i got a 2nd hand NMS disc last year, played it for a bit after the first two major updates had rolled out but it just got boring so i took it off my ps4. heard that it might be worth going at again now though after a couple more updates have made it a lot more engaging. anyone confirm this?

there’s a lot of water on the trails up there today, torrents flowing down almost every path on the gardens side of the hill. slick summer tyres are a very bad idea, i’d say!

i kind of discounted neos on the combined basis of the power along with outdoor fiddlyness, but it would definitely be the cheapest option. not super bothered about massive high def detail on the car, it’s mostly for capturing whether this particular individual tries to snoop around the house itself so that shouldn’t be an issue (and the night vision capability of the XT2 looks good enouggh on video reviews i watched). a few of the reviews reckon XT2’s motion detection is very usable and definable so given a few days of tweaking we can have them just picking up people walking it seems.

also, probs should have said we’re not apple homes at all!

just seen blink xt2 has pretty good motion detection so that might change things a little… does anyone have one of their systems yet? she has no alexa enabled devices so would just be running it with an android app (oh, except a fire hd kids tablet!)

about 2 miles from my house. wasn’t me though!

unlikely. just got too much to do at home, and won’t get in from work until 6.30ish anyway so think i’ll run out of time.

also, very unfit physically and mentally.

well yeah, only for claims. not a full db of in-force home policies.

just checked with our underwriters at work for a definitive answer, and… nope.
unlike car insurance, which being a legal requirement has a central database that is publicly searchable, home insurance is not compulsory and so there is no regulatory requirement for such a thing to exist. it’s basically on you to know.

Privately people do feel some sympathy – although often they’ll feel unable to help because they think it’s so incomprehensible – but outwardly and in business settings the default is still there’s something “wrong” with you.
And “wrong” -> “weird” -> “disturbing/ not someone you want to work with”.

So it’s like the onus is on *you* to pull yourself together and sort it out. Possibly some of this is perception that we imagine in our heads, but there’s still a gap between the public statements of “we encourage people to talk about it” and the actual behaviour and support in the workplace.
And if you find yourself in tears at your desk because… well, you don’t really know why… where tf do you start in trying to explain to colleagues that this is OK, it just comes and goes but mostly you have it under control?

this is definitely my experience at my work- employer made a big show of “supporting” mental health awareness week/month, but actual, genuine empathy, understanding and support for anyone who needed it was more or less non-existent. and as for direct line managers/colleagues- nope. “hand back your man card” was said to me one day after a bit of an episode at my desk when things got too much for me.

i think, for me definitely, there’s an element of being an introvert to it, yes. but it doesn’t explain it all, i mean i don’t go to parties if i can help it anyway but feeling like i’m out of place even when just in a public place with a few people isn’t simple personality type, is it?

Ever been to a party where everyone is having a great time, but you feel a little out of place? You try to get along and wear a smile, it’s a party after all so you want to look happy like everyone else. But secretly you’re just waiting for the right moment to slip away unnoticed confident that no one will miss you when you’re gone.
I guess for some people life is a bit like this.

every single **** day of my life for the past couple of years or so. it’s awful. and i don’t feel able to talk to anyone about it, because i just assume i’m an annoyance. literally the only thing keeping me going is my little boy.

sorry i peeled off early, no way i’d have made it round the full loop, even without going up to the pike. i slogged it up to the pigeon tower via the hall/bottom of ICR/7 arch bridge and it was hard work so straight back down that cobbled chute that runs south from the top of the gardens to the back of rivi school. fun though, but i’m suffering breath-wise today!

see you in a bit! i might have to cut it short, got some weird swollen glands/tickly cough thing going on so i’ll see how i get on but i’m determined to be there!

cwellyn arms campsite has mobile fire pits, you can buy wood from the pub itself about 1/2 mile down the road towards rhyd ddu and both rangers and rhyd ddu paths up snowdon are easy walking distance from the campsite. plus, otters in the glacial lake alongside it worth waking up early to watch them fish…

my 2 1/2 year old naps fairly intermittently from one day to the next, we’re not worried about it. yeah sometimes in the evening it might lead to a slight overtired meltdown but again it’s nothing bad. just go with it, if he’s happy enough and he sleeps through the night then you’re doing fine imo. you may just have to accept that he’s pretty much in charge now!

good to see the police taking it seriously.

they are, but sadly due to lack of resource that just means it’s added to the stats as an assault in the city centre but won’t actually be investigated or any arrest/prosecution or anything. not their fault, i’m not criticising them for the decision.

