Yep heels and all, most folk do laugh but never paid more than £50 from ebay. Some things just work that shouldn’t I guess…

No really, sole is as longer lasting and much grippier than both set of shimano’s I have owned, they are as waterproof with some wax and light as a feather….
    Any takers?

getting them to work well is all in the lever bleed, easy when you know how but a faf to start with. you have to expelled all the air from the lever. you need a bleed kit…..

I think you will need to split the damper as its spring loaded from the inside. Doh!
If the lever was a bit gritty its probably leaking damper oil so will need a rebuild.

sometimes your bike and brake are just tuned the same. … no amount of fafing about will cure, you may need to try a different rotor. had the same problem on my old sx trail that turned up only after I swapped the wheel to a bolt through, a smaller rotor cured all.

I normally have to file the paint of the back of the pads, only takes a few second with sandpaper.

Unbelievably there is a 55mm and a 56mm ‘standard’ as well as the 52mm.
57mm sounds like a cock up

The biggest advantage is the instant shifts, you can shift at any time any under any load with no ‘crunch’
You can run a shimano shifter, i’m running a saint.
Drag is no worse than a chain device.
They do need some love to keep running sweetly. A few filthy rides means a regrease may be needed.
The isis drive side bearings are poor (but available for £15 for two at betd)
Not sure I’d blow £500 on one but as it came with the bike I’m happy enough.

    Amos,
You could do it with a football needle valve and hex key drilled with a hole big enough to take the valve needle, i think.

It's well worth it if all you do is change the oil but to be honest once you have done the full seal rebuild you start to think £80 for a rebuild is very good value.

Email me if you need more info on the needle valve. Will put thoughts into pics….

The trouble you will have is the gas refill as it needs a special tool. You can buy them for about £40 in the states.

I've done the DHX damping service as it dose not need the gas charge. Takes a while to get the oil re-filled and some of the o rings arnt a standard size. Loads of stuff on MTBR.

Your rotor/brake dynamics are probably matching the resonate frequency of your frame, if this is the case copper slip etc will not cure. Changing rotor for a different style or size can help as can simple things like tightening your spokes. Good luck

one is a spring assist (left leg) the other controls the ramp up and bottom out… I think.

Could be the facing tool is galling when you use it. Bits of the steel will cold weld to the Ti and pull away from the tool causing wear. It's no good for gears…

Sounds harsh but infection control can be the difference between life and death for some and there is also the risk of exposing young immune systems to a nasty virus. The rules are there for a good reason….

I had a 2007 howler, the swing arm wont allow you to fit a front mech.
Its a fun trail bike with 6 inch forks up front mind.
