Thanks all, I was looking just at the ones with the grant as I didn’t think about buying a box and then getting a sparky to install it. Also wasn’t aware that the car controls the charging times etc.

Its seems it the classic thing, where there are lots of features on all of them but nothing that explains what’s good or better.

It’s ridiculous that the BBC printed word for word what the Queen was going to say in speak marks. They then sent out a Breaking News that the queen had said “this and”. We know you published it over 12 hours earlier. Bloody stupid and I can’t see any reason why. It’s the same when they announce the New Years honours days beforehand. Why!!

Report him for having solar panels with out building control approval. Give him some pointless paper work to fill in.

There are so many knobs in this country who think “my house is my castle” and then buy semi detached house.

I think it is a great idea as I read the other day that the only manufacturer in the UK make about 150 a year and they think they would increase their capacity to 250 or so, but they were a tiny company. I appreciate that there are loads of medical regulations but when it a case of life or death they these things can be waved. they did so with ebola and the testing of vaccines when people pointed out that the patients were going to die anyway. All the current manufactures seem to think that its not possible for others to pick up production but I bet as the Chinese come back on line they will be producing ventilators by the 10000’s. They are the kings of contract and volume production. Just look at how they switched factories from make iPhones to face masks almost overnight.

Mesh 100%. Got the BT ones. Plug in and they work. No problems in 6 months. Always had endless problems with power line and repeaters. To be pair they are probably one of my best purchases as they just work.

Just don’t fall off and need a hospital trip. I don’t think you would get much sympathy when explaining how you were trying a big jump and it all went wrong!

To be fair to Boris if he is following medical and science yogic advice then he is in the clear. If he is overruling them then that is another story and the chief medical officer should be saying so as he had a duty of care above and beyond politics. What is interesting is what the scientific advisors in other countries think of what we are doing. At this stage it is all down to stats. They know it will spread and they can’t control it so they are assuming everyone will get it, quite a lot will die, but if they can make sure the nhs is not overwhelmed then the death rate will be lower. One key thing also is in say Italy how much is the national daily death rate increased by? I bet not a lot. About 1300 people die everyday in the uk so you would have to have huge numbers dying of coronavirus to change the annual numbers. I think they are move bothered about effects on society and the economy than individual deaths.

At what point does it become the fault of the property owner for not adapting their home. It’s not like you can’t get loads of flood defences for houses now. Why should it be the local councils or environment agencies job to sort your flooding issue out? Posing the question

Just because an almost majority of voters are stupid enough to vote for something it does not make it a good thing.

    Perfect example: Trump

Remember the rules of insurance have changed so they can only turn down a claim if a change has had a material affect on the claim. So someone crashed into the back of you they couldn’t turn the claim down as you had taken some seats out.

I don’t really get why some people don’t like smart meters. Someone comes along and says they would like to change my meter, it doesn’t cost me anything, and allows me, with some suppliers to never have to read my meter again. I really dont see any downside. I can switch to any supplier I want and if the technology changes they will come again at no cost to me and change over the meter. Why would I care?

I think you are being totally irrational and should be thanking your tenant. It will actually look good for new tenants

HP and instant ink here. Gave up after years and years of trying to use copy cartridges and refills.

We pay something stupid like £1.99 a month as we don’t do that much printing. But it’s really worth it to have a printer that just works when you need it. If you print a bit more they just charge you a bit more that month.

My BW T5 auto went just before Christmas in London. Got towed back and then needed a new gear box. I used Gloucester Road Gearboxes. Rang around loads of places to try and get a better price, including ones from eBay. No luck so they did the work. Came to £3500 inc VAT!!! It made me cry….

Put a claim in on your credit card / PayPal. It is the retailers responsibility to show it has been delivered

I gave up trying to find cheap versions and just went for Office 365. Yearly fee but you get the latest version, all the updates and it just works.

It is email newsletter good practice to have an unsubscribe and an address. This is not a legal requirement either now or when GDPR is in place. It is a legal requirement to have an address on a website if you are selling something under distance selling regs.

