But you were happy to have Voldemort's face sticking out the back of your head?

I googled it and still have no idea what that means.

Nice pic Toons, it almost looks like I'm posing, which of course I'm not!

I thought you were. Obviously I am as well. The hardened biker at the top of the hill. Moobs on show.

Just coughed up for that FS frame. Now on the hunt for forks. and most likely a decent solicitor for the divorce.

I wear monthlies, cheap as chips campers.

Besides, I've never seen the logic of trying to save money on stuff that allows you to have decent vision, glasses or otherwise.

I really don't like the idea of contact lenses, never have.

Went to Vision Express or some such place.

THey will do cycle glasses with the inserts for about 50 quid.

With built in lenses in the frames about 100 quid.

    Not bad at all.

Ditto! My Girlfriend lives up that way and I NEED places to ride round her for when she finally succumbs to my persistence!

    Cheers

I suggest buying her roses and wine, if she is reluctant.

Or are you talking about riding bikes?

I use flats and find that quite often my feet leave the pedals and then I have to pray to the trail fairies that they get back on.

I've never heard about the pumping thing, sounds interesting.

I was thinking of looking at Bolle safety specs. I'm sure they used to do prescription versions.

I'll have a proper look at that last link tomorrow.

    24v XM

My old man had one when I learnt to drive. It was always in the garage being fixed. I don't know if they ever realised it was because I was doing burn outs with and auto box or not.

Lucky it was a company car, so it cost us nowt.

    Thanks

A nice side profile of my gut. Next time it's either going to be gone or I will cling film up before the ride.

Great fun it was. Impressed with the riding and the company.

Sadly Rambo didn't make an appearance. I was half hoping for him to wrestle my bike from me and make off on it.

Why worry about depreciation and gap insurance

By a large Citroen C6 or C5 and let the previous owner take the his in the first two years, then grab it for a bag of pork scratchings and half a bitter.

    I'm off around Chopwell then.

    Before it pees down.

Any day is good for me otherwise.

    I'm ready to go now.

Not too worried about Rambo. Although with my day-glo orange jacket I will be the easiest target.

What do people think to quirrel's recommended tool set? Anything else worth considering? I don't want to spend shitloads ( <£50) to then learn that I have no mechanical nouse whatsoever.

Only thing I haven't been able to do so far with that toolkit was press in a headset (strangely enough)

I've got the mechanical knowledge of my big toe and so far have had great fun putting my bike together and tinkering with it and the other two bikes.

For 32 quid it was a bargain, compact and sits in my boot.

    Is Thrunton off then?

    Anybody fancy Chopwell instead?

I have an old fashioned style Zefal pump.

If I upgrade it will be to a Co2 cartridge one.

Probably why he robbed the chippy.

I thought he was up in Hexam yesterday after the police went flying up the A69 in the morning and the A68 was blocked.

Going to have a word with the fella if he stops my first excursion out to Thrunton tonight.

"Oi! You! Beefcake! Will you please stop running and have the final showdown. One wants to go for a ride tonight and you are causing roadblocks."

I shall use my free time to go and get an eye check up. I think it's been 5 years. I'll find out as well if they can do contacts for astygmatism or not now.

Then buy cheaper online (possibly) or just get sunny's and stop being a cheap bugger, and maybe even new glasses, but that would be pushing it. Same frames for 10 years now.

A proper google is bringing up some sensible prices ~50-100 quid which is tolerable.

    contact lenses?

Never worn them, never wanted to, can't justify the costs.

Thought about it when gas permeable lenses were common, but it's all throw away these days.

Having just googled – prescription sports sunglasses – ~190 quid. A tad pricey.

the big online retailers are guilty of putting the lowest prices on out of stock items so that you visit their site anyway and the sizes/ items that are in stock are significantly more expensive

That pisses me off no end when they do that.

Cool, will see you guys tomorrow night 7.30.

    Black avensis.

I hope I'm not being lured into some weird STW dogging experience out in the wild's of Northumberland.

If see any flashing headlights I'll be running a mile.

That's the missuss' bike. One of a few that comes in 13" that actually fitted.

The next model up the SL is a decent looking upgrade.

It was a nice run, really twisty through the trees

Go down through the main gate for the outer ring from the carpark. down the hill, take the right fork, down hill again right for should take you up a steep short hill

on the left is a drainage ditch that has a path in it, closely packed tree

In there is the route through the trees – look on the opposite side from the track and there is another bit coming down through the trees as well.

It has yellow tape which I thought was actually no entry, then realised it was between trees making a course.

Quirrle, no races are held at Chopwell, any tape you have found is not from a race.

    Interesting.

It was lined up as tape down between trees on the blue outer ring – will snap some photos

Let me know what the plans are for this weeks riding and I'm up for joining in

I like Chopwell, but I need something a bit different. Riding down the red run and back up to the top to practice is wearing thin.

I found one of the race routes, still marked out last week, which annoyed me that they yellow race tape had still been left on the trees.

Ice Toolz bike tool set – 32 quid online, fantastic deal, everything I needed – only thing it didn't have was wire cutters, so I used the good kitchen scissors for that.

Are you mountain gazelle's and race to the top or take it steady?

I live in Wylam, and have never been up there, it looks a lot more appealing than another evening at Chopwell.
