Unfortunately things like Trans Wales and The Bearded man event all fell by the wayside. From what I can gather it’s a combo of the cost of running it and therefore the cost to entrants, and the UK laws making it illegal to race in bridal ways so you have to join up the timed sections with long transition stages which aren’t timed unless you can organise the event all on private land. Which feeds back into the cost and therefore people thinking Im not dropping a grand to ride two 15 min stages with a 30k Bridle way ride in between a day for five days.

Which is sad really as we have the riding and trails to make something amazing in the UK.

What is interesting though talking to my alBS they are selling less bling 4-5k MTBs now as those people are buying Ebikes. So I wonder will the top end MTB market suffer.

Yep sums it all up nicely!! I’ve met more eejits on non ebikes than ebikes! The biggest tool was riding a Ti hardtail fully Lycra’ed up shouting rider right on a huge bridal way climb at a MTB marathon! Luckily he was stuck down by karma Sorry, cramp but what bikes what doesn’t bother me. As for Sail and Motor this is positively polite in comparison!!

11pm Sunday before bank holiday road trip, finished new bike build, freshly oiled chain before I decided that I did need to take a few links out of chain, undid the quick link only for the chain to slip from my hand swinging down to the floor catapulting the quick link off into the garage….couldn’t find it anywhere missed BH on new bike! Did find the 1/2 quick link a year later when we were moving house inside a folded camping chair!!

Personally knowing it was a blind and shared corner I’d not have gone around it at any speed. I’d rather be safe than sorry.

If it’s a banger and safe to drive I’d just leave it to be honest mate.

Accidental double!

Ive got a 170mm fitted, I found I needed to pump the pressure up to get it to go up and down properly (which is fair enough, just wish I’d remembered to do it before I fitted the saddle!! 😂) but apart from that the post is clamped and isn’t displaying any of the issues you’ve mentioned mate.

If you need a cry have a cry mate! We lost our Dog a couple of months back (he was only 4 no warning, he got ill I rushed him to the vet within 30min he was put to sleep 3 hours later) I was inconsolable for about three days (we got him just before a really tough time and he was a big part in all our lives) then things get a bit better as you go along.
Mi still miss him terribly especially when I get in from work or just generally as he’s not around but you do start to remember and smile at the nice memories.

Kids are amazing they process some things quickly it’s ok for them to know you’re upset, it’s good for them to see how you can still carry on despite that.

I could see how the Athertons could be aloof alright (as per a previous post) I watched a good interview with Rachel Atherton saying how she’s not friends with any of the competitors ie Seageave who lives trains reasonably locally to her as she’s too competitive to be “Friends”

Hamilton I find very unlikeable, I don’t doubt the Skill and fitness required to race but it’s more about the car than the slightest difference in skill it’s hardly one design racing.

No doubting their talents but in The end of the day “No more Hero’s!” You don’t need to like a person to appreciate what they can do.

I think on bigger rides evokes can really push a gap in between abilities, both positively ie you can now keep up with your fitter mates or negatively you’re basically riding in your own as you don’t produce 250watts let alone have them on tap!! But it all comes down to not being a tool about it on a group ride, line if you’re a lot fitter then you don’t need to hammer everyone every time!

As for making things easier realistically there’s not many MTBers who recreationally ride once twice a week say that will be able to know out a day long Lakes ride and feel fresh as a daisy afterwards!! The Ebike fills that gap and that’s cool.

I’m prob the ideal Ebike candidate but Ive just bought a “analogue” (I love that phrase! 😂) bike as I want to use it to get fitter and don’t Mind that my rides will get proportionally longer as I do.

I’m surprised at how many Enikes are about mind you they almost rival Santa Cruz at Whinlatter now….😈

As a lot have said really the Enduro is a step up from the Five so I think you’re going the wrong way mate!

I’ve had breakfast with Sir Robin Knox Johnson awesome awesome man, Dame Ellen MacArthur leave met a few times as well very cool, but it was like a switch was flicked once you started to talk about racing so focused almost like a different person. I live in he same village as Sir Chris Bonnington seems like a nice chap, didn’t realise who he was the first time I bumped into him ( literally 🤦🏻‍♂️) in the local shop, again very friendly.

The difference in her quali run and final run means nothing! Look at Rachel Atherton she is so much faster in her final runs she just doesn’t go out of her cruise speed in quali then lights the jets for the final round!

Depends on the amount being taken, but it was 6 weeks of stepping down for me and so had no side effects taking it it just didn’t work. This involves getting different sized tablets as you can’t measure the doses by chopping the tabs up!

As above! We got a seagate one from Amazon 2TB size I think. Just plugs into the XBox and doesiys thing once you tell the XBox it’s there.

I think Sram are a bit better at doing an Apple than Shimano and artificially  holding their prices high. Shimano just lets all the OEM stuff flood the market so it’s comparativly cheap.
