    It felt like it.

Bananas – beep – error – wait for assistance
Memory card – beep – error – wait for assitance
Tescos finest fruit juice – beep – put in basket – unexpected item in basket
Camera – beep – error unexpected item in basket – I hadn’t put anything in at that point, did realise though that mrs q was leaning on the scales.

Drove me mad when I first got back from Korea.

I just went to Tesco, one of those huge ones, it was ok. Not too busy, but it did take ten minutes to use the self service checkout.

Everything I scanned threw up an error.

Surf-Mat wasn’t talking about any of this LFB though.

He was talking about using his left foot to activate the brakes enough to cause the lights to come on.

That has nowt to do with driving technique or the IAM, it has all to do with moderated

my brother does well at christmas time. Construction industry and he’s the MD.

Doles out the gifts to the minions though, keeps a bottle for himself and raffles or gifts it below.

Last year was poor apparently though, recession cut the number of bottles significantly.

Nice to see ONE person who actually knows about left foot braking!

SbZ and Quirrel – nice angle there. Just tell everyone how wrong you think I am then offer NOT A SINGLE useful bit of input yourselves.

SbZ – you’ve shown time and time again that you are a pretty crummy driver. I have no idea who this latest stalker geek “Quirrel” is but he is also clearly a driving chump.

    1)Points on your license please?
    2)Amount of extra training please?

Oh and without googling, explain “sustained” gearchanging to me? What you can’t? No there’s a surprise.

    Answers:

    1)Probably many.
    2) Clearly none

    Neeext.

Nice attempt at an anti-troll hook.

    No points ever.
Limited extra training from bike school.

However I don’t spend my days spouting stuff about driving that I found on wikipedia trying to justify LFB which really should have been put as “touching the brake with my left foot to cause the microswitch to activate the brake lights without acutally causing me to brake.”

That isn’t quite the same as left foot braking, is it! I think if were were to give it letters it would be something like

Surf Mats Left Foot Braking Technique That He Misread On Wikipedia And Thought It Would Sound Cool If He Said He Did It To Stop Tailgaters.

    How wrong is Surf-Mat

    On a scale of 1-2, 1 being wrong, 2 being completely wrong I give him a 3.

The more I read of Surf-Mat’s posts the more I think about roosters.

Sunrises and sunsets – how they can make a crap morning or evening so much better.

Pregnancy – even though I teach kids at school about child development. I still find it really messed up that Mrs Q. can sit there on the evening and tell me that the baby is now awake inside her and moving about.
Possibly too much influence from Alien to make me see this as anything other than spooky.

you could try some anti-freeze, but I’m not sure if the pipes will like it. Caustic might also work as well, exothermic reaction would be a bonus, but……if it doesn’t you then have a load of caustic stuck down there that needs to be brought out.

If you can get the plug hole out and have a bucket, running a stream of hot water water via a hose directly at it and catching the back flow could help as well.

Driving at 60 on a motorway is fine.

Driving at 50 is fine as long as you are in the correct lane.

Trucks are limited to 56mph and that isn’t deemed dangerous.

Can you not remove said washing machine and attach a hose and drop the waste down the sink for the time being?

Left foot brakers are hateful even in perfect weather. In ice it’s REALLY stupid.

    Corrected that for you Surf-Mat

Just lift off and control the space around you. It’s up to you to ensure you have safe distances around you for emergency maneuvers. If that means lifting off to for a few minutes then returning to your previous speed to increase the gap, then that is fine.

Either that or just throw stuff out the sunroof at them.

Try the 1.9tdi, it takes longer as it doesn’t have the auxiluary heater I was talking about above. (I also have the 2.0tdi Passat)

I can do the 22 miles to work in my 1.9TDi Golf and it just hits the 90 degrees mark as I go up the last long 1 mile hill.

There is no point in letting it sit idling for any length of time as it never heats up.