GDPR is going to be like when they brought the Cookie rules in. For the majority of companies it isnt going to make adifference

You just have to show that you have a process to protect customers data (such as password protected computers and email) and that you have a process to delete data either when asked to or when you have no need for it. There is nothing that says how you should do this.

    woody74

You don’t have to do anything fancy. You have a legitimate reasons for holding the data and then you all you need is a process for removing someones email address if they request it. you only need to worry about opting in going forward. There is nothing wrong with using a gmail account as you are currently. GDPR doesn’t says you have to do everything possible to protect someones data. You have to just do something proportional. Its an email newsletter for a club so nothing complicated is needed.

I thought most car insurance was knock for knock on claims. Therefore it doesn’t matter who’s fault it is each insurer pays out and it goes on your record and affects your premium. Has this now changed, hence the need for dash cams.

How is this any different to censoring films or tv programmes.?

    woody74

The big problem is parents don’t teach there kids and why should the internet be free from regulation when print media, tv channels and films are not. Everyone would agree that the internet can be a dangerous place and it is far to easy for adult material to appear. Why do we think it’s fine for the latest horror film to be restricted and not shown to kids but if it’s online it is fine.

Personally as the internet is now delivered by massive corporations and is already policed by them (why you can’t find the dark web) is it not time they are responsible for all content that they  delivered. We have gone well past the days when isp were just  conduits into the internet, now they are already co tent providers and controllers so should they not protect us from the worst of the web. Remember it’s bloody easy for them to switch off access to a site or restrict types of material.

Can I feel smug that even though I’m in the sticks and 1 mile outside the nearest village I’m just about to get Truespeed fibre of 200mbps up and 200mbps for £47 and no install charges. Will be faster than my brother in central London.

We use a Decathlon Quechua pop up shelter. Like the one in the picture above. Bloody brilliant, and really does take seconds to put. If we are camping for a week then we take a tent as well.

In my mind one of the massive benefits of a camper van is convenience therefore speed of butting up a awning is key. .

They will be businesses and buildings that are fully owned by the owner has have hardly any outgoings. As long as they have a small amount of income to keep them off the poverty line then they continue ticking along. There is a pub near us that at most must have 5 customers a night, but it keeps on going as they have hardly any costs.

There used to be a restaurant at the bottom of Park Street in Bristol for years and years that was never open but looked immaculate inside. After a few years, it also got a complete revamp. It was in a prime location and the rumour was that it was used for money laundering by a local Italian mafia group!!

Giant, boring even though I know they make good bikes.
GT as most are horrible looking even though back in the day were great.
I know people slag of Santa Cruz for being owned by BMW drivers but I have to say my 5010 rides really really well. Best bike I have ever had out of a fairly long list.

Trek are quite dull but they do make great riding bikes. I probably wouldn’t buy one but I would be happy to ride one. You know it won’t be a bad ride.

I have never been able to understand show sizes full stop. The EU seems great at standardising our banana sizes but can’t insist on a shoes sizing system that makes any sense. Why can it not just be done in cm. What the hell does a 10 or 11 actually equate to. It must cost the large mail order companies millions in returned stock. You would think it would be in their interest to standardise sizing.

I’m confused by a lot of commmets as if people damage a rental vehicle then it would be covered by the insurance or the customer pays for it to be fixed. No different from a hire car. That’s just part of the business plan.

Granted people driving it harder may well result in more servicing and garage repairs. Than again it’s not like the average white van man treats his van well.

For me I think helmets are important, however, I do have this underlying feeling that I never wore one when I was a kid and neither did anyone else. We were all fine and no one was ever was badly hurt. so why do we think they are all important now!

I know lots of things have changed since we were kids but I do wonder how many things are away over the top. My kid’s primary school has just cancelled french lessons as they have no money. However, they found what must have been £10K+ to put a massive metal fence all around the school for security reason. It’s in the middle of the bloody country and surrounded by hedges. Been fine for the last 20yrs so why now is it a problem. It’s not like crime has increased or there are tons more paedophiles.

    Mini rant over.

if the murder of 20 six- and seven-year-olds is just something to be shrugged off as part of the price of the 2nd amendment?

They will never do it. If Sandy Hook wasn’t the tipping point, it will never happen.

Totally agree. I just don’t get Americans. Yes, events like today’s are tragic but have they not just brought it on themselves with such pitiful gun control. It keeps happening time and time again and they do nothing. There cant be many other reasons for loss of life when nothing is done to improve the situation.
