What is all this prepared stuff, beyond the odd puncture bikes tend not to go wrong!

Never had a stick in your mech then?

At risk of getting flamed (again)…

Have a look at the e-fits. Now Google “Jerry McCann” and look at the photos of him that are returned.

Is it just me or do those e-fits bear more than a passing resemblence???

I think you have a point there, at least to start a new conspiracy theory!

Tar us all with the brush, eh?

Not just my experience, an organiser that turned up was of the same opinion as he rides both road and MTB

Of course there are plenty of exceptions in both sports but it does seem to be more common in road riding

    A 10 quid tube

    Lol I wondered that too!

    xcgb

    – do you stop, give out your last tube, risk getting hypothermia yourself but help out a fellow rider in distress?
    – do you crack on knowing that you’re on the limit of what you can cope with, you’ve only got one tube and can’t do much to help?

Or tell the guy at the next checkpoint perhaps, no one did it seems

He had fixed his puncture I think, he was walking as he couldn’t ride anymore

simply assumed he was walking up a hill.

He was walking down hill! which is why I asked if he was OK
Fair point regarding organisers should help and yes once they knew there was a problem the had a medic there pretty quickly, but with hypothermia it doesn’t take long to get serious

although she turned up in a car marked medic, and had a jacket stating she was a nurse, but had to ask us where we were, and get onto her radio to ask for a thermometer to be sent as she didn’t have one! not sure what kind of medical kit she had in the car????? 😕

    POOP TO AVOID COMPOSTING:

Because domestic house pets (like dogs and cats) are carnivorous by nature, their poop should NOT be added to a compost pile. Human poop also (even if someone is a vegetarian!) should never be added to a compost bin or pile. Both dogs and cats have organisms in their stomachs and can also have diseases in their poop that are harmful to the composting process and plant life, and ultimately humans. These diseases can get into the plants you eat, and should not be digested. Human poop can carry pathogens, diseases and organisms that can be extremely harmful.

I wee on my compost really helps break it down. My wise old neighbour used to pee in a bucket to save it for the garden,he used to bring round veg in the same bucket though!

poo is a step too far though cant see it making good compost

The ‘achievement’ of difficult poses is not the aim of yoga though sadly this is often lost sight of

I do yoga and have a teacher that aims to balance strength and flexibility along with some fantastic relaxation techniques.

I was a sceptic but now I’m older i really can see the benefits of yoga, I never thought I would, but hey its all part of the process of life!

    Wow.

I have been off STW for a while now, (not for any reason just had other stuff going on) thought i’d see if anyone had added anything, and have been humbled by the kind help and advice people have been giving on here.

So glad i posted it as its helped me reading it as one thing I struggled with was the feeling of loneliness and the thought that everyone else was OK and just getting on with life and i was the only one feeling bad.

The more I have spoken to people the more I have now realised how common this is, even family members have had problems I didn’t realise until now, so in that way its made me much more aware which has got to be a good thing.

I recommend going onto this website as it has loads of clear, non biased info about medication and other subjects. There is also some helpful stuff to show people that aren’t sufferers, how someone who is feels and how best to help them.

Ticketmaster sent me my tickets along with someone else’s, after trying to get hold of TM and failing i found the guys phone no and posted them off to him so he didn’t miss the gig.

Oh and we were at the theatre last week and a woman with her elderley mother and walking frame turned up at the same time as us at our seats. they were at the wrong side of the theatre and looked stressed!,

solution – swop tickets, theirs were worse but i couldn’t see her go round the other side they’d never have made it in time!

    I love Karma me!
