I have the Pace, it’s the best HT I’ve owned having previously had Blue Pigs, Piglets and a Bfe.

The geo is bang on, climbs well, very capable down hill. Back end feels way more compliant than the Bfe it replaced.

Gets ridden on all the tech round Hebden Bridge, Peaks, etc. Pace were a pleasure to deal with, wouldn’t hesitate to recommend.

Had a B&W PV1 for a while, cracking bit of kit.

Was watching Paranormal Activity on my own one night when the bass caused a pan in the kitchen to fall off the draining board and land on a tile floor. I nearly hit the **** ceiling!

‘Chip shop curry’ was the official name for a colour by Ragley a few years back.

Made the paint on Austin Princess’ look acceptable.

100% bring the bike, the riding is awesome. Everything is do-able on the HT if you’re used to riding technical, steep stuff but as the trails will all be new to you I’d say bring a FS if you have that option.

HB is essentially the bottom of a bowl with steep valleys to all sides, winch and plummet, winch and plummet. 1000’ per 5 mile is possible dependant on your route.

Feel free to PM me and Ill share some routes with you. I may be able to show you round but unsure of our Christmas plans yet, if you have the offer a local to show you round take it as most of the good stuff is off piste.

I’m going to see The Specials in Halifax on Sunday.

I’ll be getting right up the front as reading all the posts in this thread every other gig go-er is going to be standing at the back.

Foel is one that always seems to get overlooked but the tracks are great.

One thing I’ve found though is that with a modern enduro bike and half decent fitness at a lot of tracks you can get as many runs in pedalling up as you would on the bus.

Hamsterley is a prime example, I managed c13 runs in 4 1/2 hours the other week. Iirc the most I’ve done there in the uplift is 15 in a full day.

Bizarrely not ruined by the inclusion of Danny Dyer, great 80’s soundtrack.

I’ve got a Ragley Cragg Vale for sale at the moment, 52cm frame, up on FB Marketplace for £225 but I’d let it go for £200.

    PM me if interested.

    What tyres are people running?

I’m a bit of a Maxxis fan boi but my normal combo of Assegai/DHF is likely overkill!

Got one on pre-order for local pootling, due mid April when hopefully the trails will be drying out

I had a guy win an auction for some Dynaudio floor standing speakers.

Said he’d pay on collection the following weekend.

The day before he advised his wife said he wasn’t allowed to buy them as they have a child with a medical condition which meant they couldn’t have any loud noises in the house. Obviously slipped his mind when bidding…..

Dealing with Herbert’s like this is unfortunately a regular occurrence when selling on eBay. No point trying to force them to pay though, as others have said you’ll get nowhere.

They make some lovely looking bikes but I can’t understand / justify the price difference between Raaw’s pricing and Privateer when it’s common knowledge they’re out of the same factory?!

When doing a trail side fix it seemed that without it, it wasn’t possible to get the splines protruding sufficiently and that the drive side crank wasn’t sitting fully on the splines and that as a result the outside pinch bolt wasn’t biting. I was thinking that the plastic bolt would pull it through fully. Sounds like that’s not the case?

I’ve got a Tag McLaren 5x100R 5 channel power amp from circa 2001 that still sounds absolutely awesome. Is that classed as vintage yet or just old?

Weighs more than an Orange 5 and I expect it would survive a nuclear bomb going off.

Currently being fed Tidal from a Cambridge 851N network streamer and bi-amped to a pair of Neat Momentum SX5i’s that were an absolute steal from eBay.

One of the few things that come out of lockdown have been some excellent late night listening sessions accompanied by a good stout!

Based on the criteria of it being something associated with my yoof I’d go for a Volvo 850 T5R Estate.

When I was 20 I was asked if I could look after one for a week whilst one of the gaffers was out of the country.

Laughably, he thought it would be safer with a 20 year old than leaving it at Manchester airport! 😂

Not sure if they still do it but Marks & Sparks chunky corned beef is a bang on.

Simple hash does it for me, equal measure of cubed CB and boiled spuds, mash the spuds & mix in the CB and a fried onion, salt, pepper, mixed herbs. Don’t mix it too much though. Grated cheese on top (Worcestershire Sauce if you fancy) then bang it under the grill. Serve with brown sauce and bread and butter.

In the unlikely event I find myself on death row this what I’ll be having 👍🏼

My mum used to make corned beef fritters and home made chips when I was young. Amazing!

45 year old with asthma, brown puffer once a day, blue puffer when needed.

Mostly working from home, need to visit a site once or twice a week.

I expect theres a boatload of people at greater risk than me so happy to wait in line. My 98 year old Grandad has only just had his, 78 year old Dad is due to have his Friday and I’d be pi55ed off if I though people in my position were ahead of him in the queue.

I’m running (have done for a few years) Maxxis DD’s front and rear.

Normally DHF either end but have switched to an Assegai upfront this winter.

Plenty of grip and can’t remember the last time I’ve had a puncture or even a burp (obviously now I’ve said that, next ride……). They last a reasonable
    Amount of time too.

I ride rocky, rooty stuff round Calderdale, Lakes, Peaks, Saddleworth and some DH tracks too.

There’s a Spotify playlist of the Paula Temple essential mix if that’s of any use:

Loads of other Essential Mix playlists too.

Elliot Heap does coaching days, I did one with a group of pals a few years back and he was good, think we all took something from it.

Might connect more with a 14 year old with him being a young un himself.

Having bought some new headphones and a portable DAC recently I’ve been listening to lots of stuff on Tidal. The sound quality is head and shoulders above Spotify especially the Masters quality tracks.

They’re currently doing 4 months trial for £1.99 if anyone is interested:

    https://tidal.com/offers/blackfriday

    My recommendations:

    Sigur Ros – Hippipolla
Orbital – The Box Part 2
    Hey Laura – Gregory Porter
Weird Fishes – Lianne La Havas
Build a better world – London Elektricity
    The Chain – Fleetwood Mac
Stevie Wonder – Anything off Songs in the key of life
Tame Impala – Let it happen
Beatles – lots of the Giles Martin remixes
Royal Blood – Ten tonne skeleton
    Hu Man – Greentea Peng
Flaming Lips – Do you realise (TPS Mix)

Leave at that before I disappear down a rabbit hole…..

I sold a fair bit of hifi kit via eBay earlier in the year and did surprisingly well out of it.

If you’ve got the boxes and can post I’d say list them individually.

Expect the usual eBay faff of non payers and idiots though. I had a guy bid for and win some floor standing Dynaudio speakers only to advise on the day he was supposed to be picking them up that his wife had said he couldn’t buy them because they had a child with a medical condition which meant they had to avoid loud noises. Obviously slipped his mind when bidding….

If you’ve any decent cables stick them on too, they can go for decent money too.

I’ve got an order in for a 627 and have been dealing with Sophie, she’s been working from home and not in every day so you may find she gets back to you tomorrow.

    Failing that, there’s a Pace
627/529 owners group on Facebook, sure someone on there would be able to help.

I bought a Commencal Supreme from them 5 years ago, was cheaper than buying from Commencal direct. All went through absolutely fine, had it delivered to home as they’re a trek from me.

Got another order in with them at present for a Mega, deposit paid and no issues so far. Just waiting on a call now to find out when it’s landing.

They could but it would be the equivalent of Morgan building a rival for the Gordon Murray T50.
