Great game! Here’s another couple. 1 easy and maybe 2 is a touch harder:

I have only really made a little bit of the album there. Might have to get the string out and makes some more if it isn’t obvious soon.

Good grief, it’s pants. The sort of thing you get in a bulk cheap pack from tescos with your grocery shop then you don’t think about for a year or so. So then, what’s all this about? Pants got technical?

I thought panel van based combis, if m1, are still fine in Sheffield and other class C CAZs. Do you know if/when Sheffield is changing from that?

Fair enough Lummox. I got turfed off by a farmer before, well it’s more he drove his tractor close to us so we woke up, but we took the hint.

Probably worth the effort to get down to Dartmoor though. Easy on public transport too with rail stations at north and south edges.

Yes, it’s an upgrade and GRIP is better than motion control imo. A small weight saving too. The rhythms will be stiffer than the 32 stepcast too, but heavier. So only really worth spending lots on the 32 SC if you need the weight saving. If not, the rhythms will be good.

Another small consideration is that the rhythms are far better in claggy mud than the 32 SC as the whole fork is wider, like all boost forks, giving more mud room. Stepcast pulls the legs closer together so clogging at the arch in claggy conditions happens, unless you run narrow tyres.

Well, I suppose it is similar. The OP’s website is a directory of campsites with no facilities.

    Yak

But that (greenercamping.org) is a campsite directory. Facilities etc.

Hmm dunno. Wild camping has already been monetised in Loch Lomond and the Trossachs at £4.50 per tent per night for some peak areas in peak months. £10-20 seems a big step above that.

Twist. Einhell is perfectly functional for occasional use. If you are a heavier user, not so good. I have a einhell mower and just about to use it now. But a few years in and it still cuts fine, the blade sharpens fine, but all the plastic bits are failing. So the handle and other parts will need some gaffer tape bodge fixes soon etc. Given the likely replacement needed next year, maybe, then thats a new mower to replacement in 4 years. Yeah it was cheaper than premium brands but probably not cheaper in the long run.

Good luck blokeuptheroad. My mate had the op on both hands and it was a success and he is back to climbing hard again. My hands look lumpy like your left hand, but maybe a bit worse and there is also some ring pulley injury too which causes a bit of curve.

Unlucky and probably slightly worse than worms….but you know they are imminent.

Sorry, got that wrong. You need a boost chainring to move it out and give more room. Non-boost is going the wrong way and closer to the chainstays. So a 3mm offset chainring to fit a direct mount (3 bolt) sram crank would be the boost position. But if you want more clearance, then superstar make a 0mm offset direct mount chainring, so would gain 3mm over the boost position.

Bird AM9. Decent spec to your choice and should be able to hit the budget as the frames are reduced now giving more ££ for the rest of the build to get it spot on for your idea of trail/enduro.

    Yak
    Full Member

Yeah, if sram, then a non-boost chainring will give a little more room, or any similar variation to get to a non-boost position. What crank do you have?

    Yak

Probably 24psi front and 26psi rear to start with. Bit more if squirmy, bit less if it’s pinging off things.

Properly seasoned dry ones from a local log supplier if buying now. If you have access to free wood, get it in now, cut, split and season for next year. Ash, birch, oak, most hardwoods are fine. Softwoods fine too mostly. Kiln dried seems pointless though. There must be a local supplier near you?

I think in order of preference, I would go roofbars, seasucker then saris as a last resort. I haven’t used seasuckers, but whenever I see them, they seem pretty solid. It’s only front wheel off so not really much disassembly.

+1 for roof rails and bars. I ran a saris for a bit (on a civic )and it dented the top of the boot as the metal there is too thin to support the load. Not sure how much thicker/stiffer a minis boot would be.

    Smaller espresso? Not convinced.

Normal espresso at home (no pod) and a moka pot on small stove if out. Not sure how a moka pot/gas stove stacks up energy use wise, but certainly less waste/ manufacture of pods etc. I could improve things by switching to a small wood stove for outside use though.

Tubeless, sometimes a Vittoria xc insert, dynaplug.

Been quite a while, but a tube is carried though just in case.

So you could have a device that draws 100w, and charger that is delivering that and unwittingly stick a 15w cable in between the two (and thats assuming the off-brand cable is even capable of that)

Hmmm, that’s worrying given how no-one thinks about all that and tends to just grab whatever fits. It would be much better to make a usb standard that could handle the upper limits of usb charging.

Not raced any DH, but do watch it. Yeah, it’s got worse on Discovery and Rob Warner/ Red Bull was better…etc , but still it’s DH on tele so I will watch it. Same for xco, but I have raced xc before. Once the DH/XCO season is done then I will cancel Discovery and restart it next season.

Furry lined crocs ftw. You will look hot! Or at least your feet will be warm.

Anyway, ideal for indoor/outdoor slipper use. Putting the rubbish out, minor bike fettling in the garden, shouting at cats etc.

I haven’t snapped one, but as above, Thomson are known for faceplate/bolt lifespan issues, so maybe replace those. I wouldn’t have thought the main stem body would be much of an issue.  Or for peace of mind, go all in with a new stem/bar combo? I have broken one stem before though but that was an ultralight thing. Thomsons are a league heavier/ more durable than that.

There is a flavoured Elete, but we just have the standard neutral one. Makes the water taste slightly salty/ soft.

A squirt of lime sounds good too.

Yeah, it’s one of the other. Better off with sugars than sweetener, or go unsweetened.

Or what I did at the last race I did in 2021 was cramp up, lie on the floor trying to stretch it out and then scoffed 4 packets of ready salted crisps. Did the trick and I was back on the bike!

Try Elete . It’s just the salts, no sweeteners. Comes in a small dropper bottle. All that artificial sweetener nonsense is best avoided.

The WE front is great in softer conditions, but also fine on hardpack. When you push hard though the corner knobs on hardpack it makes a brbrbrbraaaaaaap noise. I find that quite reassuring as it tells me I am pushing hard enough. Rounder tyres don’t make that noise.

Branston or supermarket own brand stuff . Bookers probably tops them all though. Same for ketchup.
