Just claim on your credit card, that is what its is for. If the shop is a proper business then they will be used to things like this and wont have an issue. They can then take it up with Evil to get their money back. Thats business!

I live about 10 miles away and there must be a lots of pissed off locals, stuck in the traffic. Imagine if you were one of the thousands of worker, delivery people, etc that are having to go onto site but not enjoy any of it. Pretty hacked off having to be stuck in traffic for hours and hours. Interesting to know what Centre Parcs would think about it moving to Longleat. It would completely kill their business for 2 weeks.

Interestingly living in the country where the farmers must be one off the biggest recipients of EU funds, they all seem to be wanting out. Poster everywhere.

Personally now voting In as I don’t trust our politicians new or old to look after the masses. Also if we voted out there is no way any westminster government would ever provide funding for all our love trail centres.

However if I wake up on Friday and we have voted out, I don’t think I would be disappointed.

I am sure I heard somewhere recently of a smart meter that does the day switching thing. I think it was in Australia

The article forgets to mention that Rubber may be more expensive but Hope products will potentially be cheaper. Aluminium will not be hit with such massive import duties.

Also bikes and bike parts imported could well be cheaper as they are currently hit with massive import duties into the EU. As we don’t really have a home grown bike industry of any such size, unlike the Germans and Dutch, there isn’t such an incentive to put these duties in place or keep them so high. So bikes and parts from all our favourite manufacturers might tumble in price. “Bicycles made in China carry an additional (anti dumping) duty of 48.5 %.”

Don’t believe any that waterproof seal rubbish. Most watches just have a simple o ring to keep the water out. Unless your going to go deep sea diving then don’t worry about it. Its just a money spinner for them

Why do they think we care what any of these old politicians think. If they were any good they would still be in power. They have had their day so please move along. We have more from the old duffers than the politicians actually in power. My MP won’t even say which way he is voting.

I have a LWB and have never found it hard for parking. To be honest I have no idea why you would ever go with a SWB, don’t really understand why VW even make them. If your using it as a camper would you not want as much room as possible.

I don’t mind doing any DIY apart from decorating, hate, hate, hate. Find someone that you can pay to do it. Life is too short.

I don’t like to slag off something new and I do hope it does well, but they really should employ an industrial designer and graphic designer. With 3D printing you can have some lovely shapes but the lugs just look awful, especially the ST/TT lug. I think it is certainly the start of things to come.

I had one of the first off the production line all those years back. Loved it, great to drive and sold it for more than I bought it after 2 years. One of the first cars where all the bits from door handle to switches had a linked together design. The 5yr servicing plan was great as well as it along with the warranty covered everything apart from the MOT. There were no shock repairs or bills, apart from tyres.

Whats interesting is even though the traditional camera companies have had decades of experience at getting picture processing right the phone companies have come along and nailed it in a matter of years. For the general snap phones I think take far more reliable photos than compact cameras, even ones that are meant to be half decent. I think some of it is that camera companies have always come from the stance of trying to capture the photo exactly as the scene is. The purer the better. Whereas phone companies have come from the stance of a photo that looks the best even if it tweaks the reality.

I’ll swap you 200 in Evans vouchers for £200 in Wiggle vouchers. I need some new road disc wheels and Evans don’t have any thing decent in stock. Well I should say light and cheapish.

Have a word with Wayne at designmachineprint3d@gmail.com

He can turn around 3D printing very quickly and is much cheaper than Shapeways and the others. If you want to use someone else then Shapeways is the cheapest by a long shot but it does take a 7 to 14 days to deliver.

The problem with the local TV is that it is on all day and in French!!. they don’t seem to have wrap up programme and to be honest half the pleasure of watching TDF is the ITV presenters and the magazine type programme.

Cant’ believe so may of you say propose with a cheap ring and then go together to choose one. What a bunch of gutless wonders. Thats the easy solution. My wife lovers her engagement ring so much as she knows I put effort into choosing it and now know more about diamonds then she does. Yes she has to wear it for the rest of her life but its not like there are 100’s of designs to pick from and if you are proposing to her then you should have a fair idea of the kind of thing she likes. If you end up getting something she hates then I would question if you really know her.

Don’t worry about the ring size as any jeweller will be able to resize. However do have the balls to choose the ring yourself. It really isn’t that hard. If she doesn’t like it then that tells you something about her. The whole idea is that you are meant to put the effort in.

This is really about the BBC being told they are not allowed to compete with other commercial operations that are outside their core business. That is fair enough but no reason why this information cannot be provided free to another source to publish on the web. They can then have advertising to make money and to keep the resource alive.

This is nothing to do with cost saving.

Response back from my wife who specialises in cyber insurance for businesses. I have asked her if she knows of any legal firms that might be able to help. For £9K its probably worth it.

“Please caveat this response with the fact it is NOT legal advice. On the limited information below it is the builder who has the issue.

If the builder’s system and email account was hacked then this is an issue for the builder. The client has paid the bill based on what he has seen as a legitimate email from the builder. A phishing type email is slightly different in that it could be made to look like it’s from the builder but with some minor defects, i.e. the actual email address is completely different. I don’t know where this guy is based but it is certainly worth contacting the cyber crime unit but really it’s for the builder to do as he is the one that has suffered the crime. Try calling Action Fraud, the may be able to give some advice: http://www.actionfraud.police.uk/

In fairness to the bank, it is not their fault and in all honesty the banks often end up picking up the bill for issues that are out of their control.

