my mate fitted a pair of u-turn ones on his new bike and second ride out they made a huge snapping noise (sounded like the frame had gone.) and they now stop dead after about 20mm of travel! this and the sh!te reviews the lyriks have been getting I reckon they have a dodge batch out this year like fox did a few years back.

Blimey!!! Well here is my brain dump on the topic!

What I like is the hit and miss nature of the magazine? I like the randomness of the mag in a way, I also like dirt for the same reasons really. Let me explain sort of…….

Ie MBR MBUK and WMB are quite simlar and if you read the december 08 issue it will have the same info as the 09 07 and I'm sure 2010 issues!

ST however has a huge mix of stuff each month, I dont like the bivving stuff at all, and TBH thought I cant be arsed to read this bit. But I really like the Ferrento, single page artices and the adventure stuff there was a bit a while back on a race in the himalays brilliant, man and boy brilliant jen hopkins brilliant I like the mosley interview. The training stuff is really good I think. The £100 weekend was a good read. and there is lots more as well.

I think its a thankless task some of you love the bivvy bits and hate the bits I like, we cant even agree on whats a good tyre FFS!! How will they Chaps write a mag thats seen as great by all cover to cover each time!!

The pics are good I just like the proper riding in the UK feel of the mag, and the fact is a bit off the mainstream and commerical track in the same way dirt is I see it a a bit more specialist to a more cowabunga MBUK. (I also think its Sh*te that WMB and MBUK share articles thats just poor I know Brant worked for future so no offence mate but you pay nearly a fiver and get the same article twice)

I like the writing style too and I couldnt care about spelling or the grammar its readable and is IMO a thing to be enjoyed not marked like an exam paper!

Either way keep it up chaps!! I'm in for the forseable future!! (apart form the cross bike reviews and bivving thats just tosh )

I'm sure CY will sort you out

running it across the other way looks right to me, where is it rubbing on the frame? will the whole thing not unscrew and then you turn it around and it stops the rubbing? :?:

Right it says, (as I have a blessing!!)

I knew I was crap when Mike from that other company came ripping past, the guy was just 2 Kool for school. I'm so cut up about it that i took to the drink, but that led to tears. If i was a real man we could fight and the loser has to move on! Maybe i should stick to the xc or rodie stuff. trouble is i love the dh and up lift too much. and who'd have thought that after providing the service for 8 years all year round I'd still love it! miust be the mix of great beers. **** it i'll do a cheap deal for our uplift and dh packages 495 euros for the week. that other company charge a wopping 695 euross. but as i said he is hevey cool.

right thtas it word for word!!!! seem its eather a piss rip or a dig eather way I'd go with either of them!!

6" is more like 150mm mate!!127mm is about 5"

I agree that angles make a big difference my five rides different to my mojo, to my mates zesty all 140mm bikes. I noticed the differnce going from my 120mm stumpy to my five on the downs, no massive difference in climbing for me anyway (still a slow chat while going up hill!! :D )

you'll get a lot of this but test a few or borrow a mates and see on your trails I dont feel over biked on mine TBH riding on the downs to the lakes and trail centre stuff. For me I wouldnt go bigger 1400 is enough for my nerve so far any way!!

Its a different weave I think plus the paint is a rubberised finish unlike the standard if you you think smartie then you wont go far wrong!! How much is it ie is it still a lot or worth a flyer?

Hi mate might sound daft but how fast are you? My reasoning is, if your in the first 100 or so the trail is usually good you can find grip with faster rolling tyres cross marks etc .you get in the middle and back and its a bog and something like fire xc pros com into their own as a intermedate tyre as the trail is well chewed up by the time you get there and you make up time in the single track bits etc. IMHO of course

PS am a fire xc near the middle type of guy!! :P

HI mate I have had a "crack" in the frame appear they took it back ( had to post it to the states mind!) And sent a new one, crack was in paint see stw review for more info on this happening to theirs and the sl may not have this issue. Been excellent to deal with and bike is amazine I have it quite light and its the right side of sporty so not concintrate or die!. Lovely bike I love the look of it.

The MBTR fourm has a huge Ibis section which is worth a look mate.
