Nah people just didn’t use it enough I guess thats a problem in the pub trade now as it does cost so much these days, it was often very quiet in there

Probably more of a loss for the village though.

From what I know, I think lack of local support was a big part of the problem

Its not a refurb, Owner has been losing money and decided that’s enough. He says he will reopen with a different business model but it seems unlikely to me. Its not going on the market though, he is just going to sit on it.
You clearly didn’t buy enough cheesy chips!

Beer was cheaper than my local (Compasses Gomshall)

seal his flat so it is airtight and then pump in warm moist air so that the wood expands and his doors jam and don’t close properly.
    easies.

Just imagine how angry he would get trying to slam a door that just won’t comply!

Yes I am a recent convert. It’s not really about flexibility though, a quote below from my instructor explains better than I can…

How often do I hear people say “I would love to try yoga but I am just not flexible enough”? Pretty much every day. The ‘achievement’ of difficult poses is not the aim of yoga though sadly this is often lost sight of. My hope is, in my classes, people will find the path to the journey inside, and strike a balance between strength and flexibility. If you are flexible, in all probability you need to work more towards strength, and if you are stiff, more towards flexibility balanced by strength. With diligent practice, the body becomes more responsive, flexible and strong.

I liked the ambulance but it peed me off when they kept saying how brave they were to take it on.

Nooo they weren’t “taking it on” they paid someone else to do it for them with money borrowed from Dad

    why is that brave!

    Cyclist Prayer

With a prayer on my lips, I ride

Before we ask for our needs, we take stock of what we have. Before anything we may pray for, we give thanks:

    that we can ride
that the day is ours to ride
that our family, friends and neighbors can join us

Whatever we may ask for, let us first be mindful of what we have. What we have can be taken away.

If we should ask, let us ask for what cannot be bought or sold:

    appreciation of nature’s beauty
to hear the music to which all life dances
    deep breaths of fresh air
    strengthening our heart and lungs
    clearing our mind
    health
space to face and resolve our inner conflicts
    bestowing courtesy
a gentle tread upon our path on earth
pleasant memories as we lie down at night

These are the blessings we ask.

It is easier for the cyclist to be humble — on a bike, all are equal. May we ride enough that we are reminded of this.

When we ride, let us spread good cheer. Not all can ride, so may our good cycling karma flow far and wide. Cycling is a subtle force benefiting the planet.

Lastly, let us not forget those who came before or those to come after. What we enjoy today results from the work of those before us. Generations to come rely on the choices we make today.

    May we ride.

    What is Depression

The word ‘depression’ is used to describe everyday feelings of low mood which can affect us all from time to time. Feeling sad or fed up is a normal reaction to experiences that are upsetting, stressful or difficult; those feelings will usually pass.

If you are affected by depression, you are not ‘just’ sad or upset. You have an illness which means that intense feeling of persistent sadness, helplessness and hopelessness are accompanied by physical effects such as sleeplessness, a loss of energy, or physical aches and pains.

Sometimes people may not realise how depressed they are, especially if they have been feeling the same for a long time, if they have been trying to cope with their depression by keeping themselves busy, or if their depressive symptoms are more physical than emotional.

Here is a list of the most common symptoms of depression. As a general rule, if you have experienced four or more of these symptoms, for most of the day nearly every day, for over two weeks, then you should seek help.

Tiredness and loss of energyPersistent sadnessLoss of self-confidence and self-esteemDifficulty concentratingNot being able to enjoy things that are usually pleasurable or interestingUndue feelings of guilt or worthlessnessFeelings of helplessness and hopelessnessSleeping problems – difficulties in getting off to sleep or waking up much earlier than usualAvoiding other people, sometimes even your close friendsFinding it hard to function at work/college/schoolLoss of appetiteLoss of sex drive and/ or sexual problemsPhysical aches and painsThinking about suicide and deathSelf-harm

really try to go riding thats going to help your seratonin levels and being in a group can help too

    Stick with it mate

I was out yesterday, raining cats and dogs.

Went past a guy pushing the other way on the pavement with a flat.

Sorry, I had a tube, but I wasn’t giving it to him because I only had 1, chance of puncture in the rain is higher, and I didn’t want to be him.

I hang my head in it’s selfish shame.

This is OK IMO theres no point in putting yourself into a situation but an “are you OK” doesn’t hurt
