• Freight Worse Than Death? Slopestyle on a Train!

In theory it could, but it doesn’t.

Speed on screen is calculated from the power you are currently generating, not trainer wheel speed. In non-training mode the resistance is based on the current slope. The only adjustment you have control over is how much of that current slope is reported to the trainer. From 0-100% of the on screen slope https://zwift.com/news/4306-zwift-how-to-adjust-your-trainer-difficulty?__znl=en-gb

If your gearing is set ok, you could set difficulty very low and it would feel like you were racing on a flat course. But you would speed up and slow down as the road tilted down or up to match your current power. If you gears easy you might just end up spinning out when trying to put the power down.

Thanks for the ideas. Will give LG a miss, did the bottom part at the Aviemore end a couple of years ago and it was great, sounds like that is the best/only way to ride it.

Plenty of showers forecast, will take my snorkel for the bogs

Not very grippy and too small for my giant feet but work for my daily commute in flats and clipped in for road rides. They mostly seem to stay the right way up once you have picked one for that ride, lift foot off on the upstroke and the pedal flips if wrong way up

It wouldn’t be very effective:
You have to keep the temperature of the radiator above the dew point else you will get condensation which will collect in a puddle on the floor ruining your fancy solid wood flooring. So at 21 degrees and 50% RH that is 10 degrees.

With a temperature difference (Delta t) between the radiator and the room of 11 degrees the radiator will only absorb 10% of it’s rated heat output. And thats ignoring the fact that it should be mounted at the top of the wall else you will end up with cool feet and a warm head as the cold air falls.

So a radiator that keeps the inside 25 degrees warmer than the outside would be only be able to drop the room temperature a few degrees. And you still have to get dump the heat somewhere.

TL;DR Won’t work because physics

Was a little cool and grey last weekend, but hail just brushes off and the trails were dry, even dusty in places!

So wonderfully big and empty, proper killer loop territory

Why so anti China and the Far East?

I don’t think anyone complains that these boats are made in China…

Interesting calculator to work out your speed. Enter negative numbers for gradient and headwind to get descents and tailwinds.

Managed about 51mph down the Devils Elbow with a tailwind on loaded touring bike.

Never seem to get more than about 30mph offroad on the mtb before I wimp out.

Bolivia with the guys from gravity on their day off. Uplift starts at about 3600m then goes up.

Pic is about halfway down
