I do have his paypal address which is different to his email we used for correspondence.

Whack it in Facebook and see if there are any differences.

Then Google away on it and see what comes up.

If it's not a freebie account, check the headers in the email and see where it came from

He's into Citroen's joined a few Citroen clubs and posted for sale a few times.
No mention of any problems there.

May well be an issue elsewhere though, but there is his Facebook account anyway from his email address

    Good luck

This is what my first bike looked like, not my bike though.

Vaporized Maroon was the name of the colour.

Non-indexed gears, weighed a tonne, kept it until 1994 when I got a Shogun Trailbreaker with indexed gears – oh it was heaven.

Having a crush on Missy Giov

Former world downhill mountain bike champion Missy Giove had plead guilty to smuggling marijuana, capping what is likely one of the most spectacular tumbles from grace in all of action sports. The 37-year-old, featured last fall here retired from pro racing in 2003 after world championship titles and a flamboyant career peaking with her world title in 1994 and a sponsor contract that was the envy of all pro pedalers.

Last month Giove admitted her role in a 3-year smuggling operation, telling cops she took $30,000 to coordinate couriers shuttling marijuana from California to New York. Last summer, cops busted her in Illinois with 350 pounds of marijuana. They later found another 30 to 50 pounds of the weed at a co-conspirator’s home, along with more than $1 million cash.

She could face up to five years in federal prison. Sentencing is set for March.

at 20% effectiveness it was better to go straight to the hospital, where they'd do a test and then pump full of lariam anyway.

And the ability to mask it as well, in theory allowing it to infiltrate you further.

I never worried about it in SEA. Mozzy's never really bothered me anyway, other than the one bugger that nipped me and gave me dengue.

Being aware of your clothing, time of day etc is a better deterrent.

Caught dengue, that was nasty, but nowt I could do about it

I use an e-trex H combined with OS maps for exactly the purpose you specify and can't recommend it highly enough for this purpose. It also works with the equivalent French and Swiss maps for when you hit the Alps. I don't know how to use it with software etc. I'd use this in preference to the alternatives which have been suggested because it's got better battery life and reception. Be careful if you use it in the Alpujarras because there the maps are dodgy (not the GPS).

I've been looking at them today.

    Explain how it works please.

How detailed is the info on the screen.

Ignore that you are using real paper maps aren't you.

With the simpler GPS setups does it just go way point to waypoint that I input via something like Multimaps or is it something else.

This has got me really confused.

Merlin wheels are very good. I've got a front one for sale if you're interested Hope XC disc hub, XC717 rim (non disc but obv will work with a disc still).

Everybody knows Merlin are good. That's the point, how many people have had or read about bad experiences with Merlin? Compare that to Superstar.

    Xylene
    Free Member

They haven't got mine yet, and most likely won't, even though I want red bits.

Wanted their cheap wheel build, thought it would do the job, was a bit concerned about quality, googled to see what the story was with this company I didn't know, came across lots of the crap on here about the customer service etc and just decided it wasn't worth it.

Most reviews about companies are crap, people complain when things go wrong, not right, generally it's easy enough to weed through the guff, but Superstars 'story' made me think twice about it for them.

They have some bits I would like, but do I risk it, or go with somebody else who sells nearly what I want, and doesn't have a bad things said about them, Merlin anybody?

I also have a *cough* copy *cough* of memory map

Just had a play with the demo software from the website and it's worth buying. A little expensive, but definitely a nice bit of software

I wish I had read this last week when I bought new trainers.

I have old Columbia shoes with naff all grips on the sole now, but they always felt really good and sticky on my V8 copies.

Was in Sports Direct and saw some Karrimore shoes, thought that they would do the job, nice and chunky grips, no more sliding on the mud.
WRONG – crap they are, feet fly off the pedals at every opportunuty.

Going to buy myself some flat shoes again

With memory maps, is that installed onto a GPS or is stand alone on a pc that then creates waypoints to use?

Also, the Etrex system has some sort of mapping software on it, do I then upload the waypoints onto it or do I install memory maps directly onto it?

