Theres no way thats meant to happen! Warranty surely? Unless they are really old or your quite clearly smashed that part of the crank repeatadely and most likely with some 3 foot long sledgehammer.

I’ve seen snakes on a train but not snakes on a plain and i can hoenstly say its one of the worst movies i have ever seen. Its not even good in a shit kind of way.

i wish this was a troll but sadly i think its real :?

Its like people who expect mech hangers ot be covered under warranty. Even after you calmly and clearly explain to them why they are there and that they are designed to fail they dont believe you. Whats even funnier is when they start to say they are a engineer and can see the part isn’t built correctly because of x y z reasons.

i picked up some xtr’s for £30 brand new with cleats…

Looking at them and from what ive heard m540’s are the same as XTs which are 99% the same as XTRs. The XTRs have some fancy low friction coating.

    **** knows!

i thought it was very funny when i went to cwm crn and got to the top of twrch. Where you have that little black/red section wit hthe nice berms and jumps there was so much shit at the top of it. Lots of relentless monster etc. I can only imagine it was left by teenagers (im only 19;)) who got a lift up there with their mum and thought they were the best riders in the world…

first ive ever heard of slippping!

Shimano are great hubs. One of the best in fact. Many people just can’t see past that little anti-niche shimano logo.

myt experience is the same as the above posters. Ive done some smallish jumps smoothly and some drop offs where of juts under a foot where i landed front heavy a few times and they are fine. I only weigh 10’4 though so not a heavy rider.

but realman. A tandem has a much longer wheelbase than a regular bike so surely given sufficient rider skill and good tyre/brake setup the tandem will stop significantly quicker as the back end wont lift up so fast. I often find, when my brakes actually work, that this is the real limiting factor. Unless of course its shitty mud or ..gravel.

I just realised im agreeing wtih your realman. Reading ftw.

has no one noticed she braked literally just after a small drop down? He hit that at the moment she braked so he pretty much landed on her back wheel.

How the **** is he meant to brake in that situation ?

i like all the “in my day” posters who are fooling themselves they arent “in my day” posters.

Its not that it may smell its teh fact your child will very quickly get used to the smell of cigarettes and may even become accustomed to nicotine. Ive never touched a fag in my life and never will but i can happily stand near smokers (as long as its not cigars) because ive always socialised with older people and generally they smoke.

I know people whoes family smoke and guess what? They smoke. They do drugs. They drink excessively and their life is going nowhere. People i know whoes families dont smoke are, in my experience, far more successful.

If it was my child i wouldnt let a smoker near them. Buy her some nicotine gum….

i know someone with a 1×9 commuter that has the large 44t ramped ring in the regular position and it falls of frequently enough to be a problem.

I know someone who used a 1×9 with a 32t in the central position and it fell of less frequently but still frequently enough to be annoying.

Then i hear TJ does it with no problems what so ever.

Not flaming just saying it how i see it. :D

My god most peopple walk PAST their tvs when they enter/leave the room. It takes literally no effort to press the button.

Sometimes people take energy saving to far trying to impose it on other people but some things are just a huge waste.

i work in halfords (i know) and recently THREE people who work at the shop i work at have bought them. Initial impressions are very good, the crankset is good quality truvativ stuff. I cant remember what the wheels are but seem to be of good quality given the price. The brakes are tektro v-brakes so are pretty powerful for a road bike. The freewheel looks like a cheapo Diamondback quality one which isnt awful but not the best but who cares abotu that? Its fixed baby!!!

Also, if you can CTW them than youll get it for a smidge over £120 i think.

Only problem is they are **** impossible to get hold of! We had to DHL all three of them from other stores. Please go and whine at your store to get them so head office realises they are awesome and need to be sold.

i hear you can get cheaper insurance if you join car clubs and then use their discounted insurers. So if you buy a jap car join a japanese car club for example. Usually only cost £10-20 to join.

started running the other day and found (probably like others here) my legs absolutely cannot take the stress but aerobically its no problem.

Im sort of planing to try and do a marathon as fast as possible. So far done two weeks of “training” but only just decided to try for it. Hope to start in earnest by the end of this week with a real pair of running shoes.

if someone offers to buy something and you dont want it to be sold on check they arent a serial wheeler dealer.

But report him on ebay asap, even if its only been done a few times they should do him for it.

on my rigid/hardtail bike i can do about 1 foot drops max. I reckon if you were to put me on a 8" travel bike i could add another foot onto it without too much trouble.

Some of these riders must be buying skill compensators (suspension mainly) that enables them to do more riding that is technical. So i guess they are doing something that is extreme for them even if it seems tame for you.

    who cares about balanced opinion?

If someone asked me what i thought of religion i would tell them i think "its a **** joke." Im entitled to my opinion and thats it. I once got asked what i thought jesus was and told the nice lady i thought he was a terrorist along the same lines as Osama Bin Laden.

Something that wont get me flamed like a tit for actually posting that then…Yes* family members may molest more children than religion but you are part of a family and have relatives end of story. You dont have to be a part of the church unless someone else forces you into it. Do you really think children (if given an adults ability to analyse situations) would join up to the catholic faith, get molested and still remain faithful?

*im takign your words on this.

got them for my order than took a week to turn up ??? :|

put two in my bottle and thought it tasted like shit. Went for a jog and the bicarb just made me feel like i was going to throw up. Stopped drinking halfway through it.

the 40% fat thing is because it has caffiene. If you want that just go buy some off ebay and add it to your drinks or take itb efore hand. You wont notice the horrific taste like those Go tablet things.

i think you need to approach local riding with a different view. Its not just about hurtling down fast paths and jumping and all that stuff. Its also about exploring little-known places that youve lived near your entire life and sometimes about beasting yourself as hard as you can to get fitter.

ive heard road riders saying they tape the little pull of tab to their top tube so it can be ripped off. The top tab gets left on the bike for cleanup later and you can stast the rest in a pocket somewhere. I put them in one of the net pockets on my rucksack. Easily accessible whilst on the bike.

I only left college a year and a half ago but i got £30 a week. My parents reasoning was this is what i would get on EMA if my parents didnt earn what they did. I wouldnt say they are rich but are well off financially. Being 60 with no mortage is obviously quite nice!

Regardless though of how much they make I have friends whos parents dont relaly pay for anything for them. My girlfriends parents said she had to pay her own way through uni whilst they waste moeny on new tvs every year or so and always buying new or near new cars. It sickens me when someone treats younger people/their children in a certain wya just because they were treated like that. Grow the **** up frankly.

That said I think molgrips is pretty on the mark with the having a review. I'm not saying spoil here because all us 'kids' need to be loaded but making kids work when they should be learning is not a good idea.

going from 30 miles to 40 miles is a bit more difficult though! One day ill crack 50 and then maybe onto SDW 100.
