The triad is a great shock imho, and it was a straight swap onto my bike done for free by the nice specialized people!

Am I right in thinking Raleigh were also responsible for the banana team! A bright yellow race replica monsrtosity! I remember riding one of a friends Raleigh "racers" and couldn't believe how unstable it felt at anything over 5 mph. Also it had a top tube so high that If considering a dismount you had to lean at 30 degrees before dropping off the seAt, or as previous poster said a dose of ivf with the future wife!!

Glad someone mentioned the Mustang. couldn't for the life of me remember the name. I had a mate at the time who spunked a fortune on bits for it. Even buying a specialized ground control tyre for the rear that gave all of 2mm clearance to the chain stay ha ha. As a thought, does that tyre stil exist? Cost him an arm and a leg back then!!!

I loved my grifter, mainly because the sheer weight and momentum of it helped me beat a load of rich local kids with flash bmx's in a jump competition. Admittedly I did land on the front wheel but the comp was measured where the back well landed. Oh the memories :)

Cheers for the replies. Regular up at shining cliff and black rocks, but did again notice some strategically planted big branches again this weekend. Someone Has the hump! Not done the chevin yet, from the mill where do you head out to, obviously not along the a6 to duffield

Unbelievable the amount of time and money people are willing to put into this. Can't believe how many people have more than one bike!

I had a lad working for me who said some of the trails had been shut coz of too many offs? Is that urban mythery and am I right in thinking there's a bit of north shore stuff in there somewhere?!

That is not good! Can't imagine watching my bike cartwheeling down the road behind me!!

Suppose there is definately something to be said for both methods, as a returning rider I probably chose right coz I'd have probably ended up going further over budget as previous poster said! Mine has already received an uprated shock courtesy of the nice people at specialized. Reckon the first thing I'll change tho are the brakes. When i first rode her thought they were amazing. But now pushing ever harder I do wonder if they're quite up to it!

To be fair I love it and trust it on any terrain and have also been riding round with a big grin on my face similar to the one I have when driving my zonda :)

Like I say if there's a personel door you can easily put some locks on inside of garage doors, just by stopping the roller from travelling up the tracks, but it whole heartedly defeats the object of having electric garage doors!!

First few months you'll be too tired for **** all!! But congratulations anyway! Oh and this is probably a few years away yet. I had to fetch my daughter from her friends house fri night! I nipped on my bike. Gave her a backie home! Not done that For anyone since I was a kid!

You can't seriously expect any tradesman to basically knock 25% off his fee if the end product is there and working fine, granted, the bloke has taken major liberties but I honestly don't think you have any legal hope because am I right in thinking it's the dreaded verbal contract. The warranty for the boiler isn't really an issue now because in theory you've had it 5 months and that's when it will be valid from, not the date of the final commision!

Oh and to reiterate the point of " if they want it" on my sites I've now had two steel clad high security containers broke into! One using the groundworkers jcb to pull the door off, and one with a Stihl saw straight thro the side!
    I hate pikey thieves !!!

Is the Door a sectional ( as in probably 4 panels) or a true roller shutter. Like previous post said if they want it they will get in. Main problem with sectionals is they can easily be jacked up by somone who has time. If it's a true roller shutter then it's not so easy, but I'm guessing they are the former if it's a nice house! Is there a seperate personel door into the garge??

Never use a jet wash! They **** car wheel bearings up and they are probably of a slightly more robust nature!! Just use normal garden hose, good bike brush and old fashioned bucket of soap and water! Then allow to dry, dewater spray and place back in the dining room only for the wife to say, I see the **** ornament has returned!! :)

To be fair actually came across some nice folk yesterday, more than happy to let us past etc. Rather than the usual six abreast walkers ( that's walkers with a silent n) who just blatantly ignore the fact that a collision could ensue at any second!! Where abouts in Derbyshire by the way?we rode from and back to wirksworth! And on the final leg home came across an area where the shovel brigade had been! I then preceeded to make a few I'll advised jumps ha ha

Been out today with brother in law on his orange 5 and yes he was off pushing for some of the steeper techy bits. Whilst watching him ride ( ahem) I also noticed he looked very angled back whilst climbing! I had a quick blast on a downhill section mind, and it felt very sure and solid whilst giving it some! Way to much rebound on his shock tho but that's a personal set up I suppose!

Don't even think about it mate! The whole idea of the stove is that it uses it's own body to send the heat into the room rather than up the chimney, hence it gets fookin hot!! Mine has cracked all the plaster on the inside cheeks of the fireplace so beware. Also if you're fitting yourself you need to do it right as you won't have a hetas certificate on completion!
Only reason I mention this is because, if your new fire is deemed to have caused any problems in your house, ie burnt carpet or in the extreme case a chimney fire, your home insuranse Will Not be valid!!
    Happy burning.

All the gear and no idea, comes to mind. He's been happy riding his old bike for ages so dont believe the hype of any make, large or small, it's about testing them, even if it's just off the kerb outside the shop. As Bruce would say …. Don't think…. Feel

Cheers for clearing that one up then! I'll keep my eyes peeled wherever I go then coz I'm sure a slap in the cheek from a sh¥t filled bag as you whistle tightly past a tree ain't gonna be pleasant!!

With all respect tandem jerry, even thatcher didn't remove the bins up at black rocks as I don't think there would have been any! But down on the high peak trail where everyone parks for black rocks,, the labour government have spunked money on the dog sh¥t only bins!
Anyhoo I posted just to see if it was a local thing but obviosly not. I might take a big black bin liner of old bike spares next week with me and hang them from some big fir tree! See if they "bioderust" :)

I'm glad others have seen it. Thought I was losing it, little orange and yellow parcels in the trees. Oh and fair play to all you lot who pick it up right and bin it.

Fair play! You local as well. If so you'll know that you very rarely see many folk up where as was on about. We walk up there too with the kids and even in summer it's really quiet, so what is the problem with some people! Walkers! There's a well placed n missing for some of those types!!

I'm not gonna park there again mainly coz I don't like any cheeky **** touching my motor! I was up at black rocks also at the weekend. I'm from wirksworth and rode there 20 years ago on my falcon, never had any problems back then! Didn't notice the tree mind, which trail was that on?? I did however notice a lot more tyre tracks up by the mast and trig point than I've seen before! I don't wanna upset folk and consider myself a really corteous rider, I even stopped riding to let some old dear by with her two dogs rather than riding, but riders do get a bum deal at times! Just look at all those **** on horses riding two abreast up on the top roads with no licence or insurance when they boot your car!!

To be fair, mountain biking isn't exactly a sport inundated with hot looking women, so taking a dog just isn't good for male morale :)

Getting "connectetions" as you put it, ain't all that easy to be fair. Its usually bar staff that are in the know and not the touts. Every man and his dog can get you tickets to here or there but usually at full price. Usually it's just a case of being nice to folk and buying them the odd drink etc. Suppose the more you chat to people the more ya chances are. Our visit last year encompassed a stag do and it's always a bit of a struggle when it's a group of lads, coz your just seen as a big cash cow!
There was 8 of us and I could only get 2 guest list from the promoter for hed kandi but anything is a bonus to be fair. I'm lucky with mambo tho coz I went to school with the manageress ha ha.
One other chance may be talking to people in clubs at home at the moment coz a lot of the workers will be gearing up back here for another season this summer.
All the best guys and no matter what I'm sure you'll be booking you tickets for next year!!
