    Well that’s crap isn’t it.

I spent a good five minutes looking around for the police, wondering if that BMW behind me was unmarked or just a knobber.

Not really truthful advertising is it. Police follow this van on a computer screen, would be better.

Gld you have lots of time on your hand. I reckon my ST made me double the climb time at my local rides.

Ended up running one on the front and my summer tyre on the rear until I can afford a new rear tyre.

If you have Singaporean nationality as well, I’m pretty sure that national service is due.

I had several Singaporean friends who lived and worked in Bangkok. All of them had skipped national service, all of them had worked out ways to avoid it using various pay offs.

He’s quiet other than Friday and Sat evening between 12:30 and 2am where he more often than not karaokes.

Spoke with him one Sunday evening when he was screaming James blunt, he appologised and that was it. Turned it down quite a bit and is otherwise really canny.

I was going to get environmental health involved but on going to ask about his boiler and how it was setup, he invited me in and showed me everything there was to know about modifying the house and heating.

Suits in Bangkok are a bit crap, a few good tailors but hard to find.

Had some nice suits made in Hong Kong, South Korea and Singapore. Never tried Vietnam.
Had some nice shoes made in Bangkok though.

Spoke to one of them on Saturday.

    This is what she said.

She dials the numbers randomly, using a phone dialer, it’s not illegal, she isn’t selling anything, she works for a marketing company therefore no sales involved and can bypass the TPS.

Asked her why she thought I would want to speak to somebody who randomly dials numbers and she said that I might be interested in what they had to say.

Doing things she does and when she tells me off, reminding her that she does them too. She hates that.

Wondering if she is ever going to work out that the +1 channels are an hour behind and watching the same thing over twice is a bit strange

Assuming is a standardish u shape It’d take a good half day if they went at it flat out without buggering about too much dependent on the worktop lengths and state of the walls.

Walls aren’t great, but I was planning on putting up a 6″ splash guard to take away some of the difference in the wall and lessen it;s effect.
Worst bit is the back kitchen wall, but that can be smoothed over with polyfilla

Blazin – that is about what I was expecting to pay. One guy on the phone said no more than 150, but he hasn’t got back.

I was expecting around 150-170 or so. I have everything that is needed, just need somebody that is skilled to to do the work.

My case has two plastic ends, quite small and the two reflectors fit in ok, might just use it.

I bought the wrong case, it’s slightly too small for the heatsink, so I either chop it or return it, but feeling lazy….so most likely will chop 2mm off the heat sink and do my best with that.

Don’t worry about it. I bought a gun once, it too had the serial numbers ground off, but it still worked ok and did the job it was meant for.

I’ll pay whatever work want keep my bike but certainly won’t bother doing it again, may as well just buy at 0% on a new model at friendly dealer

And you could do it over 3 years as well, couple of hundred quid down and between 10 and 20 a month, not bad really.

Quirell- you know more than me here or you have Googled well – what about marriage – to a UK citizen- do you still need this? I though that was automatic – well above certain age to discourage arranged marriages. Is it ?

Nope. There is no right to abode if married to a UK citizen. The same hoops have to be jumped through. Know them too well.

It is much harder to work if you cannot speak the language. We should encourage [ I guess to the just short of compel] people to learn the language. It is much harder to contribute/integrate if you dont know the language. It is often a way of controlling your women as well.

You do though. TO apply for an Indefinite Leave to Remain (ILR) you have to either show progression in one level of English e.g pre-entry level to entry level 1. Or if you are at Level 3 or above, you have to pass the life in the UK test.

There are ways around it, with short courses etc, but the ESOL courses have to have citizenship content in them as well as English.

It places benefit claimants in the same category as criminals

Are those who don’twork because they cannot be bothered, criminals? Ater all they are defrauing benefits if they aren’t trying to seek gainful employment.

    I presume so.

One has come back from the dead. The other has caught a disease and become zombie like (pedants, I know the ‘zombies’ in 28 days weren’t technically zombies, but they were zombie like)

Anybody tried mobile phone batteries for something like this.
Four batteries strung together would be small still, even six together would be small.
I presume a charger would charge them up.

I called Orange and O2 as well, to ask if they had lowered the signal in that area or knew any reason that it would have dropped.
They hadn’t and laughed about the drop in signal.

Made me wonder if they had one of these or similar

    ^ I don’t know…..why I got all worried.

Why would I suddenly go from full signal to none and have my wireless interfered with.

They must have been up to something.

My missus when making Kra-Pao really burns the chillis up. She once, bless the barking mad wench, put the nagas and scotch bonnets we had in the freezer in to fry for the Kra-Pao because the rat-shits had been finished.

We had to evacuate the flat and go stand outside.

Brought back fond memories of cooking in our apartment in Korea and opening the door so that the chilli fumes went into the stairwell. We would hear people coughing and spluttering as they came up the stairs.

I did “Ring BT, and report it,as a nuisance caller. “

They said it’s a wardialer, and I should use the preference service. Told them it might be coming from overseas and was told there was nothing we could do.

Yes but wish I went later in life now.

Went from a high 2:1 to a low 3 by the end of it. Really off the rails and ended up fleeing the country to sort myself out.

Good experience, but could have been so much more productive

It was…..but then the missus saw it in a drawer, put it on charge and answered it when it rang.

I understand the not answering bit, but it’s the principal it all.

I presume it’s a random generator, unless BT secretly sold my number.

Saturday’s fella was screaming at me “Listen to me man, it’s not a sales call”
I kept asking how he got my number
He started saying “Your mother gave it to me, when I called her”
At which point I gave him a tirade of abuse…..then he appologised……..then asked if I was ready to listen.

Think I will hide the phone away again.

Use a 9V power supply from work and it was fine, just neeld to go get a replacement switch, boot and box.

Would a block of mobile phone batteries wired in series do the job. They appear to be about 3.7v so three would be around 10v and still compact.

Spent most of my morning screaming at my year nine class to stop being horrible to each other.

Then had a really nice lesson with my small class of knackers, never seen disaffected kids use a dictionary so fast.

Then a semi ok lesson teaching students how to fill out their APP sheet to monitor their progress.

And then a good twenty minutes discussing with one student’s tutor how he was the densest kid I had ever met, he’s like a caractature of a stupid kid, a living dopey from the seven dwarfs.
