Beagle, I recently got a new bike with the mahoosive bars tiny stem, makes a huge difference to my 760mm bars and 90mm stem of old!!

6’3 XL smuggler it’s longer than a long thing! My saddle is higher than my bars though. Shorter travel than your spec but it’s the same reach as a patrol so I’d look at both.

My LBS has ordered things from web dealers, it was cheaper than they could buy at cost….delivered over night, why wouldn’t they?

The industry is really getting to the stage of stitching any smaller single owner/ store shops in favour of the big chains or web stores. A good LBS is worth it’s weight in gold, and personally having seen people come in try on shoes or ask questions for 20 min then see them google the same thing and buy them on line following the “free” advice* only to turn to have cleats fitted, or bike adjusted which they’ve bought on line I’m surprised people don’t get told to take a jump. I know the OP hasn’t done this, bit of a personal rant.

*Im talking bike fit, shoe cleat position, frame advice on geometry ( this place does custom frames) One guy who took an hour looking at custom moulded insoles shoes high end road shoe, bought them on line and expected the shop to do the fit for free.

As mentioned the geo is key, I’ve got a smuggler 130/115 and it’s an incredibly flattering bike to ride in the rough, I’m totally sold on the new generation of 29er’s.

My mate loves them, saved hard and managed to get one of the MK1 Bronson’s. I. Find them really short, so can’t get on with them when I’ve ridden them.

All top end or boutique bikes are crazy prices now not just SC.

I was a bit disappointed by it, I think they took it a bit easy on Armstrong. They were too delicate with just how vicious he was with those who spoke against him.

Interesting chap, but I don’t think he will ever be open fully about all he did.

Depends on your tracker system. In my experience they still track and report on all the usage. I had one on my Co Car that even when the privacy switch was in it would highlight speeding, ( over 70mph’ harsh breaking, etc).

The view from the company was as it was being notified it had a duty of care to speak to the driver using its vehicles. The thinking was I’m involved in a crash, court sees my data indicating I speed a lot, they become liable for not acting.

We didn’t limit the speed on the vans as it would hit the resale value apparently!

Our oldest had terrible reflux, swaddling made him comfy enough to sleep, we also shushed and that worked too.

We followed this US Doctor Harvey Karp, even used a rocking cradle and it worked wonders. Look it’s your baby, you guys need to see what works best from all of the advice, we had a bad experience with our health visitor, it was her way and that was it when it just didn’t work with our baby. 👿

Here’s the link, if you fancied a look, but I’d say swaddle away!

I don’t think they should be compulsory, I personally choose to always wear one, even when pottering up and down the street checking gets etc. My kids have no choice in wearing one, And I think it’s daft not to wear one.

But I genuinely don’t believe that wearing one will make you invincible, it’s occurred to me at 45mph going down hill on my road bike that a bit of polystyrene won’t help hugely if I come off!

I accept that in certain situations they may not help at all, and may even make things worse, but overall I think they are beneficial, and that people should chose to wear them.

Paddy goes for an interview with a black smith

Blacksmith, “So Paddy have you ever shoed a horse?”

Paddy, No…..But I did tell a Donkey to F£&K off once?

Still brings a smile to my face…..and being a “Paddy” I’m not a fan of these jokes as a rule!!

The pink bike photos do a better job of showing the rock features than the video I think.

I can see him getting in the top ten, he’s got a background in MTB and I’d argue he’s going to be as fit as any of the top riders. What may hold him back is the thought of injury ruining his next road season.
