley obviously and peaslake which is awesome. There is also QE but thats only a very short XC loop.

Relish the oppurtunity to explore my good man!

Im glad people can finally discuss this with a level head. Its boring when people just bring out the good old “SHOOT THEM DEAD IN THE STREET.” argument.

I think the article sums it up nicely but, a lot like political cartoons, won’t make a blind bit of difference really.

i looked at plusnet when i moved house, seemed like really good reviews but in the end i went with a local company called newnet. They are based about 5 miles away from my house and are realyl good to talk to. I pay roughly £20 for 24mb(i get 14-16) uncapped internet. Its worth checking for some local providers – In my experience the service is better.

altaz and mrsalmon im not interested in arguing on the internet, its pointless. Im just saying the BBCs reporting is shit. I wish it were better.

It also seems anyone who comes out with a point that isnt “KILL THE ****” gets flamed down by everyone else. Its just a difference in opinion. Whats wrong with that?

Has anyone noticed how biassed towards the goverment/police the BBC’s reporting is?

Its a shame there are 14million people on the brink of dying in africa, otherwise we might get Al Jazeera reporting ACCURATELY what is happening in these riots.

if you wanna be cool you need a fixed mtb. SS MTB is for wimps who arent hard enough to take the next step.

(in all seriousness fixed mtb is a right hoot, even harder than ss)

I cant offer you much advice other than if the girl is 18 its a pretty sensitive time. I know some of my friends have had stuff happen to them between 16-20 that has completely derailed their lives. Perhaps it would be better in a few years when things aren’t so hormonal and changing as it is.

I love cwm rhaeder, because its short you can session it a few times. Theres a few little bits where you can ride differently as you get better at it. In one place theres a sort of natural berm which if you want you can hit with speed and fly round the corner. Good fun :D Few little jumps/drops you can go off. Probably not a ‘training’ ride for jumpin though. Dunno!

Why is it to expensive for a car that has –

been kept in a garage its whole life
    have FSH (i assume)

Again if its got a shit engine not worth it. If its a VAG TDI they will last forever. It would be pretty obvious when you go and look at the car whether it has been maintained to the standard they say.

Got a link to a skoda octavia more recent in the proposed condition and mileage for that price?

    yesiamtom

depends on engine imo, if its the 1.6 petrol or sdi diesel that are a bit naff. The TDI’s or VRS’s are nice. From what i can gather the 1.8 turbo fall apart a bit.
