It’s worth trying them mate. I normally get on well with the Spesh and Giro kids but the FF I found really uncomfortable after trying everything I went with a D2 which I find great and comfortable. So it’s worth trying them as they fit differently with out the adjustable cradle trail lids have.

I’ve also got a Giro Switch blade which is adjustable and fits great so it backs up my own hair brained theory.

We use Pet plan and they have been great to deal with. We’ve put a few big claims their way and had no issues. Also if it’s a pet plan approved vet they can pay them directly so you don’t have to fork out and claim back.

Love the two two new additions!!

I really liked TTG, but I also really liked blame the dog! I like the UK based ride articles, I do like picking through reviews in a magazine too.

It would be good if STW could get someone like Amanda Batty or Steve Jones to write a regular  column. Someone a bit outside the norm. I do like the one off one or two page spreads written by contributors too.

Its finding its feet again the magic one, it’s changed a lot since it started, I think with the number of issues dropping (for understandable reasons as explained by Mark) you just notice the issues that don’t do it for you more!!

I think that lapierre is a step towards where we should end up. Lose the Turbo function, you can then have a smaller battery and motor. My ideal would be a system  that assists you on the climbs rather than allows you to fly up them like a 1990’s TdF rider!! I’ve had a very brief go on one and it was a cool experience yo have that huge burst of power available on the turbo setting, and so can really see how the eco normal seating could be great on big days out in the Lakes or anywhere to be honest.

I do think ebikes are here to stay and will only get more popular, I’m firmly in the don’t give a monkeys what you ride camp. I’m more concerned with how you ride it to be honest, riding like an arse will get us all banned from trails regardless if it’s on a single speed or ebike.

It would make me smile if he went to Enduro having left DH due to the environmental affect of all his air travel!

I went with Flows (MK3 I think the new ones anyway) on Hope pro 4’s 110 front 148 rear. From UBUK  under £500. I looked at Carbons but they were all double the price for anything with a good warranty (this was before the latest incarnation of lifetime crash replacements).  But If I go carbon it will be with Ridge or 6th element anyvthey are a lot more than the alu set up I have now.

I’ve got a clear pair from Specsavers, Lenses are tough don’t fog and I can’t tell the difference from my normal everyday glasses. They aren’t the best looking but they were £100, and don’t look out of place to many other pairs, I’ll. be back for more when they die or more likely I lose them.

I do Hate fortnite it’s the bane of my life with Wookster Jr it’s designed to fleece children. I fight regular battles over it he was moments away from a total ban yesterday.

I recommend the limits on the router if you want to go down a tech back up to you laying down the law as it’s very quick. Ours you can change the access between each day as well if you wanted.

I think Mark88 hits the nail on the head there.

Ard Rock  is a stand alone festival rather than part of a series. The old DH series required a commitment over weeks or months to race each event. The festival events don’t encourage this to continue. I think a lot of riders will go to a uk Bike park a couple of times a year that suits them their mates family  or work commitments  plus Ard Rock and that’s them “travelling” to ride. Rather than driving to the four corners of the earth to race on fixed weekends. Which require a more fixed commitment.

If the weather is too bad you’re not too far from whinlatter you’d get a blast in of the north and south loops. No navigation required. I know it’s not a full on lakes route but needs must!

I think access to venues have changed too, people can go do a weekend at BPW, “race” their mates and get up lifted back to the top for another go. It isn’t that much of a commitment and you can go mid week if it’s a better fit for family life etc.

Plus there’s a regional comp most places too, Southern enduro, Welsh etc, it’s easier logistically

FF lids etc make sense from insurance etc, and are a requirement at bigger events like EWS aren’t they? But it’s another bit of kit etc.

Nothing wrong with the XT to be honest it’s just been a long time since I built up a bike from scratch and before I’ve always run a SRAM cassette with Shimano running gear so just thought I’d ask before spending any money!!

Not ever had an issue on tight or flat trails to be honest that wasnt related to Pilot Error!!

To be honest Ive now gone even longer reach wise with my current project Bike based on how well I’ve gotten on with the short stem long reach set up.

They are (were!) quite a long Bike and I found I needed to adjust a little to riding it. I’d over weight the front (as is corners like a mono rail on fly paper if you do! 😂) and the back could start to break a bit earlier than I was used to, but I was going a lot (proportional to my “fast”)  faster than before. I used it as a alert more than anything as if minions are starting to go I’m close to the edge!

    Does that make any sense??

There’s been delays with the Evo links as they’ve moved factories but it’s on track now. The machines are being produced now the XL’s are being made.

I know of one Evo link in the Lakes, and one in wales but that’s about it.

I think a bit of the brand “Holier than thou” mY have been a bit of cultural lost in translation.

Switchbacks use both the Machine and Evo Links in Spain I believe so you may find some info from people who’ve ridden them there?

As for direct sales I used a CC and Pay Pal for cover when I ordered my Evo Link Frame. The machine is lovely but the Evo was cheaper and well I really liked the look of it!

Theres a good Owners group on FB that Leo the designer often drops in on.