GMP have filed it as “pending” unless more evidence comes to light. Deliveroo have raised a serious complaint and i’m waiting for them to tell me that **** all will happen.

I had a large (vegan chilli) burrito from Pancho’s in the Manchester Arndale for lunch, very filling and very tasty. I accidentally didn’t eat last night so it was very much needed.

i can barely move for hours after eating a medium one!

beans and mushrooms on toast for brekkie for me.

dinner time, going to try to avoid being twatted by any deliveroo ****.

    i have 3 witnesses.

progress- GMP are pursuing as a crime (assault), and Deliveroo have referred to their Serious Complaints Dept (whatever that is). so we’ll see.
thing is, after a few hours, i don’t want him to lose his job or anything, just to realise and accept that he cannot behave so badly without facing consequences. i mean, he may have just had a shit morning and was at breaking point. we all have done at some time, and we’re all just trying to get by.

to be honest he was considerably bigger than me so i’d rather not have any follow-up encounters if at all possible!

but yeah, bike- it was a b’twin hybrid. we just got my stepson a b’twin mtb for his 7th birthday last week so i’ll go home and set fire to it in retaliation.

sadly no CCTV where it happened, no. it was almost right outside my work but our cameras don’t point out onto the road where the crossing is.

yeah, not badly hurt, just pretty wound up and adrenaline pumping like there’s no tomorrow!

i know deliveroo treats their riders badly, with pretty unreasonable expectations, but yeah, this lad was a prize bellend.

i have an old howies tshirt that says “TIME NOT CASH”

wise words for me. if i could stop working right now and not have to struggle to pay bills, i’d do it in a heartbeat.

i’ll try. should be able to get to the boozer in time, it’s about 100 metres from my house after all.

dunno about the drinking/giving up advice, i gave it up about 30 years ago and not had a drop since because i really wasn’t going anywhere good with the stuff.

but i’m struggling this week myself too, things just getting the better of me despite my best efforts to maintain a positive outlook and not let silly crap get into my head.i got super stressed out at a family meal on sunday evening and it’s left me exhausted/fragile. not a good time for me to have to be around people generally i think, but it’s so hard to express how i’m feeling without people thinking i’m just a miserable awkward prick. i don’t know what to do.

doubtful, kids birthday party/tea means i’m not likely to get there in time. quick blast up rivi at best for me.

yup, i was very close to dying. paramedics said my veins were so hard it was risky trying to get a line in whilst in the back of the ambulance, my lungs were 3/4 full of fluid and kidneys close to packing up. i wasn’t good.

similar tale to muffin man here, mid 30s, although next to no physical activity for a while due to work and home life but i’d never smoked, not touched alcohol for 15 years and not eaten meat/dairy for over 10. my BP was 240/155, the consultant that treated my hypertensive cardiomyopathy (heart failure) said he wasn’t sure how i wasn’t dead. i’m 50 now, getting back into riding bikes was what got my weight back down and my fitness back to a reasonable level (although nothing like front of field race level) but they never found a specific cause of my BP being high and i’ve beem on 10mg ramipril 10mg amlodipine daily ever since the brush with death. i’d rather be alive, on meds and slow on my bike than dead though…

i have 2, a le creuset stove top (tk maxx bargain, 15 quid about 12 years ago) and a brewista temperature control gooseneck for poncy coffee duties (can set it to switch on by timer, bring water up to any temp you want below 100 and keep it at that temperature for up to 2 hours if you so wish, ebay unwanted gift bargain for 25 quid a year or so ago).

have i won the kettle**** award?

does iplayer radio still work? i’ve not used it in ages, if it works with android auto then that’s a bonus (although mostly still just use DAB for r4/6music, or spotify instead)…
