Chainline, any idea what the clearance is like on the rear with a 29er wheel in there? If it’s the same rear end it looks like it may be a bit tight?

Big on line dealers will be the death of even good LBS, so many times I’ve seen people come in pick the brains of staff, ( even try the shoes on then buy on line and have the cheek to then as the LBS the custom mould them as they are a shimano dealer for free)

Madison don’t help, they can’t won’t match the on line dealers, so it can be cheaper quicker to order a part from a big online store and get it delivered for the LBS.

I think you need to take into account that the advice, help, last min tech help isn’t actually free for the LBS to provide. It’s really tough when the prices are so different I agree, but it’s a huge detriment to the local shop scene.

Good service is an issue for any shop if it’s crappy service I won’t shop there, regaurdless of what the shop sells.

T5’s and 6’s are not really that cool anymore due to the type of people that now own them.

The new wave of T5/6 owners don’t even bother ratting out their suspension…and they don’t wave, owning a VW used to mean some thing.

Sorry can’t help…so in the style of STW recommend what you have…..Have you looked at Frog bikes? We looked at Wiggins bikes but the Frog bike seemed nicer and Wookster JR loved the Frog? ( Team Sky colours may have swung it him being 8 and all!!) it’s a lovely little bike and is really light which make a huge difference to him.

Besides being patently untrue (for me at least), it’s none of anybody’s business what anyone rides. If someone can afford a nice bike – good for them. Their level of riding is utterly and completely irrelevant.

Just bought a house with a few 3’s damp etc but all sortable, have a chat with the surveyor is the best bet if you’ve got a friend that’s a builder all the better get them to have a look.

Hard point would be good, I found what I lacked most was a place to put smaller stuff with out it sliding around! So a shopping bag slides around! Solved by a box in the boot! Otherwise I’d add heated seats for post winter rides!!! 😆

Ah, I don’t care what brand or how much your bike was ( nor do a lot of people I know/ ride with) or how capable you are ( you’ll be faster braver than I am more than likely) it’s all about larking about on a bike and enjoying yourself on a bike! I though the OP was just expressing a blimey that’s a fair few quid thought, I had the same when I saw the 10k intense or a super record eps groupset costing 4K+!!

The 10K Intense is crazy alright as are 2.5k on Enve’s wheels! But hey ho, prices are what people will pay I guess. Carbon frames are going through the roof (for branded frames) SC, Evil, Yeti, etc, groupsets are also going up and up, even XT at RRP is £800.

I’m not sure that the R&D costs equates solely to the high costs, I think the marketing smoke is probably at least the same! I’m not sure I could tell the difference between SLX and XT or XT and XTR, but the shininess will appeal all the same, until the bank balance tugs me back to reality!

Yeah I do here, Singletrack ( Obs) and few of the other Bike mags depending on what’s in them, I like STW for a proper feet up telly off read, the Other mags are good for a flick through while on the loo, the less intense articles are good for a quick five min read, update on a bit of kit. Ike etc! I find Spend too long looking at a screen to want to relax by looking at one.

LoL I thought this when I first saw the ad but didn’t say anything for risk of a flaming!! Having seen a documentary about him he’s not the most charismatic fella, but he’s still young. But blimey can he ride a bike!!
