Takes quite some effort to hold the wheel in place, I’d say impossible if not built as a wheel. I’ve got one of the tools for sale. It’s an unused Chinese copy, somehow I ordered 3 in error. £15 posted or feel free to borrow if in derbyshire

Running without an air filter! Prob goosed your maf. They don’t like water or dirt at all. Goosed maf means dirty burn and more soot to block dpf. Maybe?
Think the cam shaft sensor only works on start up. After that the crank times the engine. If your engine start an fires, cam sensor is prob ok.

Bought both mine, aged 8 & 11, an opinel in France last year. Many plasters later I realised my 8 year old wasnt quite old enough yet. Prob ok if supervised full time but that’s not the point really…..

I’ll buy you a pint if you clean it :-). A few moves on the top ridge might defeat you but the rest is awesome.

In less than 2 years the 14 year old can join the forces and will be trained to kill. Put 2 nights home alone into perspective. Depends on the kids but generally to be encouraged in my opinion

Awesome weekend, big thanks to event organisers. It was a tough challenge but course was a real good mix. Weather just added the final spice to it all…. Got to expect no less from Scotland in October.

I rode it with DeeW….. Evening Dave.

It was about 6-8 years ago, maybe more, when we rode it. We initially thought the top gully wouldn’t go on our fist couple of trip up there but then these things play on your mind a bit…. 3rd trip up (frozen ground) I rode till nearly out the gully then called it a day and managed to pull up just short of the end. Next chap through cleaned it with some style, maybe because I was stopped in probably the only stopping place. Next trip up there I got through clean.
I still think that this is the most memorable descent in the lakes. It doesn’t really let off all the way to the bottom. Not sure I could/would do the top again mind as I’m the wrong side of 40 now. Happy days. Gauntlet thrown….

its all good and all of it rides, top section is a goer with care. You come out the red gulley like a rat out a drain pipe but can scrub the speed. St minion helps no end. Rest of the route is ace. The final stone pitch section is a beating…

Your bike is more yellow in the flesh:)

More likely is that your bbs shell is too short And you can’t take up the bearing float. Try a spacer first.

you need a special shock or a dremel!
The eye in rocker end has a key way to fit the shock.

I’d suggest a good epoxy glue, worked on my old enduro with a badly flared headtube. After that Id look to modify the headset and not the frame…. I have also found some headsets shrink on fitting so dont cope well with reuse. Measure the headtube first.

It aluminium, the more you use it the weaker it gets and they look like old forks. Headset, starnut, spacer etc were probably more the straw that broke the camels back. loads on top and bottom of the tube will be high.
    good effort sir…

Keep pumping, sometimes it can take up to 80psi before they go.

Did they ‘ping’ at least twice when you put air in? Sounds like they are not seated. You don’t need the strips

I’m not sure where the bombproof reputation comes from, I had one for a while…

Drive side bearing is from an rubbish isis BB, they are not well sealed and the small planet gears wear at an alarming rate.

Any shifter will work with them, I used an xt. Drag is not much of an issue but the small chainring makes sus bob more bobby.

It’s a good idea poorly executed. I was happy to go back to a front mech.

It’s a lot more Britsh than you give it credit for. All the lift system is from the UK…

don’t use a milk bottle, I did and the noise when crap hits it sounds like the forks were about to fall off. you need a plastic with better acoustic properties. I ended up buying a mucky nutz….

I have some brand new 170mm fox 36 van R’s for sale. They were taken from a 2011 specialized enduro evo. £475 posted….

I had a par of Domains some time ago, never felt that good on bigger hits. You either ran them with so much compression damping that the fork felt wooden or put up with frequent harsh bottom out.

I think the tolerance on frame bb width they work on is much tighter than most frames, hence the bad reputation…

    XXX

not ideal but normal, its just bedding in. All it needs is a thin spacer between the frame an bb cup. I think crc sell them….

    XXX
    Free Member

if you gpx bb is slightly worn you can’t put a thin spacer between the frame and bb shell to take up the slack 0.25mm is enough. gpx is very sensitive bb shell width.
