eating (well, just eaten): roasted sweet potato and garlic mash, fried seitan steak with shallots and steamed broccoli.
    drinking: water.
listening: nowt, waiting for a jackie chan film to start on telly.

my food was great, but there’s just something not right about eating such nice food alone on a saturday night. i’m having trouble seeing the good at the moment (a month on my own now after the gf left after 10 years)…

on a somewhat related note, was it any of you lot that asked my ex where the TPT was in chorlton the other morning (3 chaps, one on a CX bike, one on an on-one and i dunno about the other)? you picked the right person to ask anyway…

dunno about chicken saag recipes, but yeah there’s plenty of places in rusholme that sell authentic spices. can’t remember its name, but there’s a ‘supermarket’ that has lots of fresh fruit and veg outside it that i always go to for supplies (it’s on the right hand side of the road as you head up wilmslow road away from the city centre, you can’t really miss it as its pretty big)…

i’m using mine with a fenix L2D torch on easton ea50 OS bars and i have to position it right next to the part on the bar where the diameter begins to increase… so yes, kind of!

If you haven’t eaten at his resturant you can’t say he is mad…

    yeah you can.
saying he is mad isn’t necessarily saying that what he’s doing is not brilliant; it’s often said that most geniuses are pretty bonkers.
i don’t need to eat his food to know that he is a crazy man. but i’m sure that the results, whilst not really what i’d eat personally due to my own dietary choices, are amazing.

he is injecting mayonnaise into fried mealworms…

    crazy crazy crazy man.

good on the wife for leaving him too.

    hmmm.
doubt it was as good as they were at newcastle mayfair in september 1986 with cliff, 2 weeks before he died… i’ve seen them a few times since then and none of those have matched the intensity of the first time i saw them (anthrax were the support too; what a night it was).

used to be great service, i never had problems with them up until recently when i ordered an altura attack extreme jacket, only to get an email a few days after it had been “processed” saying that the order was cancelled as they’d sold out. i rang them to see if they had any other sizes and they said “no, we’ve had none of these left at all for over a month”… so why leave it on your site saying you have them available then?

still, prior to this they’ve been great so i’m prepared to probably give them the benefit of the doubt as i’ve got some serious bargains from them in the past…

    righto, cheers.
hmm, tempted by the truvativ stylo now as this would fit the bill nicely for taming my stiffee somewhat (currently 1×8, 38T DH ring with e.13 fitted but i want to ride it up a bit as well now!)
    hmmm…

Add insult to injury – I’ve got a Truvativ Stylo AM 2.2 (2009) with
24/36T going on ebay for 70 squid having been “given” a M665 !!

excuse my muppet-ness, but would this fit a 68mm BB shell, or is that not even an issue with external BBs?

Probably more to do with the fact that battery hen eggs are used in the production of Quorn

i believe they switched to free range a good few years ago now, but i’m not sure on that one… i don’t eat it anyway though, eggs is eggs and i’m banned from eating them by the vegan police.

    Bridge and Tunnel.
great stuff. melodic techy poppy punk rock from new jersey.

my band is playing a gig with them in manchester in april, and they’re going to totally show us up.

plus, i agree with the captain’s first comment. no jim, no FNM. regardless of how charismatic (or not) patton may be…

anyone wanna buy my mr bungle demo tape then? go on… 50 quid and it’s yours.

i liked the sound of the tannoy M1s i demo’d in richer sounds about 12 years ago (with a copy of slayer’s “reign in blood”!), so i bought them.
so yeah, take your stuff to richer sounds and test things out till you find something you’re happy with.

watched “no country…” a couple of weeks ago, and it just confirmed my suspicions that i’m just not into watching violent films any more. does nothing for me.

watched “there will be blood” on saturday night. thought that it was pretty great, but then again i’ve enjoyed all of P T Anderson’s stuff so far. he has a great eye for setting up a scene… very stylish.

    forge, i know!
tbh my GP just reckons that we’ve been controlling my BP too well and i was being over-medicated, so we’re closely monitoring it and since the latest crash he reduced my meds from 2 beta blockers, an ACE inhibitor and a diuretic daily to just one of the beta blockers… and so far, so good. last friday my BP was 120/89. heart rate is still on the low side though (i’m not an athlete!)- 3 weeks ago when i collapsed it was 45; last week 58.
still, rode about 15K offroad (but quite flat) yesterday with no ill-effects, so i’m optimistic…

ha, my peak 5 years ago was 255/170… but that was at the beginning of a fortnight’s spell on the coronary care ward since my body had begun to shut down.
3 weeks ago, when i went in again after collapsing, it was 90/60.
    i’m ridiculous.

hora, it’ll depend on where you end up going because i am seriously still hugely lacking in fitness and stamina… but yeah, i’ll consider it!
and yeah i’m okay. just a bit weird being here on my own now but we’re still friends and that, and it’s not necessarily dead forever… i’m not the kind that can just run off with anyone any time you know, so we’ll see how things all pan out.

i’m sticking with most of the rest of the kit for now (thomson post, easton stem and bars, magura julies, x.7 rear mech, proII on xm321s)… but i need to keep as much of an eye on the expenditure as the weight so i’m thinking SLX double and bash, slx front mech, sram 9 speed cassette and some 2nd hand air pikes…
