Ive enjoyed it so far, loved Band of Brothers and re watched it twice at least. Pacific I’ve enjoyed it had big shows to fill but was also a very different conflict, I’ve read about how veterans for Europe and the Pacific even acknowledged how different the wars was for them and I think the Pacific captures this in the viewing.

Im uncertain about this so far but would watch another few so I suppose it’s a success then!!

It’s a story isn’t it a narrative of Rob finding himself post Red Bull?

The podcast shines an amazing light on him and I think the video as eccentric as it is is him telling his story, masking processing his diagnosis loss etc.

He’s an interesting and no doubt a tricky character  (he admits as much in the pod) but I really like him and wish him all the best.

In my experience it worked wonders, my chap really struggled with anxiety, crowds buying things in shops anything like that was off the cards total panic he’d go sit in the car or just refuse to go out at all made school very tough for him terrible self esteem. Full disclosure I found it really tough to deal with and made some mistakes in how I did things and trying to help. We love him and think he’s brill so I couldn’t see where this all came from, and needed to “fix” things for him ( I know now… I know!!) .

We found a psychologist who worked with him and us And it’s transformed him, he’s a happy healthy chap, he’s got insight and tools to deal with his anx, as do we and I’ve learned a huge amount from the process and changed how I dealt with things. Transformative is how I’d describe it and I’m not exaggerating so I’d say try it.

The key was finding someone who clicked with him, and we were lucky in this regard.

There may be access to help via the GP the CAMHs team or Barnardos have some support available in some areas so could be worth a try too?

Best of luck to you all.

We have two dogs, they’re gorgeous happy friendly things, no danger to anyone. HOWEVER!!! They’re my dogs not yours, not anyone out on a ride, run, walk so I keep them with me on a leash by if I see people coming on the trail running biking etc. drives me mad when dog owners do this it’s just not bloody on. I’m not holier than thou, mine have said “hi” to people, I wasn’t watching, picking up poo, they came from an adjoining trail, my fault my dog’s. I couldn’t get them back to me and apologise quickly enough to the (admittedly un bothered) people but it’s still beside the point, my dogs should be with me not you.

Gutted that your wife’s lovely walk was ruined mate. 😢 these people sound like utter gobshites

“ gets 1.5 million users a month visiting it. That’s up 10% on the same period last year.”

Wow that’s awesome….gets tear in his eye thinking about yellow and brownish forum, when Charle was just this city chap who made millions then opened up a bike shop….fell in with the wrong crowd (single speeders I heard…) then moved North….were the trousers are expensive hand made and the ground coffee is plentiful….

braking with only one finger, looking well ahead to anticipate the trail, dropping my heels, bending my elbows etc, etc. 🙂

😂😂 I was hoping for this…. blimey, short of 203 f/r Hopes or trickstuff (which are crazy expensive!!) where do you go!?!

Yeah that’s exactly my concern @doomanic.

My thing with ebikes is they are going through change after change at the moment each development cycle superseding the last. That means the motor/ battery heart of the system will be out of date in a year then in all probability not supported in two or three leaving me out of luck with a 50lbs door stop! The manufacturers are cutting warranty times down so what was four years on motor & battery now two….that’s a concern.

I’d love an ebike, knocking out Borrowdale bash in a morning or doing two quick Laps of the southern red at Whinlatter after work (with out being destroyed!!) is a brilliant thought. But part of me wants to be fit enough to do that on my “own” and a 5-6k bike isn’t really an option for me, especially if it’s a two year life span!

That’s Interesting!! I’ve got a 2.5 on my MTB, which isn’t ever going to be lightweight XC bike!) and a Ive though about a 2.3 for the front. It’s just a a fair few Bob for me to spend on a tyre on on a hunch! 🤦🏻‍♂️

    Yeah that’s a 35mm stem….not cm…😂😂😂

    Wookster

It’s interesting alright, by his rough figures I should be on a 470mm bike. Now that’s a lot, lot smaller than I’m on (yes I might have gone too long..). So I’m 189 cm 6’2 in old money, I don’t Chuck the bike about like these guys do they’re much more poppy jumpy hoppy…I’m more trundle, survive, jump if really necessary!! So the smaller bikes might be more suitable for them. I think if I’m not sure comparing me to Richie Rude would be overly helpful…in the same way comparing my bike fit to Tom Boonen’s would be?

Ok….did the marker on the wall thing…got 89.5cm….I’m an ape, handy for boxing a nightmare for archery kit…my bikes a xl and is 90cm from bb to bar (35cm stem) but it’s also 60mm longer than the calculations say height x2.5….🤦🏻‍♂️😂😂😂

Well an SMax. is going to be smaller and lower inside, what about a Galaxy as an in between both are potentially cheaper given that van prices especially VW’s have gone through the roof, with even glitter rolled turds teaching crazy prices.

Saying that I’ve got a van as a daily driver….it’s awesome so I’m no help…

Oh no!!!! It will be worth the wait but still doesn’t make it less crap though!!

My new bike was delayed last year due to the Rona but I was so lucky to have gotten in just before it all went to pot, there was a waiting list anyway so I understood I’d be waiting though, but that extra tones always a killer even if it can’t be helped. Can’t wait to see the bikes when built mate!! 🤞😎

Hi Joe, great shout just logged in To see it this was here and if not post it! Not sure if admin would fancy putting it as a sticky?

Yep no interest in debating the rights and wrongs of if the campers should have been here or not. I’ve been very lucky that my only experience of the MRT’s have been at their fund raising events and stealing cuddles from the search dogs at their events!!! I hope I’ll never need them (like the RNLI! I worked on boats and saw some stupid stuff on the water,) but I’m also keenly aware at how the simplest slip walking the dog or on the bike by the best prepared can turn out nasty I was relieved to see the Atom packs chap was alright after a tumble that could have been awful of an unremarkable bit of trail. There by the grace of god go we and all. It’s just the nature of the amazing place that’s the Fells and mountains.

It’s a terrible accident that’s hurt a chap who’s put others first in countless times never asking the question of if he should go, I feel so grateful that they are there but also it’s really hit home to me that when you do go out it’s as safe and responsible as possible as it’s not just me or my family but these people too you know.

I really agree with Richmtb above, I think it’s very well put.

@nobeer True, I just thought it’s more our job to put him down than the law you know?

Like I said I can’t make my mind up really. Can’t help but feel for Moore’s family though last thing you need when you’re grieving is more external things. :(

Yeah Monk, I agree me replying with “you’re a #### mate” wouldn’t have been appropriate either. I just ignored and moved on you know?

@kilo, yes and it was awful he said it was a joke, I didn’t think it was funny.

But if you ride a wave of populism and this is acceptable an opinion becomes an offence can’t that be spun to any result?

I’m happy to be wrong here, just airing a thought really.

I suppose No Beer, that’s a fair point. I just worry if we stop people saying things we don’t like they continue to be said but behind closed doors and we just get this cancel culture not an opportunity to debate and counter you know?

It seems we’re losing the ability to actually talk or argue about things sometimes abhorrent ones, as people get “triggered” or require protection. I’ve been abused for being different to everyone else (Joys of being very Irish in England as a kid when bastards were blowing up bombs in the 80’s -90’s) a fair bit it’s awful, but I think it’s as much society’s job to make things inappropriate not only the law.
