THe design was based on what I had measured up by my brother, but for some reason they have altered the 1000 corner units to 800’s, not sure why they would have done that, but they have.

Thanks for the info on the worktops, will stick with the dark matt I have chosen. Went for the cheapest option of a beech finish, due to carcass having a beech inside as well.

Brother thinks there is some more haggling room there or at least some upgrade potential. They claim it’s the October special sale, which it does actually appear to be, and needs to be ordered by 30th.

Not my money to spend though, but have carte blanche to do as I feel, near enough, as long as I don’t get carried away. Functional and lasting was the description of what was wanted (plus soft close)

I have a love hate relationship with my Swampthings.

Pumped up to 35 they aren’t too bad climbing, but they do make it harder work than my barro mountains, BUT, going down hill, up hill in mud and roots, over rock, stone, grave, slime, they are really confidence inspiring.

I keep thinking about putting them up for sale, but I just love them and then hate them again

Tyre compounds, but that is more likely down to the motoring industry pushing that forward.

The use of ceramics didn’t seem to last long either, where are the carbon ceramic discs?

    What switch do I need?

Can I use a sub-minature switch from maplin with rubber boot?

Sure blackcat had included one but for the life of me I can’t find it.

What resistor should I use for mid power?

Cheers for the offer of the light, email replied to.

This morning I listened to all of farming today, it was nigh on impossible to get up.

Thankfully it’s half term next week so I can relax for a couple of days

If you have time to dig it out I would be interested. If I feel a benefit, I will have a look into the light box and hand over the alarm clock to my brother who is also afflicted with being a miserable twunt in the morning.

What is the cost of H Owden’s kitchen?

My brother will order it for me through his company, so we get trade price, he thinks somewhere around 75% to 85% discount, but that means nowt since I don’t know the base figure to discount

    Any ideas?

I miss the setting up a story and then dragging it out into a massive troll.

My favourite ever, was joining a Thailand dating website and pozing on their as a female. With some clever thinking I found several people from the forums on there and started chatting them up.

Over on the forum, using a freshly setup account, I started talking about this amazing girl I had met on this dating site, luring in the unsuspecting victims into discussing the amazing girl they had met on there as well (me)

Oh how we laughed at the end when I slipped up and went too far giving the game away. How I chuckled at the death threats and threats to my livelhood that they had been tricked into making fools of themselves.

I picked up a pair of Swampthing 2.3 ST for 31 quid new off Ebay.

I was tempted by the Mud-X’s but after reading reviews of the two decided that the Swampthings were better suited for some of the gloop I find myself in here.

Just remembered I have a few packets of 100s in my cabinet after putting my back out.

Back in my wilder days and somewhat poorer a few trammies and some beer was a nice way to spend the eveing……(digs around in cupboard and fridge, checks time 10:15 saturday, checks to do list…)

But there are never any decent forum wars.

Back in Thailand there were two dominant forums that went on baning sprees which resulted in a splinter group setting up their own Thailand forum and organising forum raids.

The hours of fun we had setting up sleeper accounts, sharing usernames, and figuring out ways to cause maximum troll-carnage.

Why doesn’t that happen on biking forums?

I lived there for 4 years and I honestly cannot say what you would do with a 1 and 3.5 year old for a holiday there.

There are various zoos, wildlife parks, water parks etc, but nothing exciting, well probably for a young kid it would be.

Be prepared to be ripped off by the taxi mafia in Phuket and Samui.

There will be some sort of elephant trekking nonsense that you can go on, probably a croc farm as well.

If you were on your own or with a partner I would be telling you to get off the beaten path and look around real rural Thailand to see what life is really like.

When I first went there when I was traveling the world, I used to get local buses to wherever I fancied and just see where they took me, slept in some strange places, and met some really odd people, but it was all good fun.

How small could you make that rear light unit? That would be great if it could be attached to something like an under seat bag clip for easy fitting and removal.

I headed up to Thrunton today, at the turn off for the Coldstream road there was a big sign saying ” Road Works North of Long Framlington, delays expected’

Fair enough I thought, might have to sit at some traffic lights or do a convoy.

WRONG – bloody road was closed just before Thrunton with a detour in place.

If they had said road closed, I would have gone somewhere else straight away, rather than driving a further 10 miles.

Ended up at Chopwell woods, which was ok, but a bit muddy for my tyres.

Riding my Grifter to primary school, closed my eyes and took my hands of the wheels booting it down the school lane, the next thing I knew I was flying down the road head over heels having hit a fairly large kerb.

Ripped trousers, blood everywhere and the school didn’t even offer to clean me up.

Will 1mm give you enough space to preload the headset? I’d have though that you’d want a couple mm at least.

It’s about 3mm, not much more, it appears to be working ok.

Best way to test it out is to point it down hill and see what happens.

It’s above the top most clamp, about 1mm below the top of the stem, so it’s not pulling down on the steerer tube but the top of the stem as it should.

    Good stuff.

It has just enough room to lock it in place.

    Excellent.
