I got one to keep me riding through Chemo.

Its a lot of fun but I still enjoy my other bike, I tend to take the Ebike out every other ride as its just a different experience.

I would like an easily removable battery though

    Thanks Catfood

I am having an ultrasound at the weekend so will see what that comes up with.

If waiting list is long I may see about paying for it myself

Weirdly i was diagnosed with one yesterday got to have a scan to confirm as mine has popped out around a testicle.

I went as I thought testicle was swollen and I have had cancer so was concerned!

Doc actually listened with a stethoscope and could hear my bowel working!

Anyone else had one in the scrotum?

I really don’t want to leave it like this for months…..

One thing to bear in mind is that cycling can increase the PSA result so you aren’t supposed to ride before having the test……..

I had some good results using cheap coca cola left to soak and some nuts and bolts to agitate every so often

I heard of some people attaching the tank to a cement mixer to agitate!

Just remember not all people who ride Ebikes have one just because they want one
I got mine to get me through Chemo and I could not have ridden without it, and am still regaining some fitness

They are fun as well though 🙂

I have just finished 3 months of Chemo which was harder than the op, and am waiting to see my consultant in December to see how things are looking now

What prompted the Chemo? Did they not manage to remove it all with the operation? My GF had a radical hysterectomy 4 years ago, 3 months later she was in remission, no chemo, nothing… 4yrs later she’s still in remission! And her cancer was so far advanced when they found it, they were preparing us both for the worst in terms of arduous chemo and radiotherapy treatments going forward…

I had chemo because out of the 22 lymph nodes they took out one pesky one had cancer in it so it was kind of belt and braces to stop any spread hopefully!

    Well now,

    My recent experience of this!
I went to the docs with symptoms in April this year,(pooing out blood) he couldn’t find a reason but sent me for a colonoscopy just in case (said don’t worry only 3% have anything serious)
glad he did as at the colonoscopy they told me I had a tumor and it was cancerous, not a nice thing to hear!

So that was April 23, I had a CT scan 2 weeks later and they confirmed that it hadn’t spread (that was a long 2 weeks!)

Had robotic surgery at the end of May to cut out a section of my bowel and rejoin, which was incredible. Had the op Friday morning, and was home on Sunday evening no stitches, 5 holes in me all glued up they had me up and walking on the evening of the op.
I have just finished 3 months of Chemo which was harder than the op, and am waiting to see my consultant in December to see how things are looking now
My experience was better than yours it seems but I just wanted to say that I agree if you have symptoms get them checked, I am glad I did!

    I have a T3 camper.
I love it and its taken me on some great trips. its a 1.9 petrol and not the quickest but will happily sit around 60mph
I like the fact you can’t go anywhere super quick makes it more chilled!
Spares are readily available as are body panels if you need to replace,
    Check out Brikworks for spares.

The pickups (known as Dokas) do fetch a bigger price as they are super cool 🙂

Couple of years ago we were riding our local trails in pretty grim winter weather.
there was a roadie event on at the same time, and we were just having a rest near the road.
along came a guy on a road bike with no jacket on who was clearly struggling and was not in a good way, borderline hypothermic. Not one roadie has stopped to check on him all just went on past.
we gave him some food and one of our jackets as we were not so far from home and got him to the next checkpoint, which did not have any first aid or thermal blankets, but they had a van that could pick him up in a bit.

He did post the jacket back with a thank you note, but I do wonder what would have happened if we hadn’t helped.
Just highlights the different roadie/MTB attitudes I guess

Yup another one here that has had them all my life(now 57)
I find they happen in hot weather. Docs years a go said they weren’t often enough to warrant doing anything about

Hmm we have looked at this ourselves, no kids but multiple dogs
I live right in the Peaslake area so have plenty of riding and i know a lot of people here but i do wonder if it’s a grass greener situation for me.

Thing is if anything happens to me or the missus we would be Ok here with a support network, I worry that we could be left a bit lonely and unable to afford to move back

Another thing to check out is healthcare, we have a very good hospital and doctors’ surgery here it gets more important the older you get trust me!

Took our 10kg Cockapoo for a spin round some of the gravel routes in Aberfoyle using an Alpkit Gourdon 20l backpack. That worked really well as it’s fairly slimline so held her steady.

I guess you padded out the bottom to lift the dog up a bit?

Literally just used a K9 one last night for the first time with our Dachschund. Appearead to love it but then she always looks grumpy?

Did buy a Timbuk2 Muttmover but didn’t like it so never used it. Would work better with less lengthy dogs that can sit better or curl up more. Yes it’s for sale.

    K9 one we have
    K9 Sport Sack® Air 2

That K9 one looks like what I had in mind Cheers

I’ve been through bowel cancer surgery myself 12 months ago and also had chemo in the 3 months following. I’ve lost the use of my bum, which is lovely but manageable. DM if you need to talk things through mate.

    Jekkyl
Thanks mate, I have been “rejoined” so am pretty much back to a new normal
I really appreciate the offer, and will if I need to.
One thing I have found is how great and willing to help people are (particularly ones who have had cancer of course) which has brought me to tears on a few occasions!
