Water companies have to provide a certain amount of pressure through the mains or the get fined by the regulator. It’s known as DG 2 Director General standard 2.

Companies are required by law to provide water at a pressure that will, under normal circumstances, enable it to reach the top floor of a house. In order to assess whether they satisfy this requirement, companies are required to report against a reference level of ten metres head of pressure, at a flow of nine litres per minute. This should be sufficient to enable a 4.5 litre container (about the size of a small bucket) to be filled within 30 seconds. For ease of measurement, companies adopt a surrogate pressure (usually 15 metres head) in the adjacent water main serving the property.

Not sure where you are but I did a lot if ths stuff when I worked in the sailing industry? It’s often a good way to even the playing field (from tea boy/girl to CEO) jobs for every one from trimming to driving, navigating, getting the kite up etc. choose either two larger boat or a number of smaller charters. I worked every thing from 30’s throught to over 70 ft.

You can point to point he solvents god for ragging about ten into cowes Yarmouth for lunch hen back or even overnight. Or even across to the channel islands. Maybe worth a look?

It’s a wheel set issue, thinking of using it as a winter bike and or second race bike (cat 4 so no need for carbon flashiness!) so canti’ or V’s would allow both uses. The disc wheels are nice so a second set would be a added cost about twice the price of a rim braked set.

Thanks all. What’s the mud Clearence like? I am blessed with slop where I normally ride (god bless my hoofed trail using friends) so a bit concerned over the Clearence. Currently use disc’s so not an issue.

There is a report in a sports science journal some where… If I remember right it gives a peak of performance can’t remember how noticeable it really would be, but you can get practically the same result giving it up for three days pre event……basically we all drink a lot if caffeine so it’s performance enhancing effects are negated unless you have a gap.

Can’t remember what the test group was though ie elite or more like myself chubster!! 😉

I enjoy it massively begging able to ride from the door is great, it’s different it’s riding your bike which is good!

Saying that I went Mtb-CX-road and CX once a week so I still get a mud fix. But I’ve found road riding addictive, massively so.

I own an epic fastest thing up along and down I’ve ever ridden………I like te feeling of he brain kicking in and think its a brilliant bike. Ridden it all over the place black mountains trail centres all over Wales south downs trail centres I love it. As an over all bike it’s brill but you chose your line more as its a short travel bike, took me a while to get my head around than coming from a bigger bike………but he joys of Jedi line choice training and it will fly.

I rode an Anthem back to back with an epic when I was looking to buy at oe of thise Spesh trek giant demo days (but it was a size smaller than the epic) at Cannock the thing was a rocket ship so so fast but it didn’t go up or along any where as quick as the epic overall for me But was brilliant fun through the trees etc. If I’m honest either is a great bike but feel very different from each other Anthem may have the edge in the initial hop on and go for it stakes though but as a package I preferred an epic.

Got an Alhambra 09 plate so old shaped one. It’s massive!! It’s the only car I have never had to think about packing four blokes bikes and kit in no Haskell every one has a seat and it will still shift for a bus.

Bags of room on the back seats kids don’t spend the whole time with their feet in the small of my back for the journey!

All the seats come out so you can have a mini van but mine spend its life with the two rear seats out so I have a massive boot again two adult bikes two kids bikes and a trailer no issues.

Mine is basic in side but that’s good for me easy to keep clean. It’s a diesel ave about 38mpg but I do a horrible mix of city and motor way driving for work.

Badside it does rol a bit when empty. You’ll get your head round that and it’s epic to park in a multi story or small car park due to the length, this is countered by the great visibility out of the drivers seat.

I do really like mine all in all and for a family and or bike outdoor bus then you are hard pushed to beat it.

Had a skoda oct nice car but I always took the front wheel out and dropped the seats down in the back. I ride an xl or 20″ frame. Biggest boots tend to be older cars volvos, mondeo

Now have the ols shape Seat Alhambra……. Not on the list I know but it’s a little known fact the the cargo bay on the space shuttle was based on the boot of this car got four bikes all the gear and four people in this front wheels off.

Yep something simlar for me yesterday! luckily it all went to rat I over night and Im in the doo doo for not answering my phone at 4am, even though I’m not actually on call or supposed to be available. Used to be on the phone all the time weekends evenings missed birthdays and christmas shows but my two are only little for such a short time but I won’t fudge figures or hide issues to make me look good so I get passed over by those who do, my own boss sees this happening to me. Need a lottery win!

Still steady job, young kids and all…….
