But nothing can be as bad as BT surely………..

Yes ditched BT about 9 month ago, switchover was seamless, we were warned that the broadband may drop out occasionally which it did, but it has got much better. the router does very occasionally need to be turned off and on again not sure why but it hasn’t happened for a few weeks now.

I had a problem after a few weeks with my home phone in that when i called it someone else answered!!!

The call centre were UK based and very helpful, and it turned out that an open reach bod had plugged us in to someone else’s line so not really vodafones fault

Broadband speed increased even though its still the same openreach line

“I didn’t get you anything because I had to capture a rescue dog that was eating a dead badger on a compost heap”

You are Vic Reeves and I claim my £5

Lol If only it wasn’t true!

Well I was on my way to buy choccies and was called back to help, as a rescue dog we have been looking for for 10 days locally was spotted eating a dead badger on a compost heap! I was late for dinner but hey it makes me a nice guy surely (although I smelt of sardines and probably still do)

You can but if you use a HETAS fitter you dont need to involve building reg inspectors which is worth a fair bit in my book!

As you’re a vegan junkyard no one gets chance to ask you what you’re eating as you will have told them already

    This! I work with a vegan………

surely if the kids went to school making use of public or authority provided free school buses, then the school run mums and their 4×4’s wouldn’t be blocking the bin men trying to do their rounds

I live in posh Surrey, so Tarquin and Isobel are chauffeured to school in their chelsea tractors!

My wheelie bin is emptied at around 7am, and the recycling 2-3pm. The waste then has to be taken to the waste transfer station for unloading, the vehicles back to the depot, refuelled, and the crew washed and changed.

Not on the same day though? ours alternates rubbish/recycling

    Because they do 2 shifts. 6am – 2pm and 2pm – 10pm.

Nah not in rural Surrey, maybe in London town

So they can get to the pub at lunchtime, of course.

My solution is for Ford to let their patent lapse on heated front windows*. I’ve only ever owned one Ford and this is most definitely something I miss. It was awesome at quickly clearing the window on a cold and frosty morning.

*I don’t know if they have a patent or not, but it has always baffled me why no other brands (that I’m aware of) offer this.

Patent ran out a few years back new VWs can come with a quickclear screen

Yes I saw the Kombi but i believe that it is classed as a van rather than car so is restricted on speeds (60mph on dual carriageway, 50mph on a national speed limit) when VAT was added to the cost it worked out as a similar price too from a VW dealer.

I take your point though and wouldn’t rule it out at all, although i would need one with the rear opening windows

Depending on your budget if your not looking at new consider the 2010 ones as if you get the one like ours with pd engine it had no dpf which can cause issues and isn’t common rail either. Slightly more on tax and fuel but bullet proof

    Thanks i didn’t know that

And thanks to all for the advice!

Yeah i have seen the maxi 5 seater ruled it out as not enough space

A tourneo is on the list already not many in my price range about in my area at the moment.

I haven’t driven either yet but will do soon!

Yes I use them a lot to go to Cyprus, never had a real issue its like a bus but its normally bang on time IME

The hand baggage allowance is regularly flaunted but you are at the mercy of how jobsworth the gate attendant is.

I like them as long as you aren’t expecting luxury

I think as a wax jacket owner the only only appropriate thing now is to go into the barn with your shotgun.

Actually its now an unwaxed jacket surely!