Last winter I left it ticking over and forgot about it, went about doing other things and remembered 45 minutes later. Engine had barely moved on the temp guage but MPG was about 5

Where did you last see it?

Either in the side pocket of a bag. In a drawer or in a jacket.

Possibly it was the case in a drawer but can never quite remember.

Have you checked under the cushions on the sofa?

Everywhere we can think of. Including the same bags where we used to carry it several times over.

It is possible it has been lost or nicked, but we can’t see how.

It was a 12megpixel Casio Exilim. It would have lasted her for years….until I (she says it was anyway) lost it.

If I can face it, Tesco has a Samsung S28 that will do the job for now.

The xbox may be cheaper initially, but you do have to pay for online gaming, you have to pay for the wireless dongle, pay for replacement cables if you want to run it through a surround sound system. All that is free with the PS3.

New xbox has wireless built in and again a 10 quid HDMI cable is only a problem if you are 12.

    I had both a pS3 and a 360.

360 got loads of game time, until it was banished to the loft to concentrate on other things. PS3 was bought six months after getting my 360, was played twice and then sat dusty for a year until I sold it.

I was really excited at the time about getting the ps3, but on playing it, I realised that the 360 did what I wanted.

Now I wish I had more self control and could play games without getting too absorbed in them and wasting hours at a time.

Just at the start of the rain starting again.

However, I’ve never worried about anti-malarial drugs before when traveling and living overseas. All depends on how you see things.

I would be more worried about Dengue Fever than Malaria, it’s rise has been huge over the last few years, and it’s a horrible disease to catch, wiped me out for three weeks completely, and another three on top of that to feel nearly 100%

Howden’s will apply their discount from branch to branch as well. I get the discount applied at the Livingston branch where the account is held at the newcastle one. They can’t do any bigger discounts, but can offer that.

BTW – was there yesterday, allegedly a first ever january sale starting on the 4th.

Used my brother’s account to gain access to the hallowed price lists. Very happy with the service, after service and the company in general.

Cheap and easy dessicant is to put epsom salts in the microwave, blast the water from them and use that.

If you are worried about your microwave you can use the oven or hot skillet.

Nope this is scarier – assuming you passed, a lot of very unfortunate kids now have someone who cheated their way through college as a teacher and influence. Nice one…

You don’t even want to know how I got through my main degree then…..

Am I really the only one who has an issue with people cutting and pasting from the internet for university essays? My views on tuition fees are rapidly being reversed…

It was and it wasn’t. I had the book that the quotes came from, just didn’t want to read it.

It was a reflective essay anyway, from a mickey mouse university via a rather poor college

Yes I am a snob. Why would I travel with the plebs unless forced to?

Do you not have some nonsensical trivia to post about public transport and how healthy it is?

    I hate public transport.

I hate people coughing and sneezing on me.

I hate listening to the disrespectful manor in which people speak to each other.

I hate the smell of unwashed, unclean, unhealthy people.

I hate the fact that people stand next to me when the bus is full breathing on me, digging me in the head with their oversized handbags.

I loved public transport in Korea though, nobody would sit next to the horrible scary wa-gu-kin.

    viper was good for me.

I wrote my final PGCE essay using it.

I googled quotes on reflective practice and got a whole word document of quotes and wrote around them. Started at 65% plagerised, by the time I had tinkered, it was 25%, another mess and down to 8.5% and very little work from me thinking wise other than personal input and the highest mark I got in any of my papers.

Just paid 3450 for a repipe and fit of a Worchester Bosch 30si, two new radiators and a gigantic towel rail.
Took about four days, but the lad did it on his own, and was saying how busy he was, but because I had work with him before he was happy to do ours as his last big job before christmas.

We now have 20mm copper pipe fitted and lovely hot heating and to top it all off, he did a smaller 300 quid job he quoted for us last month in with the price. Told us at the end, he had the piping there, so he might as well do it anyway, wasn’t going to make much difference to the job time.