I would suggest that this chap is entirely within his rights not to forward this £9k again. The builder would either need to prove that the email has not come from his email address (which it sounds like it has) or it’s an issue he needs to deal with himself. The builder should check his own insurances to see if there is an element of cyber cover included, some insurers are starting to add a small amount in to other products. Bit of a long shot but he might have something.”

If the builders email account has been hacked then it is his issue and he should be able to claim on his business insurance, or should have business insurance to cover this. If the email has not actually come from his account and just looks like it has then it is your responsibility.

Let me speak to my wife about it as she deals with cyber insurance. She might have some legal contacts that could help.

I don’t understand why when they brought the new law in they didnt make it mandatory that all new cars are fitted with handsfree. Would add a couple of £ to the cost of the car and within a short number of years no one would ever have an excuse.

What annoys me most is professional drivers using them. Should be an instant ban if that is your job.

Got a 2 bike Fiamma one. Does look tatty quickly and as other have said is very high up, so at 6’3″ I can just a bout reach it. Then again I use it all the time so a tow bar type wouldn’t really work that well. I am surprised no one make a low mounting one. As the T5 is so popular I am sure one could be developed or adapted.

Been using Tesco for years and never really had much of a problem. Drivers are always on time and polite. If your going to use this going forward then you will collect lots of club card points which we use on Tesco Direct. Don’t think we have ever had to pay for boring stuff like baking trays, crockery, pans etc in years.,

I got a Charge HR in September and use mine every day. The figures are not necessarily accurate but are perfect for comparison. The main issue I have with mine is now all my expensive Omegas and Panneries just sit in the draw and never get worn. It’s a shame no one make a add on that you could attach to the strap of your standard watch.

Got a high top T5 with barn doors and have a Fiamma rack bolted on to the left door. Works really well and had no issues at all after 3 yrs use. To me having it available all the time is a massive bonus

Make sure that everyone on the project knows it is their job to get the project finished. Therefore no sitting around waiting to be told what to do. If you have a team of proactive people then projects often sail by.

Make sure management all the way up is fully committed to help you. If they are not then don’t bother. I once ran a UK wide PC refresh program. I had a board level director shouting at me as to why I had not competed the rollout of laptops and at the same time he had just issued a dictate that no laptops could be upgraded or replaced as there had been a data breach. Even when I asked him for written permission to replace some laptops he still said no and in the same breath asked why the project still hadn’t finished. Smashing head against brick wall was an understatement.

If there is not management support don’t bother!!

If they want the project just finished then don’t bother about the budget, you can waste far to much time creating reports for the sake of it that no ones even bothers looking at. If they really want reports and budgets, insist you have a project support person to pull these together. Even if it is part time or an hour a day.

Bloody hate buying tyres as it is so confusing. Just had to buy 4 new ones for my VW T5 and there is just no independent advice and no one can give you clear answer as to what is good or bad. Now with the EU labels it is a bit better as at least you can see stopping distances, fuel economy and noise. Got some budgets that according to the labels out performs all he big brands. Do I actually believe that, No!!

I think the manufactures like to keep the whole industry a bit vague and a secret so they can get away with charging massively high prices for named brands. I bet if you did independent tests on all tyres there would be some bloody cheap tyres that perform and wear really well. Just like bike bit, we all know that some cheap stuff is bloody amazing and some expensive brands you really are just paying for the name.

Just report it to social services or the health visitors. It’s their job to monitor children and sort things like that out. The health visitor can then pop around and check things out.

I bought these BT ones, plugged in and worked straight away. We’ve had them for about a month now and no issues. Faffed around with cheap ones from eBay for months and month.

Thanks everyone. My mother has had her kitchen fully gutted and was wondering is underfloor heating would be batter as there is not huge amount of room for a radiator. Seems like running costs might just be to high.

If it is 150W per m2 then if the kitchen is 5m x 5m then that 25 x 0.15 = 3.75kw. Say electricity is £0.10 per kWh then thats £0.37 per hour? Does that sound right?

Well I have been scrambling under the van and it looks like my wheels are not load rated high enough as they say 785kg and I think I need at least 812kg.

So look like I will be getting new alloys and tyres. I think I will go with some 17″ alloys and then some standard 235/55 17 or some 215/60 17c commercial tyres.

    Thanks for everyones help

Molgrips – the wear is not like normal as it is on both edges of both front tyres. Normally with tracking its just wears on one of the edges, I believe. Tyre centre said they didn’t think it was tracking.

Been checking my tyre size compared to what is recommended by VW and seem the tyre size is right. Checked here: http://www.etyres.co.uk/how-to-change-your-tyre-size/%5B/url%5D

On the tyre info sticker from the van it has a number which is awfully similar to the tyre load rating. Is that correct? If so 101 tyres are not strong enough or at least recommended by VW even though they are legal.

Right I have been doing some research and things are clearer but no real answer.

I have a T30 2.5cc which has axle weights of Front 1575kg and Rear 1625kg. So if I divide the rear weight by 2 you get 812.5kg. This means tyres with a load rating of 101 are actually fine according to this site. http://www.tyresave.co.uk/tyreload.html

So as long as my rims are load rated then I would be fine on the tyres. This also assumes that the wheel size and tyre size are matched correctly. 235/50 R18 W (101) also seems to be fine for an 18 wheel.

So what I am currently thinking is the cause

Van weight as it is converted is over the max axle weights
Tyre and wheel size combination is not correct. Could the wheel be too wide/deep.
Maybe I need a tyre with a load rating far above what is the legal limit.

I think I will give VW a call and see what they fit on long wheel base California’s.
