Had the poo bah and later the nguba and both had no issue with sole but then again was young and a lightweight whipper snapper back then haha

Don’t think Nike were ever that serious about making Mtb shoes.. Could say the same for Adidas which also did at great shoe (plush) a while back!

I have a set on my fully rigid Ritchey p29 and can’t fault them so far! taken all the abuse dished out and still running true..

Pretty easy to set up tubeless with racing ralphs…. they do remind me of my old stan crest rims funnily but much better with the eyelets!

rexated – thats a good question with the colour ways for 2015..

When I saw someone was looking to sell one on stw and in that colour way just had to have! Top bloke too.. see the new one in black and yellow :( seems wrong haha.. also got a new rear end which not sure will works as well for ss?

austinburner – what sort of gearing you running? very new to ss! cracking pics!! looking forward to getting mine out on some trails :)

austinburner – Lovely! You have anymore pics? What sort of weight is your being ss too?

The forks are Charge – 511mm axle to crown (equivalent to 29″ rockshox fork at 100mm) 45mm offset

Had the intension to mimic the ride feel of my niner

    Pic whilst building…

I had this trouble and took 2 goes with zip ties which has now worked :) think it’s something a lot of bike companies overlook when designing with internals cables :-/ drove me mad until I sorted it!!

    Cheers all..

Everyone – think its knocking around the 22lbs mark.. was more of a tight budget on this bike so could have been much lighter??

Rocketdog – Totally hear you on the rims.. they are painted rather than stickers.. was original after a hope wheelset but these came up at a good price!

Russell96 – will sort something out today :)

XX1 rear mech? If so the clutch on them make a right old noise if start! Strip and grease solves it!

I’m an owner of a Niner Air 9 RDO..

I originally picked up a virtually newer but 2nd hand one from the USA (2014 model) but after a few weeks of owning noticed some finger print marks under the lacquer! Cut a long story short Niner in the USA / Jungle Products agreed to change it for this years 2015 model… Could not fault their customer service!!!

As for the ride.. I was a very faithful 26″ Specialized Stumpy Sworks fan so jumping ship was a big thing.. IMO carbon for a start is a great material for a race bike and seems way smoother and forgiving over aluminium and generally lighter!.. Also for the first time running 1×11 and with 100mm travel forks tipping the scales at 20lbs.. The newer frame was only a couple of 100grams lighter! I found the frame quite a bit more rigid than my old sworks and if it didn’t have a carbon seat post I think on epic rides / 12/24 hours races could leave you a bit jaded?? After all its a race bike!!

    Old

    New

Is anyone using this frame at the moment? If so, what do you think?

Can’t comment on the ss side of things but running 1×11 and it is simply a pocket rocket! Just a shame the rider isn’t at the moment haha

The new frame is 200quid less than old so knocking at 1800 for new!

Does sound luck of the draw as my Evoc and even my old crc cycle bags have barely a mark on after several flights!

where about are the rips on it? Corners?

Alfa – for every person that has had a good one, roughly a thousand others have had a duffer.

I must be one of the lucky few (touchwood) :)

i still have my local motion dominator gloves

haha I had several pairs of those.. totally forgot until saw your pic!

I had an Al Carter “Sacramento” in lush mettalic blue. Posh Townsend iirc, bought by chance when I bent the handlebars on the Raleigh I had, and the shop in Windermere sold me a complete ex-hire bike for not a lot…I would need to scan a pic, as I can’t find any.

Def a posh Townsend.. had the black panther :)

Just gone 29er and sold both my 26″ bikes no problem..

1 hardtail the other full sus and sold all as parts.. some bits went for almost what I first paid for them.. never try selling a bike as whole as you never get a good return and some folk want something for nothing!! IMO :)

First time I’ve actually gone out of my way to find out how much it weighed.. a little sad ;-/

Was hoping it might be under 20lbs but was just over at 20.5lbs!!
