Press fit are not really different to headsets. Bang the old one out and press or tap in the new ones. Very easy. Great for manufacturers as far quicker to ream and install.

I hate Avid brakes. They have come on a couple of bikes I have bought and they have alway been terrible. They start off ok but within a couple of months start having flappy leaves and spongy braking. The BB7 are especially bad and a terrible design. Just replaced some Elixir 5 with XT disc and oh my god how much nicer, more powerful and better feel.

    Try Porhtowan

We are staying there again in a few weeks. You can get 2 bedroom apartments that are right on the beach, The Blue Bar is great, there are a couple of surf shops. If you want a chilled out place then this is great and lovely beach.

Don’t worry Mikewsmith we don’t bring in bike parts and all our stuff goes through customs and all taxes are paid. I know I see the bills!

I have already added on VAT to these prices and I am always importing goods from China for work and we never pay import duties and we are bringing in £10,000’s of goods. Import duties are only applied to small number of things. I have asked them if they can take payment through Alibaba Escrow. This means the money only gets released once the goods are received at this end. If not the money gets refunded.

If they say yes to the escrow then I am going to give it a go. If a few people are interested then I could arrange for an inspection to take place of the goods before they are shipped. This usually costs around $150 so only worth while if there are say 5 people interested.

Scandalous – Yes the Di2 is the electronic shifting version

Generally in the the last few years I have always disliked visiting London with all the bloody traffic, pollution and constant madness. However we went to the Paralympics and had a great few days all around London. It was like the whole place chilled out for a while and everyone was really friendly!! I think lLondon is great if you can get to some of the less manic places. Travelling in and out is always a pain in the arse though. M4 being 2 lane is just madness. London could certainly do with a massive road infrastructure upgrade.

Get a piece of string and suff loads in one hole, then using a hoover suck the string out the other. You can then use this to thread a cable through.

Yes Brant I know its against the rules and “ethically” wrong and I am not saying you are doing it. I am posing the question of so what is companies were doing it. As long as they are contributing to the debate about mountain bike and the industry isn’t that a good things.

At least manufactures will learn exactly what consumers want.

I’ll stand up for Brant here, he says they are not doing it, but so what if they were using Singletrack for a bit of advertising. As mountain bikers and user of this forum we always want to know about the latest products and what and why manufactures are doing things, 29″ a few years ago and 650b now. Personally I find it interesting the things Brant contributes and the perspective on lots of topics from the manufacture. Personally I think its a real shame that more manufacturers don’t comment. At least it show they are open about there products and service, even if people don’t always agree. If anything there should be a manufactures forum so they can announce their latest products and then have discussions with consumer all about it.

It would make a change from the post asking questions that manufactures could answer in seconds.

Remember iolo you don’t have to read a post just because it is there!!

Never had a problem with their disc pads. Always worn well for me. They are sldo one of the only places you can get headsets to fit many bikes.

God is I was Superstar I would be certainly drop kicking the website developers arses. There is no excuse for it being down for so long apart from being completely designed incorrectly. Its not like they sell 100’s of products or have a massively complicated site.

I would wait and give them a bit of support. You could probably phone an order through.

The problem is noisy neighbors will always be noisy as they are just inconsiderate gits. Basically either you get them kicked out or you move. They will never be quiet. I would tell the landlord that you have complained to her several times and nothing has changed so you are moving out. Then get a new pad and enjoy life. Noisy neighbors are hell and it just really grinds you down. Don’t battle it’s not worth the hassle.

I think from this most people agree that DSR is not relevant here. However if it is says something on the receipt regarding refunds then give trading standards a call and see what they say. Personally I would say if its on the receipt then it is part of the contract and they should honour it.

No sure about CBT but my mother had very good results from a pain management clinic. Its all about teaching you to cope with pain and effectively switch it off. I don’t know the ins and outs but I know it helped her a lot with back pain

Don’t be surprised if you don’t get any deeds back. I used to work for Bristol and West and Bank of Ireland (Post Office mortgages) and both of them along with many many other banks and building societies destroyed all the deeds they used to store as the ownership of a property is held by the land registry. Basically what have an extra storage cost when it was not needed.

I agree, go less places as you can always go back, Sydney harbour is amazing, fruit bats in the park by the Opera House are cool. I think he best bit for me was driving a 4×4 in the outback along the pin straight never ending roads. It just felt like totally Australia. I wouldn’t rush around places, go slowly and enjoy things. Half of Australia is the culture like getting pissed with the locals in a typical Australian tin shed bar.

Not a fan of Skyfall myself. I think it is the worst of the Craig Bond films. My view is films like this always go a bit tits up when they try to be clever and reinvent themselves to much. Bond films should be distinctly different than the Bourne style films as Bond is meant to have MI6 and all its gadgets behind him, not some rouge agent running around Europe as that Bourne style.

I have one of the Oxford hoop locks as well, free with maybe MBUK a few years back. It is really small and light so perfect for that quick nip inside. It would stop anyone just walking off with your bike, but like all of these if anyone knew what they were doing they would cut the lock in seconds. Fine for nipping into a cafe/newsagent but I wouldn’t lock my bike up with it for say a pint or a trip to the barbers. Its a good emergency lock, better than nothing!!