Can I use my cheap and nasty Binatone Carrera X350 to do the job. It's wind mobile something or other, and runs hacked tom tom fine.

So you did or didn't like Squirt Quirrel

    Not sure yet.

I appreciate the concept behind it, yet the 'not buying degreaser' thing isn't that much of a strong point for me, but previous experience of wax lubes is positive.

I used to use a spray on wax lube (blue in colour) on my (motor)bikes in Thailand. It worked well there and lasted. Can't remember the brand just now, but that was in fairly humid and wet conditions. I admitedly only ever went off-road on those bikes by accident, but I did live in a fairly dusty dirty town that was messy in wet season. I didn't have to reapply it every ride.

Not sure why squirt is needed to be reapplied in wet conditions every time, but willing to give it a go.

I would quite happily do the dunk in grease trick for the chain if I had the time and patience.

    Xylene

BTW I use Squirt wax dry lube in dry and wet – I haven't needed degreaser for ages

Why I got more interested in the degreasing process after getting a sample.

I wonder weather MEK might dissolve paint? Be carefull

I was thinking of off the bike for using that on chains etc.

Have to wear gloves and use it outside (or really wear a respirator) so as to not inhale those lovely ketones.

Having seen the price of GUNK I will most likely just use that now, rather than generic brake cleaner, but I do love the smell of it.

    Xylene

A litre of GUNK is 5.49 at Halfords, 3 for 2 as well. I could have three litres of it and it would last a lifetime

I have access to our chemical store at work :

I was thinking of using MEK as it's cheap to buy from hardware stores.

I would use petrol, but I don't have any to hand, which is odd I know, but own no lawn cutting equipment or petrol driven and DERV doesn't do it.

I was at Chopwell yesterday and a lot of the logging work areas have opened up.

I found a cheeky single track with a couple of man made jumps on it, one quite large, for me anyway. I've started to explore a lot more there now and have started to notice little tracks running here and there.

Get an I-Pad…………unless of course the website uses Flash.

Christ, people pay Cannondale 600 quid or so for the pleasure of riding something like that and they only get the choice of black paint.

    I think you're onto a winner.

Not sure about the 29 tyres though, but I like the 700c rims on there A LOT

I lived in the Fort for the first 10 years of my existence. Never had the opportunity to try any of this back then, now I do, I really want to.

I have memories of Lagan dam in the drought, '86 I think, being nearly empty.

    thanks quirrel.

The Geax have quite stiff side walls. I don't know if different tyres will be easier or harder. I had read all these stories of people not managing to get it to set etc without a compressor.

Two goes it took and it beaded up. Went out for a couple of hours ride and everything was fine.

a few year old i'd say, just looked a bit iffy that's all, when i was about 14 i had an emmelle not a couple of grand bike

When I was younger I didn't have a bike. I had to strap two dustbin lids together with a broom handle and use that to ride to school.

Times have changed. Parents are stupid and believe they can buy their kids affections with expensive gifts.

Then again, it is Huddersfield, so it is probably nicked.

Just buy car brake cleaner – lots and lots cheaper than bike specific stuff – also great for degreasing everything else, and if you are bored putting on a rag to knock out your neighbours and then kidnap them.

Do not know about the squealing but DO NOT USE CAR BRAKE CLEANER! It leaves an oily residue and will require new pads. Trust me, I know – I've done it twice or three times… D'oh.

Interesting, the stuff I use doesn't. It does however pull off all the oil on my bike and deposit it on the nice light paving slabs outside the door, which I then have to explain to the missus why there is a big dirty patch out there.

Last time I used it and I couldn't be chewed with the can spraying everywhere I used a tin piercer thing (for condendsed milk) to puncture the can, carefully, before putting it into a brown glass jar for storage. I was then able to use it in a controlled manner with a toothbrush without lots of spray going everywhere

I bought a set last time too – got a nice thank you on headed paper which was completely unnecessary as it was such a good deal.

Mine was stuck to a bit of carboard, but hand written. Thinking about it, I did really appreciate the thank you when I opened it yesterday.

    Glad to have helped.

I was never going to faff about with tubeless, then saw this for 25 and thought it was worth a punt.
