InvisiFrame is the way forward if you’ve got an expensive bit of kit and you want a decent shot of a good price when you come to sell it, does come at a price but it’s like a Saville Row suit for yuor bike 🙂

I’ve used a Monoc case once or twice, worked a treat but depends on the bike you’re taking and it’s size. Just got mine sorted to sell it, if you’re interested in buying one that is? 🙂 If you are it’s this one

Obviously it’ll be cheaper, drop me a mail if you’re interested fella – woolymonster@hotmail.com – But regards using them, so much better to know it’s not been launched and damaged by some baggage handler.

If you can get them then Saints for damn sure…But if not, then don’t discount Nukeproof Electron pedals (Nylon-reinforced composite body), or Neutron pedals (metal version).

Max – Yeah, as it happens I was working today and a poor sod on his lovely XX1 equipped Spicy had literally broken the pedal off the drive-side crank arm. The pedal was still attached to the shoe and basically the threaded insert and a chunk around it had detached from the arm. Warranty for sure and the first one I’ve seen or heard of, but concerning nonetheless…Must have been a beast of a man, with pistons to match! 🙂

The 36 forks will fit and work, depending on what tyre you want to run…if it’s a big bugger with high PSI then you might be onto a loser. Also you’ll have no chance of running a DFender mudguard, but if you’re happy with a smaller/cheaper MuckyNutz or similar, then you should be fine mate 🙂 Chris Porter has been running a 36 on his 650b Mondraker for a while now, think he’s even got creative with the CNC and ‘adjusted his lowers so he can run a DFender too 🙂

    Hi-a

Yeah the open bath system requires more 10wt Green in one side and as long as you have the identified your fork in the oil volume chart then replace it with what it says ignoring whatever came out.

As for the air chamber, it is designed to work with 5cc of Float fluid in there to lube the air piston, so remove the top cap, as best as you can – clean out the old oil, put 5cc of Float fluid (not 10wt Green) in there and replace it (torque to 21NM…or use ‘common sense’ 🙂 )

    Hope it helps mate.

Think you’d get a great service from either LOCO or Plush, but if you’re wanting to leave the fork on then your options are limited. If you can get it to Plush then Matt is damn good at what he does and certainly knows what he’s talking about. Aylesbury area for him but have a look on his website and give him a bell: Plush Suspension Tuning[/url]

I’ve got my Solaris at 120mm and love it! Never tried the 100mm fork on it and to be honest won’t bother now. Ended up going for Rev’s shimmed down to 120 (would’ve preferred Fox Float but this was a good deal).

The bike feels damn quick going downhill and very capable of more than I expected it to be…been cutting about BikePark Wales a few times on it while finishing the set up.

Renthal Flatbar, 70mm stem, Stans/Pro2 EVO and Spesh Butcher tyres – Works for me but God damnnnnn the tyres are a bitch to get on those rims!!!!

Mate, it’s a ball-ache that’s for sure….However there are a few techniques. You say the outer is not through the frame, in which case it’s either in a channel especially for the cable, or more than likely just going solo through the frame and a complete pain in the A! If it’s the latter, get a magnet and as you feed the cable in, put the magnet on the frame so it connects with the cable through it (should here the cable moving against the frame as you you guide it down). After that you’ll need the guile of a fox to guide it down to the exit point which I hope is a decent size to get it out either luckily in that it just comes out, or with long nose pliers if you can fit them in.

If the housing is all the way through, then leave the inner in situ and pull out the outer completely (leaving only the inner cable in place). After that you’re not bothered about kinking the inner so feed the new outer back through until in place. Then remove the inner cable and replace it and vwal-the-damn-la! 😀 …Believe me you’ll be swearing whichever option you choose, but hope it helps.

Used to swear by ODI Ruffians but am pretty pleased with my new Hope ones. Rubber compound is more grippy than ODI and the outer edge clamp is covered with the rubber grip too (if you tend to hold toward the outer edge it helps).

Got a Titus Rockstar frame about a year ago, built it up at 28lbs’ish with 100mm front and back and in all honesty I love it 🙂 Very happy with mine.

Also that it’s important that the washer between the two freehub bearings is free to move, and not static and contacting the two bearings? (unless you’ve already checked that 🙂 )

Not with these, but have a Monoc one myself and using a bow is far far better I think. Nothing has damaged mine in the few times I’ve used it. Mine is for sale too if you’re in the market for one? No worries if not, but if interested drop me an email and I’ll send some pics of it: woolymonster@hotmail.com

Think he does smaller packs of frame protection strips as well, could work out cheaper than other places 🙂

‘InvisiFRAME’ is great stuff, I’ve got a few mates who’ve had their frames done and it looks great and works a treat for decreasing damage. Also when you take the stuff off, the frame looks new again 😀

The guy doing it is based in the Shropshire area and charges about £50-60’ish for the whole frame done, even crank arms if you wanted it. The frame is measured using Verniers and then some CAD wizardry done…which in the end produces accurate cuts of HeliTape (matt or gloss finish), which he can then place on the frame. Or he can send it to you to do if you fancied that. I’d definitely look him up and check out the options anyhow.

As far as I know it’s not that straight forward mate. The damper/Motion Control part ‘may’ not be cross compatible. If you’re lucky it might work but worth checking with the SRAM Service Centre. They’ll ask for the models of fork, serial numbers etc and give a definitive yay or nay. All I know for sure is that there are different dampers for the fork models, so you might be lucky, might not. Hope it helps mate.

Our here now, the Pleney is closed but there’s a chair lift to the right of it that’s open. Then a second chair lift taking you to the same place (give or take 20 metres), its a lot slower than the Pleney was but gets you there. Into Les Gets the same way then 🙂 The Super Morzine has a new trail at the very top which is pretty good but braking bumps are appearing already. So all in all, pretty much the same mate 🙂

I’ve always got on with the old 17mm (or any one around that size) ring spanner and changed the position, moving it around slowly and edging it out…eventually it comes out. I’d probably remove the spring before doing this too (just roll it up over the lip of the seal.

    Hope it helps 🙂