Why are people so critical on Singletrack, So what is Devonon53 is linked or not to the site, should we not just be interested in a new cycling resource. the problem with all of these new sites as this and the other ones announced on Singletrack over the last year or so, is that they just don’t have much content on them. They need to get a critical mass or brilliant bargains before anyone is going to use them. As per always marketing is the key.

These apartments in Porthtowan are great as they are right on the beach. Location is amazing and generally a good price. Kids will live the beach and there is a great bar/cafe you can have a beer from and watch them play. We have just booked for April.

What I would check is the max memory that both of them can take. I have found with older macs that if you charge them full of memory then they still work really well. I think this will make more difference then anything else like processor speed.

Personally I front believe anyone should be in a council house or subsidised housing is they afford enough to live in private rented accommodation. Council houses should be for people that can not afford to live anywhere else. When you start earning more you should have to move out. It should purely be seen as a service provided by the council. Yes councils should build more houses but only when their current stock is full of people in need. I also agree that if you have a house that is to big then you should have to move. But of course the council should have to provide you with the option of something smaller before they start charging you extra for spare bedrooms.

Also council houses in expensive locations should be sold off so that more council houses can be built in cheaper locations. I have also ways worked and have had to skimp and save to pay my rent and have had to choose to live in cheaper locations, thats just life.

Why should I have to subsidise someone living in a council house through council tax, who can afford to rent there own house privately, it makes no sense

I have had a few suits from these guys and they were very good

    http://www.raja-fashions.com

Fit was great and personably I would never buy an off the peg suit again. I would also say there is a massive difference between fully bespoke suit and one that has been altered. I have tried both and full bespoke is so much better. The one thing that is worth knowing in advance is what material you want as they will show you hundreds and hundreds of material swatches.

Our new daughter is 8 weeks old now and we found for the first 2 to 3 weeks she wanted to be be cuddled most of the night. We have one of those V cushions so one of us would sit up in bed and cuddle her. You could actually sleep quite well we found. After that she started sleeping in her mosses basket but we found butting a hot water bottle in it when she was being fed or before we put her in it really helped. Just made it snug for when she first got in.

With my first daughter we found swaddling her really helped. We didn’t do it very tightly but she really liked it.

I would our new born has only started getting into a routine in the last 2 weeks, so give it a bit of time. You kind of have to just resign your self to crappy sleep for a few months

If you go in any of the mud baths, do not afterwards wash your swimmers with the rest of your clothes. I did and all my clothes stank of rotten eggs even after 5+ washes. In the end I had to throw away all my clothes and buy a whole new set. Im not talking a little smell but they proper reeked.

About 5 years back we did 3 weeks in NZ North island around April time. Camper van hire was cheap as chips with Maui so we went for a massive 6 birth van. We both absolutely loved it and camper sites were super cheap as well. We miked it up with staying in a couple of nice hotels at the start and finish of the holiday as I think it was only about £45 a day for Camper van hire. If you do go to NZ then you must hire one of the GPS tour guides devices. They totally make the holiday as they tell you all about the history and culture as you drive as well as pointing out what is around you.

Driving in NZ is really easy as the roads are just so quiet

This is a bloody joke. Just because you can afford to doesn’t mean you should trademark and patent everything. This is the game Apple play. How the hell can you ever think it’s a good idea to trademark Roubaix, it’s used throughout cycling. I bought a new Specialized helmet recently and noticed on the packaging that the visor had a patented mounting system. In reality this was a small dimple that clipped into a small hole. It couldn’t have been more basic if you tried. How the hell can this be patented.

If you support this shop owner but a comment on Specialzed Facebook page.

Some of the comments are great, like “dear specialized please be aware I have trademarked the letter S”

Sounds a bit disappointing with Chris king hubs as the combination with Fox forks must be the most common. I’ve always thought disc brake tolerances are far tighter than they need to be. Maybe a new standard is needed as are current wheel widths really the best! Tolerances are especially bad with road and cross bikes on the front. Had it with a cross bike and it was all down to hub choice. Maybe call Hope and see what there thoughts are.

I should be fair, as its a great idea of keeping thing tidy. I think there pricing is just massive. I would say $3000 for tooling and then $0.20 per part. But then again if people are willing to pay for it, then good on them for making money. That is what all businesses are there for.

    woody74

Im just about to get some tooling for injection moulding and I can certainly tell you it won’t be costing anywhere like $21K. $10K should easily cover that by a long shot

Looks like this might be a time to use Amazons free return service and just try a few until I find one that meets my needs. I know that I can always use something like XBMC but I want something I can just plug in and it works. Get a bit sick of hacking things as they never work all the time and you always in the long run seem to spend more time trying to get them working than actually using them. So far the WD TV Live looks the best.

God knows why someone can’t make something that just covers everything. It seems people are just locked into the whole having to have an app, when a basic browser should play everything thats on the internet so then all you need to worry about is resizing for the screen.

Any idea if you can stream from an iPad with a WD TV live. How about iPlayer and 4OD?
