QE when wet is a pain, and the easy trail climb is tough, ESP the section off the gravel track up the clack single track? That tough going in this weather, chill enjoy the ride and you’ll nail it in no time mate

I know five guys who’ve done it, two talk about pain, even years afterwards, three who have had it a year or so ago are ok….. Therefore I’m not sure…………..Although the suggestion of chronic pains is enough for me to get it now so I’m not so sure 😯

We have had a Zoot and a spesh like a bike, both great both still in use. From what I’ve been told the Isla bikes are lighter but both of my chaps loved their versions. It’s a great present!

Hi all sorry work in the way of hobby shocking!! No these are defo road ones not from the big W. as I said they been hammered for two years or so twice three time a week all winter so maybe I’ve killed them. They seem to just lose all power and or then stick on.

I do think these are shot as they were awesome but now are unpredictable which is an issue on the road ride back home using the patented Like a bike technique of foot dragging ( thanks to Wookie Jr for the lessons in the park) on the way to a busy junction isnt good 😯 .

I’ve never had this with hydros even in the same gloop, I’m tired of the mid ride fettle. But have a disc only frame.

TBH that bike would be more than capable to win a tour!

Moots custom is well up there with if not better than a lot of mass produced carbon frames a bike doesn’t need to be carbon to be competitive in racing!! Record EPS is also top notch, not even some of the sponcered world tour teams ride sup record mechcanical let alone eps.

Another review Here that’s worth a read. I ride a steel CX bike, and love it its made stuff that’s pedestrian on a MTB seem like a laugh and they are rapid in the right (not necessarily my!!) hands. So its worth a go to liven things up. From reading here it seems to be a half way house this bike I think if its really muddy you could struggle with full mud guards but I like running 35 c tyres and don’t run mud guards due to gloop so you might be grand.

Not sure on the wheel spec on this bike being tubeless but it’s worth a shout, I’m still using tubes so can’t comment but its an added cost if these wheels are not. 105 is good stuff for a cX /commuter it will go all day and it cheap (ish) to replace so no worries there at all. For a winter road/ commuter the cX is a good choice for me anyway plus off road it’s a laugh.

Have you thought about a CX bike? I love riding on the road but it’s tough going in the winter, lethal if it’s icy, and cars can be a nightmare (is still awesome though)

CX is a middle ground faster on the road than Mtb, and makes the better drained tamer trails seem more fun than a MTB, so you can stitch both together on a ride?

Oh and youll need a roadie for the summer too…….
