Thta is what I worry about, shit data from them.

I like the idea of them, but I want good data from them.

    So are BMWs engines.

DIfferent issue, BMWs killed the engine, the JTD engine just had a bar that fell off and cost a fortune to replace.

Go tell the shop, maybe they can work something out with Specialized for you.

DOn;t forget that Alfa, SAAB, Vauxhaul and I am sure another car maker, all use the same 1.9 engine, that is prone to swirl flap failure.

Not the end of the world though. The rod controlling them falls off, they don’t get eaten by th eengine.

On my Saab 9-5 I turned all the flaps open with a screw driver, scrubbed that part of the engined with a long modified toothbrush and some degreaser, then liquid steeled the tops of the flaps so they stuck open.

What tyres are those? And how do they feel riding them?

Very much. I am working on improving my fitness as well as my general health.

I prmmised myself I would go for a ride everynight last week, got out on Saturday morning.

I feel like I am lying to myself, and I know that I will enjoy it, but by the time I leave work, the days are longer, so it is a bit safer, I just want to eat dinner, do some paperwork and go to bed.

Going to try again this week.

8kg to go to hit my current target weight of 100kg

Honda Accord – I am pretty sure the inector seal issue was earlier versions of the 2.2cdti and it was fixed in the mark 8 cars.

Yes they are boring, but you can remap them significantly – 170 and 190bhp remaps.

    Check out the typeaccord forum.

Mine was comfortable, reliable, and economical, bought at auction and sold on after 6 months for a profit including the remap done to it.

These are the lads that did my remap

You could get the 3.0 Legacy as well, deep pockets for the fuel bill though

I’m considering a Basis Peak or the Fit Bit Charge.

I liked the look of the Tomtom fitness band, but it is said to only do 6 hours which is pointless.

Interesting topic – current job means I am on 24/7. Not as dramatic sounding as that, but I live at the top of the staff village, I’m on call for the school in an emergency out of normal office hours, days are usually 7am-7pm or later.

I switch off during holidays and half terms, if possible, although not unknown to have to be on the ball during them as well depending on what is going on.

    Still, enjoy the job though.

Totally out of context, but in a drunken afternoon, I bought a yamaha trials bike, with the intention of using it to ride around town.

I had got rid of it by the net weekend.

Great idea for the few hours of fun we had riding around my mates paitball course, a few runs to the nearest beer post, and then the realisation I had to ride it home…

Getting used to the road riding position, drops are a lot more comfortable with some recent tweaks.

Just the reach feels a bit off, on the hoods, legs feel great since I move the seat forward a little bit, had it too far back before and was getting knee pain, which has now stopped.

I blame my freakish long legs.

Local shop is decent, and I did spot one of those professional bike fitters the other day out here, so may drop him a line as well.

Front hub hidden, just feels a bit too long, I had thought known about the bars hiding the hub thing.

My arms are locked out when on the hoods.

Fitness may, is, playing a part in the gearing. The climbing around here is just constant, run keeper tells me I did 1400m of climbing this morning, none particularly steep, just constant, although one hill was get up out of the seat, an extra gear change would have saved that.

I was thinking about this today when out for a ride around a new route.

Here, I’m the bottom of the wheeled ladder, about the only thing lower than me would be a buffalo pulling a cart.

Here there is usually a side lane that is meant to be use by motorbikes and bicycles, and just about everybody else if they decide to use it.

Sometimes that siding is badly damaged, non-existant, or blocked, so riding on the left lane is needed.

At least three times today, if I had been in the primary position I would have been mashed by an madly overtaking pickup truck coming the opposite way.

Even when in the left hand side bike lane, I still have to move over a bit just to be safe.

Maybe primary position applies to the UK and more developed countries, it would just mean smearing myself down the road here while thinking – I was in the primary position.

Possibly velcro is being used to hold it in place.

    This goat uses velcro

I can’t decide if the goat is strapped on or holding on.

Either way, it is a new way to travel.

I’m wondering if he is a gardener and takes the goat to people to mow their grass.

    First proper summer job –

Sorting odd shoes at McKenzie clothing in their warehouse in Pudding Char in Newcastle.

They had this huge upper level of the warehouse that had odd returned shoes in it, I spent a few weeks sorting them into sizes so they could be sold at their shops, which were shutting down, bakrupt and baliffs.

I was told near the end of the matching just to get them as close as possible – so 10s and 11s, 9 and 8s odd pairs, and then eventually just put them together.

I then helped shut down shops around the country, driving around, uninsured, in one of the managers cars to Leeds, Manchester, Glasgow and Birmingham.

Getting chased by the baliffs at one store, manchester I think.

The van with all the stuff vanishing on route to their central warehouse to reappear lighter, as they hid stuff from the ballifs.

I was told the owners brother owned foot locker and wouldn’t bail him out.

CX when I moved to my new job.

Have a steel bike still in the UK, sold my FS before leaving the UK a few years back, regret it still.

CX does an amazing job for me here, can ride a decent distance up the hills, deals with the rough back roads, and can do some off road.

Biggest issue I have is I still throw it around like a mountain bike and scare myself every so often bunny hopping a bump and landing it badly.

I want a fat bike, just for the fun of it, but my CX is doing me great.

I do really want to get carbon wheels, but that is just because I can’t help but upgrade.

Why not get a photo of your dog riding it. That would attract attention and encourage people to buy it.

Buy my bike, it’s so easy to ride, even a dog can ride it.

I would suggest an Irish wolfhound or one of those deerhounds, a chicwawawawawawa would look silly.

Option 2 would be to get a local sexy chav to sit on it, short shorts, Elesse trainers and some gold bling would do.

Buy my bike, get a chav with it.

Nobody is going to steal a bike from a fellow chav, so it will always be safe.

When the company secretary/monkey cocked up my flight times, and believed the travel agent that we could get from terminal 5 to terminal 4 in 45 minutes with bags, changing airlines…..

I had to hire a car, and get to Heathrow T4 from Newcastle

Left at 12:30 was there by 5pm, dead easy. and I got to take all my oversized bags with me rather than being bummed by BA for them.

Big difference between modern white cars and the old white on cars such as the Early 90 fiestas and escorts.

I like having a white car, I can see the dirt on it so I know when to get it cleaned
