They start chirping either when in a faraday cage or when released from one, the internet is not sure.

The Faraday cage for car remote and AirTag problem
    byu/pointthinker inAirTags

So wrap the scooter in tinfoil, listen for chirps.

If none, leave awhile then remove the tin foil and listen for chirps.

Try a faraday cage, Wrap the scooter completely in tinfoil, then move it.

I had a prime rd020 hub on a gravel bike and a novatec d772sb on a mountain bike and the freehubs were interchangeable – in fact I swapped them.

Hang on you’ve all got it wrong.  I read something once the gist of it was:

This is a CULT. They send their people out in the world to show the victims how AWFUL the world is.

The leaders are not actually trying to save your soul or convert you, they dopn’t actually want you to join and start asking questions. The victims are being manipulated.

They knock on your door, you are rude to them. Or you talk about satan. Or you invite them in to see your Ouija board.

The victims come away with an impression that’s what the world is like, full of rude, awful satan worshippers who take glee in doing things (blood transfusions) that the victims have been brainwashed into believing is terrible.

This makes the victims turn inwards even more to the cult and the safe sanctuary it provides.

The victims don’t actually like or enjoy knocking on your door, they hate it.

Remember they are victims – be nice to them and they will see the outside world is actually nice and might break out of the cult.

Another option is a Ford Galaxy, if you’d like it to drive a car rather than a van and have more luxuries.

I removed the rear seats from mine to get a huge boot, and my deviate fits in wheels on with the seats dropped.

Theres a Fiat iteration of the stellantis van too now – the new Doblo.

The Vx combo seems to be the cheapest variant used.

fingers crossed its the sliders that are stuck, and not a stuck piston

Whip the caliper off and grease up the sliders.

If you have a wind back tool then attempt to wind the piston in. If it doesn’t turn easily then its new caliper time.

    Nutrak / veetire speedster

Soft compound, fat enough for the pump track

You aren’t gonna puncture on a pump track so no need to heavy DJ tyres

Cheap and look good with vans style waffle tread

Creosote was made from coal tar and contained loads of environmental nasties and carcinogens.

Creocote will need reapplying every few years but an oil base product will be best.

Used motor oil is the choice product if you are an environmental vandal and long for the good old days where you got cancer and didn’t know where it came from.

This begs the question, NEW motor oil does not contain carcinogens (from the by products of combustion)- could NEW motor oil be a wonder fence treatment?

The internet needs to find this cyclist and what charity he was cycling to raise money for

    That was an abhorrent assault

Guide REs sub £45 on tredz. Looks like rear only but my go to brake for power vs vfm

Don’t the levers flip flop on sram brakes? So order 2 rears and just shorted the hose on the front one

Use code GAVZGDQL98 for £5 off

    https://www.tredz.co.uk/.SRAM-Guide-RE-Disc-Brakes_102709.htm

Pair of 4 pot brakes for £87

EDIT: They are fronts, sop you’ll need to buy a longer hose for the rear and bleed up

You don’t stretch the plates on chains

    Chain stretch is a myth

You wear the inner link holes that rotate around the pins and wear the pins.

This is why the chain gets longer and appears to stretch.

If you can get lubricant to these inner surfaces after cleaning the chain will last longer

Simply oiling the chain oils the outside and doesn’t get in there well. Likewise it’s very difficult to clean in there.

Dropping the chain in hot wax does get in there and the wax stays there when you wipe the outside off. The hot wax will displace crud in there too and fill up any gaps to prevent future crud

The cost with these things is in dealing with the sheer volume of material.

Chopping them down is the easy bit.

I’ve been in your situation OP and I paid for neighbours trees to be chopped down safely, but said I would deal with the aftermath.

If you can chip it on site into a compost pile then in 5 years you’ll have more lovely compost than you ever dreamed of.

I get this problem now and then with Ali. It thinks my shipping address is Afganistan sometimes.

I just use a different browser or the mobile app and it works. Often things are cheaper on the app.

I just sold my Boxster for just over £3k, they are a total bargain.

For less than that my money would go on a z3. not a rotten mx5

The MG is a little niche, but they did a great job given the budget they had.

    1) get planning on the site,

    2) by then your son may be qualified and ready to build….

    3) or sell it as a plot with planning for £££ and your son can live somewhere of his choice not yours

Yeah, the massive number of wildfires in California haven’t help either…

au contraire, the natural cycle of wildfires clears the land and opens the cones providing the idea conditions for germination.

Its putting out wildfires that is the problem.

I gave up on lego a long time ago, so expensive for what it is

What do you fill the lego shaped void in your life with instead?

I buy used lego on ebay, bricklink etc and then resell so its not an expensive hobby.

The last 3 cars I’ve sold the buyer has only given the logbook a cursory glance.

You fill out the change of ownership online anyway nowadays.

You’ll more likely get issues with the potential buyer believing you’ll pay off the finance when they give you money.

You’ll get the most by just paying off the finance for mum and selling it privately.

Otherwise motorway seems the best bet.

I can’t believe the current price of that neutron headset on trisport. £22 and its not even new, it’s used! Some resellers on eBay are selling new ones for about £15. What the hell?

I don’t get the outrage at enterprising people selling ex-Wiggle/CRC stock at inflated (over vastly reduced) prices. Good on them, others are probably just jealous they didn’t have the foresight or means to do it themselves.

Neither do I, what do you think CRC. did in the first place!

They bought a 1000 of them for £30 each and posted them for sale for £150 each.

Thats exactly what these guys are doing.

Its not like you didnt have time to nab yourself from, CRC.

Oh and the outrage of someone buying the CRC owned brand names…. That’s exactly what CRC did years ago, they bought the Nukeproof brand name and badged up a load of far east sourced frames.

This cheapened the brand as I remember Nukeproof in the nineties was a niche maker of carbon centred hubs.

6 years old is not ageing.

Check out the bathtub failure curve:

    https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bathtub_curve

The reason new cars come with a warranty is the infant mortality phase.

You are in the middle. The “wear out” phase is at 10 years/100k miles as that is the design life of a car like this.

The best time to buy a car is at 3 years old and sell at 10 years old. So long as you service it properly statistically little is likely to go wrong.

    Wire wheel the steerer
    Cold chisel the alloy spacers
    should loosen up then

stanchions will clean up and function somewhat with wire wool and wd40

they will rust again in the rain and seize up again.

Maybe just buy a rigid fork and big tyre and bin the nasty heavy suspension

Check out the octopus agile thread.

You can charge overnight at low low prices and discharge or export in the early evening when prices are high. Top up from your panels.

There have been times overnight in the last month where energy price was negative, so they were paying you to charge the battery.

Easier to juggle if you have a battery inverter that integrates with the octopus API. You’ll need to buy another inverter to wire in parallel anyway as you can’t touch the FiT setup.

I suspect the reason they are cheaply built with a veneer of tat is because there is no money in a premium build.

In 2021 there was just 17693 new caravans sold.

Compare it to 32126 Vauxhall Corsa alone sold in 2022, you can see the market is relatively tiny vs development and construction costs. I bet it costs more to assemble a caravan than a Corsa.

There is going to be a ceiling as to what people will pay for a leisure caravan, I suspect that few are going to pay double for a construction that is twice as good but invisible.

What they do is compromise between build and shiny tat, and that is what you get.

He is saying theres no point in taking it out of a pension, paying tax on it and not spending it, to then put in an ISA or something.

May as well leave it in the pension until (if) you need it.

If you are spending it then crack on.
